I think you make a good point about gold bars. I commented recently on one of your videos where I ordered a 1oz cast bar from the Perth Mint (the new serialized one) and I was all excited. Once I opened it up I quickly realized that while I liked the shine, I was disappointed and didn’t care for it. All within an hour of first holding it. The smaller the Coin does not always lead to a higher premium. The British Gold Sovereign contains .2345 Troy Ounces of Gold but has a premium around that of a full Ounce Gold Eagle. It may take a little longer to sell them in the U.S. but you will still get an excellent price for them and be able to unload them without too much difficulty.
I live in UK. I was left 4 krugerands and 5 full sovereigns. I now am looking to buy more sovereigns cld you throw any tips for UK coins ,or should I just stick to sovereigns, cheers .n goodluck .
You're right I live in America and probably should buy eagles but I'm just drawn to the Perth mint coins they're just absolutely gorgeous. Just bought a 1 oz swan a few weeks ago and it's beautiful. Yes I realize we should be buying to stack and not based on beauty but they're just stunning and I can't help myself 😂
Woah, is that a bolt action pen on your desk? I saw a cool video one time of a guy who machined one of those out of brass or copper, something along those lines. It was a neat project
Great video! Informative, thoughtful and fun as always. I always look forward to your latest posting. Thanks for the hilarious Leroy Jenkins reference 🤣
Based on the window shopping provided here - outside of Eagles - I would say Buffalo and or Britannia. Britannia for lower cost or fractional. But if I go big, I might go for Buffalo this year.
Well said! I've noticed on a major USA online bullion dealer, while searching their buy back pages surprising, buffalos were getting spot and maples were getting spot + $15 AGE were still the highest paid at spot +$20 But the dealer was selling the Buffalos at the highest premium.
Much appreciation for the Leroy Jenkins reference... LOL! I could just sit and watch your videography of the coins all day; I could get mine out of their various hiding places so I could look at them, but it's easier just to watch your videos. Another great video!
Enjoyed your video. I’ve got many silver coins and my bank vault is getting full. I’ve heard that many in my situation are selling their silver and buying gold to reduce the space. I am interested in your opinion. Thanks Bill
Agreed Buy the popular coins . The sovereigns and paso’s much harder to sell . First choice’s Buffalo, maples, then eagles ! I just prefer the 9999 over the 22k stuff
I'm with you on 24k visually. The Eagles are just so easy to move, though. If it's being stored in a vault, I like Eagles. If they're somewhere where I see them often, it's Buffalos and Maples. Cheers!
Great video as always... I am at a 2:1 AGE:Maple ratio going on... I am getting to that "tax max level" of Maples but not there yet... Oh, I have the same lil-notebook... "water-proof"? Lastly, I'd like to see hear/see your explanation of the "Lost in a Boating Accident" term... I first heard it from one of your older videos and now on R/wallstreetsilver, every other post is of stackers showing their stack and say something to the affect of "too bad about that tragic boating accident" (sic) ... I can infer a "deeper" story behind it and it would make an entertaining channel topic. Thanks as always! Joe
Hey thanks, Joe! I was just thinking I might skip the Britannia this next time and grab another Maple. It’s just such a great coin. The boating accident is just an old joke about “losing it” so there’s no chance of capital gains or confiscation. Cheers!
Really good video. Lately, I'm buying value... have picked up some random year Krugs and a couple of 2021 Maples, far cheaper than the American coins, very happy with that!
Saving Silver until I have enough to trade for a buffalo ounce of gold. So far I have 40 ounces of Aztec calendar bars. Each bar is 5 oz. and I have 8 of them altogether. I can barely save any cash for precious metals. In two months I might be able to add 20 oz maybe. But Trying.
I don't have any but I'm tempted to get one 🤔 What do you think of the RCM 1oz Gold bar. It's backed by a Sovereign Nation and they're very attractive. I have a couple of the Silver version and wouldn't mind having one in Gold.
