Yeah definitely has some Kaiju in it. Now that I look at it a bit more I wonder if it actually was made by the same people that made the Kaiju. I guess we'll have to see once I get my hands on it :-)
@@DoRC I would rather it's an over sized kaiju. That truck is a damn beast. Arms look the same on the lowers, chassis look similar. Towers are similar, and the tires are very close to the same. @@ragercrepair9301 yeah you definitely could be right. Looks like exo and RC driver already got one so make sure you check out their videos. I've got mine ordered and I'll be getting it tested as soon as I get it :-)
On paper it seems pretty good. I see a few comments stating it will never be a Traxxas or arrma, but if the price is right and it’s just slightly not as good, it may be a better value. If it gets popular, the possibility the aftermarket parts manufacturers could make it better then the Xmaxx or the arrma.
Yeah I think that there's a lot of brand loyalty going against redcat especially in comment opinions. If it ends up being good for the price then it's good.
I don't think that there's anything inherently wrong with them I just think that in RC their usually used in order to make up for some other deficiency in the system such as wheat shocks on the LMT etc. It's one of those things that's an added expense so it has to be there for a reason. It just makes me wonder what that reason is.
It’s very much a solid contender. If it ends up being durable it could drive the Xmaxx and ARRMA prices down a bit. The electronics package is basically better in every way over the Xmaxx electronics package aside from the radio lacking any gyro assistance. The motor in the Xmaxx and xrt is a joke with those stupid plastic caps that fail when they get over 150f for an extended period. I’ve killed 4 stock motors from that cheap plastic motor cap design and just said to hell with it and installed the old spektrum 4985 in my Xmaxx and for the xrt she got a 5690 max5 g2 combo. Seems like a great system but honestly in retrospect I would’ve been just fine with the spektrum motor in both vehicles. Has not been worth the headache of finding durable enough gears for it yet. I’m cautiously optimistic that what I have now will be the last I need to try for a while.
Yeah for as Good as the X-Max is it has some pretty serious weak points that pretty much have to be addressed out of the box. That drives the already 1100 price up quite a bit. I think the only real problem with a truck like this is that upgrade options will be limited so if there are weak points it can be harder to address
@@DoRC yea, that’s true. 2 of the 3 redcats I had I got rid of for lack of upgrades, but the most recent one I bought, the volcano 16, has been very durable. Ran on brushless power the entire time I owned it and only thing I ever broke was rear dog bones, which they sell a metal version of.
@DoRC true, but if the xmaxx goes to 1100 then 2999 isn't far off. I would say it's a crusher because of what you get for the price. The value u is better. The xmaxx is not worth the 1000 dollars they want for it. I have played around with one and the only thing cool about it is the size. It's heavy and slow. Now the raminator is heavy but it's a beast and it has a actual engine on it not some crappy vxl system that will soon fail as they do. @DoRC no I don't own one I have played with one though. It's cool don't get me wrong I just don't think it's king or worth a grand. I'd rather buy losi 5t or the raminator if I was going to purchase something bigger then 8th scale.
