Long time no post.. oops lol. As you know my car has been in a storage unit for months. I have hardly been able to even see the car, much less actually work on it! But, I am super excited to announce that I have partnered with a shop in Georgia that will be helping me complete tasks I simply would not have been able to complete myself! George at GMG Automotive Performance is extremely familiar with my motor and has a shop space large enough for me to bring my car over to work on!
I am STOKED to finally get the ball rolling and feel like I am making real progress!

I did say this is gonna be a full blown resurrection. Now you have professionals at hand that will explain in further detail. So far rust is not bad. That usually depends on were that Zx spent most of it's life until you got it. Looking forward to the progress guys.
Fortunately for me this car was kept in a garage for the majority of its life 😃😃

Question, what do you realistically think this entire car project is going to run you financially? I think I’m in the same boat as you: I have a 280zx with lots of potential but my wrenching skills are only gonna get me so far to the point I will need help. I have a 280zx all original with 63k miles, all real! I’m so incredibly inspired by you - please keep it up!!!!
Honestly, I’m not 100% sure. With the new block, head, trans, and GSC parts I bought to rebuild the new head I’m in about 5k outside of the cost of the car. I bought a cold air intake, did some maintenance with spark plugs, new tires, oil change and bought a new distributor. If I included all of that into my price it would be closer to 6k in so far. I know I’m going to spend a good bit of money on new control arms, a cage, reinforcing the chassis etc. I’m just not sure how much yet /: I would say maybe another 10k? Maybe 15k including my turbo set up etc. I am almost afraid to say a number too low out loud and then run into some problems and spend waaaaay more because I jinxed myself 😂😂
