I used to like my little riding lawn mower until I got my braking leg caught on a fence and bent backwards and couldn't brake and ran the riding lawn mower up my clothes line pole until it was vertical and I was lucky it didn't fall over on top of me. But I still have neuropathy from that and that was in the 90s! So you be very careful when riding around fences or buildings. My legs are long and stuck out so hopefully you will have as much of a problem but I don't know.

Great advice! My brothers 80 year old father in law was killed riding it. Nobody knows what happened, (I know why that 80 year old was cutting grass, but I’ll be a lady and shut my mouth)…but he somehow got run over? So yes,,,be very careful. But they sure are fun!

@@cbass2755 My dad became an alcoholic in his old age and had brain degeneration. When we got him home health care and took his car keys, he threw his walker at the home nurse and took off for days on the lawn mower.

@lostribe5130 Oh my goodness! That would be very painful and a very scary experience! We're glad you're ok! We always need to use precaution when operating machinery. I made "hubby" put the roll bar back because I kept getting hung up on the tree limbs and the mower would start coming up off the ground - not a fun experience. So, I try to pay close attention when I'm cutting around close to anything. I couldn't imagine what you went through. God was looking out for you that day! 🙏🤗❤

@@cbass2755 That is so sad! A lot of accidents can happen. I wish he would have had someone who could have cut the grass for him - that's a lot for an 80-year-old to do. We all need to reach out and make sure we're taking care of our elders. ❤

Girl!!!!! You are strong, and not a quitter! I’d quit after the third pull…I could feel the pain in my shoulders. I blew out my shoulders after 40 years of bedside nursing. I just smiled from ear to ear watching you go….God love ya honey ❤

@cbass2755 🤣 I guess that's just the "stubborn" in me. I don't like to give up. I may walk away and refocus, but I always keep with something until I figure it out. Oh goodness! That is a tough job! We have nurses in our family. ❤ I'm so glad you enjoyed the video 😊 We love you so much and so glad you came along with us! God bless you! 🙏🤗❤

I'm actually doing the same thing in my orchard area. It's a great way to help out the fruit trees as well.

@ChickadeeMountainHomestead That is great! I love it ❤️ The best part I like about it is eventually not having to try to mow around everything once it is complete and filled in. I always think I'm going to hit something with the mower. We still have a lot of work to do to get it up and going, but as with everything...time and money. So, we are doing things along the way as we can. Good luck with yours as well! I can't wait to see it!

@@CelebratingFarmLife girl yes! Budget, Budget, Budget lol. I'm planning to get mine going this fall. When it's a lot cooler! Can't wait to see y'all's as well! Are you going to be using the plants that are nitrogen fixers?

My sister learned to cut the grass on those cutters and loves it. It’s now “her job” and gets mad if her husband does it. She cuts and weed wacks, and he edges. She never did stuff like that and just loves riding on that machine! You go girl!!

@cbass2755 They are fun! It makes it a lot easier for this place down here. That is so funny because I do the same thing if "hubby" tries to cut the grass 🤣 Tell sister hello 👋

@joeydamrell1860 Thank you! It's a lot to keep up with but these animals have cut down on a lot of weeding and mowing. I'm so glad to hear that! It's been so dry and makes it difficult to keep the gardens and everything else watered. We got some more rain today thankfully! We sure did need it!

My husband has switched to everything battery operated on his weed eaters! He has a bad right shoulder so pulling on stuff really hurts him. He does landscaping, so that's a lot of pulling on his shoulder. Thankfully the battery operated weed eaters are awesome!

@ChickadeeMountainHomestead I may have to try one of those! It is a lot of pulling and that job can be very hard on one's body. I'm sorry to hear about his shoulder - that's something that just doesn't go away. All it takes is one wrong move! I'm so glad we have those battery powered options now! Y'all take care, be safe! God bless! 🙏❤️
