I loved this movie as a kid. I remember other kids at school not liking it because he didn’t have the skull on his shirt but that never bothered me. This movie is underrated for sure! Shelf!
Great episode! One of my favorite comic book movies; own it on VHS! First saw it on cable at around 9 years old at my grandparents’ house (they had cable, we didn’t at my house) and loved it ever since! I was waiting the whole episode for y’all to riff on the stubble/contour sculpting makeup on his face the whole time, lol!
OMG your guys Punisher impersonating made me laugh so hard 😂 now every time I either read a Punisher comic or play any Punisher video games I'm going to think of this review 😅
I remember I was in fifth grade when the 04 punisher came out and was one of my favorite movies that year when I found out this one exist I had my mom take me to all the mom and pop rental stores until I found it because they didn't have it at Hastings or blockbuster I haven't watched it since then but after this podcast I'm about to
The '04 Punisher was one I revisited a lot when it first came out, although I don't know how well it holds up today. On the other hand, '89 Punisher is still awesome so we hope you enjoy the re-watch! Thanks for watching! 💚📼 -Sean
I just found your podcast recently so I’ve been skipping around through episodes that cover movies that I like or am familiar with. Which is why I’m randomly commenting on various ones. So I just got to this one and I have to say I think the ongoing Dolph Lundgren crazy, anemic, exhausted insomniac in desperate need of B12 and a sandwich imitation is easily the hardest I’ve laughed at a podcast in a while.
Welcome to the Dumpster! We’re glad you’re diggin’ the show! This was definitely one of our favorites to do, so we’re glad you got a good laugh, haha. 🙏💚📼
I had this on vhs I loved it.... it's still better than any other Punisher movie. ( the short lived series was great the newest one) war zone and Thomas Jane didn't work for me.
I was 7 when this hit cable & I'd always catch it whenever they ran it. Didn't own it 📼till I was maybe 12, and by that time I sounded like this review. But I still love this God damn movie💀 Oh wait there was no fucking skull
Davey may actually bring The Tick up in another episode he’s on, Meteor Man or Roger Corman’s Fantastic 4. Next time we have him on we’ll have to ask him either way!
You guys were absolutely correct about this music sounding like Tammy and the T-rex's, the composer for both films was a dude named Simon Stokes, also what was with the whole scrotal singing in the late 80s early 90s?
I saw this before I started reading the comics. Thought it was fine. Think you guys can do War Zone, story sucked, but Stevenson made a damn good Punisher.
Love the retro synth.... Punisher '89 with Dolph Lundgren is my favorite by a country mile.
" i should have walked into here, this motorcycle is very loud"

Not having the skull is such a minor gripe, the movie rules!

Other than the punisher series which rocks, this was probably my favorite movie version of the punisher.
Oh Dolph is the Punisher on our show without a doubt.
He's the most Punisher-y Punisher we've had so far. 👍
When I first watched this I had no idea who The Punisher was, I just thought it was a Dolph Lundgren 80's action movie.
The imitations and impressions crack me up the most. Hot damn this Shiznit is GOLD
😆🤘🏻👊🏻
We try! 🤣 Glad you enjoyed it!

I vote you guys do CYBORG!!! my childhood bro!! I could definitely see you digging into that one! Lol
👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
In Johnny mnemonic he was good as the preacher and even had a custom knife in that movie that looked cool.
He's my favorite action star.
Totally forgot Dolph was in that, but yeah he was great in that too! He's awesome, underrated action star. Thanks for watching!
🤣😂🙂😂 one of the funniest episodes you guys have ever done Punisher voice”I laughed myself awake”
"Why are in the innocent punished, Matt?!" We hope you read that in Dolph Lundgren voice. 😂
Whenever I first think of The Punisher I always think Dolph Lundgren!! I need to dust off the dvd and give this a watch, great review!!
Thank you! It really holds up great, hope you enjoy your re-watch! 💚💿
It not a faithful Punisher adaptation…. But much like Constantine, that has the same problem… I dig it! Its a great, fun vigilante flick IMO
Yup, its pretty great!

You can tell Sean isn't a Price is Right guy. After 55 was picked and then 56 he clearly should have chosen 54...
I just bought this movie last night. I can't wait to see it.
You are in for a treat!

The comicbook guy should watch the OG Tick because some of his stuff sounds familiar.

i used to own this on vhs
that Dolph Lundgren voice kills me
Of course he speaks in rhyme, he's a drunken Shakesperean actor.
Aww man! My uncle had this on beta max 😭 I cannot remember a thing from this!
Definitely go track it down, it's really underrated and Dolph is great as The Punisher!
@@MovieDumpster He certainly looks the part.... Although ffs Dolph! Couldn't you have grown an actual stubbly beard? 😭
@@Gorgutsforcongress Then we wouldn't have all these great moments of comedy though! 😂

Not currently on the docket, but could be a fun one to visit down the road. Wayne Knight as Micro too!
Great video guys
Thanks for listening! 💚📼
wait were those toy cars his late kids?
Reincarnated by Dr. Joe Buchanan? Sounds about right.
