Just got done replacing mine and with your clear instructions and detailed information it was a piece of cake. Thank you very much for your tips and tricks.
just finished putting starter on my 09 acura ! this video helped out big time. thanks for the tutorial
All this info and you did it all while recording with one hand and getting shit done with the other hand
Thank you good sir
Thank you for taking the time to create such a helpful video. I was able to replace the starter in my 2009 Acura TSX using your excellent and clear instructions - though not as quickly as you are able to. I'd like to highlight a couple of points in case it helps anyone else following your instructions. My 2009 TSX has two nuts on the top row of fasteners that hold the intake manifold on [b - n - b - n - b]. Also, I wasted about an hour trying to get the two lower nuts off the threaded studs that anchor the bottom of the intake manifold - I had to give up but thought to try the one bolt holding the bracket where the studs thread into - worked much easier for me. When I went to remove the intake manifold, I found I needed to disconnect a vacuum line on the left side of the manifold to actually separate it from the vehicle. Finally, I don't know if this would affect the core value on the failed starter but I twisted too hard trying to un-stick the terminal nut on the starter and wound up breaking the terminal completely off the starter (made removal go a littler quicker though - I had a tough time getting a tool into loosen the terminal nut. Again, thank you for sharing your talents.
Thanks for the tips. I'm gonna try this on my 2009 tsx right now.
@@philojudaeusofalexandria9556 how was it ? I have to do this as now too
@@Fabianhernandezkings Took me about 4 hrs at night with the help of my 11 yr old daughter. It would take maybe 3.5 hrs during the day. And now that I know what I am doing, I could do it in 2 hrs, probably. No issues.
Sounds like me, so close but no cigar! Ha Hello, I'm having a hard time getting the bottom bolts loose on the intake manifold. It takes a 12mm socket and I have a ratchet and a breaker bar but I can't get the right angle on the bolts to get it out & dont want to strip it, i trued to go underneath the car to get to it but couldn't get the right angle. Any thoughts appreciated thank you for this video. :) mine is an acura tsx 09 slightly different but wondering what is the method for getting the bottom bolts or nuts loose
When you say one bolt holding the bracket can you explain a little more
Thanks a ton brother for this video. I changed mine. My vehicle had 236000 kms I did preventive maintenance, replaced it this video was very helpful approximately took me less than 2 hrs. I did it with ease
Success! Took me about 4 hrs at night with the help of my 11 year old daughter :). I figure it would be 1/2 hour faster if I did it in the day; and now that I know what I'm doing it would probably take me 1.5-2hrs if I had to do it again.
Thanks for the video!
Thanks bro thanks to u I saved money on a tow. I had to do it on a second parking lot after getting kicked out where I got stuck. Good shit bro
Thanks a lot, your video helped me out a lot changing the starter on my 2012 TSX, that tube that you used as a breaker bar is a must for that job. (I used an aluminum kitchen faucet neck).
I Used a 10 mm for removing top screws and some brackets, 12mm sockets with and extension to remove the manifold, then on the starter used 14mm and a 17mm to the two main bolts then a 12mm for the terminal that connects to the battery.
Flat head screw driver and a ratcheted breaker bar
Hope this comment helps out others
Just finish mind and I didn't have that metal pipe to help out with the last screw for the starter but I manage, thanks alot this was the only clear video to help me out #salute
Any other maintenence you should do while having the manifold off?
Great video, helped me out alot today with my 2012 tsx, had it done in right under 2 hours. Thanks again for the detailed video!
this issue happened when i had under 50k miles.
i first noticed that my car had a hard time starting sometimes, then it became more frequent, and then it did NOT start, my battery was strong, thats when i changed the starter, it worked PERFECT for one week then same issues started.
after my starter was changed the 1st time i also had 2 sensors fail, which caused the new starter to become weak and fail again.
the way i understood it was that the 2 sensors must have had some effect making the starter have trouble starting my car.
i had my crank position sensor changed and cam shaft sensor changed, i do not remember which cam sensor.
after the sensors were changed i changed starter to a new one and no problems, car is driving great for over one year.
god damn it. I am literally going through the same issues as you. Replaced the factory starter at around 60k - 70k miles. Worked fine for a few weeks, then started to feel like it's slow to start again. If I crank it more than a few seconds, the ECU will throw code P0339. This led me to replace the crank position sensor. It STILL does the same thing.
Do you recommend an aftermarket starter or OEM? Thanks for making this video.
hi,
i had to change crank position sensor, and 1 of the cam shaft sensors, then i changed the same starter again.
it works good now
Billy BK which starter did you replace it with?
great video man , did mine in 2.5 hours without a breaker bar just a ratchet and a wrench , it’s not for the weak tho lol i lost a few bolt and had several errors
Very helpful video!!! Thank you for sharing, made the job much easier!
Perfect instruction first time and mastered it cus of this video
Thanks for the video brother helped me out a lot appreciate it
Thanks for the video, it was helpful.
I did my starter on '12 tsx se, after I did it ,there's a " knocking noise" before start the vehicle, is that normal or starter not working properly?
Gracias me hizo aprender a tener mas imajination para quitar partes mas deep under the motor than you Señor.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Maestro.
Can I fit a 2007 accord 4 cyl starter to a 2009 TSX so I don’t have to find a new one?
Would that information be available on alldata at a garage?
