I learned how to weld on a Lincoln back in high school
Good tip on having water hose and fire extinguisher handy
I need to do a better job on getting some fire extinguishers on different locations of my property because you never know when or where you will need it
Maybe a good topic for you to cover ?
    Have a great evening 👍

That is something I shall do on my excavator bucket. It has extra wear pad because it was used commercially. But the cutting edge begins to be round. The corners are getting worn. You've taught me to have plenty of fire extinguishers. Each machine has one, except the lawn mower and the chain saw! Lol! Seriously, any significant machine has one. Each significant room too! Thanks!

Good evening Sir. A lot of heat is generated with a welder and there is always potential for fire. I found that out way back in high school the 1st time I welded. There was a piece of wood under the metal that caught on fire. Looks like you got your bucket well reinforced with the weld. Stay safe!

Looks like a great job. Might want to weld the bottom side of the bucket edge as 90% of the wear happens there first. And buy some hard facing rod. Depending on what type of hard facing rod is available most of them are limited to two passes deep. With hard facing checking is normal and does not hurt the wear properties of the material.

Comment ca va mom ami? You have done a nice welding job. Nice bead and pretty straight too. Very impressive. When I was working any time we did hotwork, like welding, we always had to have a fire watch person for the very reason that you experienced. And the fire watch had to remain on the job site for 1 hour after the welding was finished. Fires can take a long time to start. Good for you to have the water hose and an extinguisher handy.
