Nick DeSimone coming out of nowhere & donating everything including his knee to stop the puck.

Looking at Allen he looked so smooth and confident out there. Yeah he gave up the 1 on the first shot to Johnston, but he kept calm! Love to see it. 😊

New Jersey Devils went up to 32-30-4, while the Dallas Stars move to 40-19-9 of the season.
The Devils goaltending situation should have been addressed in December or January. Think of how many more points they would have today. Easily 10 or 12 more points. Lindy did nothing, and it may have cost us a trip to the playoffs.

Jake Allen didn't want to go there, he finally waived his no trade clause at the deadline.
@@ScottWiecenski Only the GM, aka Fitzy, could do anything about the goaltending, Lindy has been wanting that goalie
Lindy took the fall for a lot of organizational errors. He isn't without fault, but to say he alone is responsible for (potentially) missing the playoffs is a stretch.
As a Devils fan, I hope we don't make the playoffs, but this is the type of goaltending we need. Devils need to stop letting in the first goal everytime though, it's hard enough to win on a daily basis in this league don't make it harder by always having to come from behind.

If NJ has solid goaltending and defending. Nobody is going to stop them.
The goaltending is one thing, but you can't teach experience on D or get skill players to add muscle overnight... Fitz has his work cut out for him this summer, but a solid singular game last night.

Benn gave perfect front and center feeds for the 1st and 3rd goal against, and Heiskanen literally scored the 2nd goal for the Devils for them. Oettinger can't do much if two of the primary players on the Stars just periodically decide they are playing for the other team.
@@jonah.donohuehe needs his golf clubs to be taken away from him. He's posted 3 rounds so far in March 2024. I can see it because I am in the Golf Handicap Network. I bet he would play today too if the weather allowed for it.
So, in my mind he has a choice to make: either keep playing golf and be the back up or put the clubs away and help us win.

Salty wild fan disclaimer, but seeing Suter get his stick lifted and go -1 makes me smile a bit. He is still a shut down D-man, it is just jealousy.
Sigh...this game only makes one more sad seeing that had the Devils just gotten a goalie earlier they defs would be in the playoffs this yr. So I have to chalk this down as an L for Devil's management.
Allen said he rejected the trade to nj earlier in the years cuz of Schmidt and vanacek but they got moved and pretty sure hes there #1 (he had a nmc)
hold your horses, it was just one game and those first two goal he let were catchable. All NJ goalies had a good game or two this year, but u didn't gave them a chance, why this guy tho? After one game? Don't be ridiculous.

if you replay this exact game like literally no one does anything different the stars win it 9/10 tmes but my dad had to mention how jake allen has been a thorn in our side before and i HAD to say back to him (before the game) that hes all alone. so physics went out of its way to prove that were not in charge and the puck does what it wants. not what we tell it too.
should we have won yes- but outside alil emotional gas warning signal going off the stars did everything they should do to win games- the puck just didnt agree. if losing to the best team because of 3 unanswered goals was something to shake off what exactly do you do with this?
