Also the issue around low income, poor public transport network, failed secondary education system, job insecurity and a massive drugs problem. I as a stokie myself, would not touch an investment in the five towns just too much hassle. Good luck in convincing investors, once they have toured stoke they will get a true picture of the challenges that face the region.

High crime rate, too many druggies, council squandered investment money from European Union (when we were in it), the place was run down when we moved away, it doesn’t look like it’s improved. if you want to invest in property there are better places than Stoke.
Lived in Stoke on Trent all my life Its never been a worse place to live as it is now. Nearly all good jobs have gone abroad Wedgewood, Doulton,, Aynsley,Spode etc., Only low paid Warehouses and Supermarkets. No amenities in Longton for example no Leisure Centre, Cinema, Theatre, nothing for young people. Council recently converted the Town Hall into a business centre for themselves which could have been used for these sort of things. Half shops are empty not just in Longton loads of derelict buildings some that way for over 30 years. Might be good place to buy to rent because the Council will hire the property off you to fill up with Migrants, because the Council have run out of Hotels to put them in. We have friends who have lived all there lives in what used to be a nice area of terraced houses which people owned nearly all properties are buy to let's now and the area has become a dump overcrowded rubbish every where noise, crime, drug addicts needles, they would love to move but cannot afford to now they are pensioners. Luckily I live on the outskirts so shop in Stone or Leek nearby small towns that are far better. Stoke on Trent is one big dump including the City Centre. My advice keep well away.

I agree with Mike S areas on the outskirts of Stoke-on-Trent would be nicer to live in like Staffordshire moorlands e.g Biddulph, Leek, Cheddleton or even chesire East e.g Alsager, Congleton and so on.

I tried renting my lovely three bed terrace house to students hurray Henry pose kid walk away with things had wild parties ect decided to rent to girls kept it lovely one student came into money and wanted to buy I had such a bad experience renting I sold it to her So be careful with renting it can be stressful

areas to avoid. erm... Fegg Hayes, chell heath, hanley, normacott, cobridge, tunstall, meir, chesterton (newcastle), shelton, longton's not great. stoke town.
Good areas, Trentham, werrington, penhull, hartshill, stone.
Look in the suburbs not in Stoke. The deprivation levels are high, I would recommend Staffordshire moorlands out towards Leek area.
Add Maybank onto that list too.