I have been creeping and watching your videos for a week or two now… I am subscribed… I’ve heard people mention the premiums are more today than they were in the past…… Is this the case? If so, why is that? Is it supply and demand? I thank you in advance
Great informative once again mate, my first stop for all my gold info! I'm in the UK and sadly our premiums seem far higher than in the US, its more like 10% on an ounce coin unless you really shop around or buy on the 2nd hand market. I've very recently diversified from strictly silver and started adding gold to my stack, I can thank/blame you for that! 😉 So far I've got a 1/20th George slaying the dragon from an obscure Welsh mint, a 1/10th Britannia and a beautiful half ounce Britannia just turned up today, just the quarter and the full ounce and I have the full set of four. How do you feel about gold bars? Not as nice to look at but as an investment they seem to have the lowest premium per ounce, looking at a 100g bar at the mo, that is only 2.5% over spot, which is extremely competitive over here! Cheers!
I stay away from the bars, but that’s based on potential buyers here. They’re harder to move because people want to have them verified. Could be totally different there, though. Nice work in your current pick ups! Cheers!
@@2is1gold Ah yes of course, you're right, I'll conduct some enquiries but I expect its the same here in that case, I guess I could buy the Pamp bars in the Veri-scan packs, however their premiums are truly eye watering so I wouldn't be gaining anything. Coins it is then! 😊

But oh well. When spot goes up it won’t matter all that much. Stay safe!!
I will focus on buying more maple leafs. I hope to have 10 gold coins by the end of the year. I just received my first maple leaf in the mail today and will be buying a American Eagle and Buffalo as well. I also got some silver eagles and I bought the capsules to go with the coins as well.

That's great - thank you for watching!
Thank you. Finally someone with knowledge tells me what percentage to pay over spot. Wonderful video :)
Thank you!
I have brought as much silver as i want for this year. i have just brought my first gold a 1/10 oz Brititiana
Nice!
My friend, I appreciate all your knowledge that you share on your channel. I have found that everyone thinks and feels a bit differently on prioritizing their collections. But it's all good from my point of view. I'm learning a lot from everyone. Thanks for your time. Pat.A
The smaller the Coin does not always lead to a higher premium. The British Gold Sovereign contains .2345 Troy Ounces of Gold but has a premium around that of a full Ounce Gold Eagle. It may take a little longer to sell them in the U.S. but you will still get an excellent price for them and be able to unload them without too much difficulty.
Yep, that’s a clear exception.
I live in UK. I was left 4 krugerands and 5 full sovereigns. I now am looking to buy more sovereigns cld you throw any tips for UK coins ,or should I just stick to sovereigns, cheers .n goodluck .
Very helpful. I am just starting to learn about investing in gold.
I really love the old double eagles, don’t own any of those yet. Nice video
Thanks!
I got my first 2 1/4 ounces and my 1/10th at the local shop, it was cheaper than I found online.
That’s great!
Not claiming these are the "best" to buy.....But, I do like the Mexico 50 Peso gold and Peru 100 soles also in gold. Both are pretty hefty coins ;-)
Yeah, the 50 pesos are cool coins. I'm not familiar with the Peru 100. Thanks!
The 50 Pesos coin is awesome! I want to get one of those someday.
🔥🦈🌊
Love the 1920s libertads. Even the new ones are collectable because of the low mintage
Great info, I also notice that gold proofs have higher premium too.
Thanks!
Woah, is that a bolt action pen on your desk? I saw a cool video one time of a guy who machined one of those out of brass or copper, something along those lines. It was a neat project
LOL, charge into it "Leroy Jenkins Style". Very good description that I got a good laugh. Curious, did you play WOW at one point?
Ha. I never played WoW but was well aware of Leroy. 😅
There are definitely some viable and liquid options. Great review of what's available this year
Thanks, Sal!
Glad to see Sal checks out the 2 is 1 channel.
Sal you actually watch other people’s channels? Lol watch mine!
Thanks for the vid, just subscribed gonna watch some more. From uk :)
Thanks!!
Great video! Informative, thoughtful and fun as always. I always look forward to your latest posting. Thanks for the hilarious Leroy Jenkins reference 🤣
Ha, thanks!
Based on the window shopping provided here - outside of Eagles - I would say Buffalo and or Britannia. Britannia for lower cost or fractional. But if I go big, I might go for Buffalo this year.
Hopefully, the prices on Buffalos will come down before you go BIG! 😄
Favorite channel since I discovered it! Thanks for all the info. Been purchasing all types of gold since I Bought my 24kt jewelry.
Hey, thanks!
Well said!
I've noticed on a major USA online bullion dealer, while searching their buy back pages surprising, buffalos were getting spot and maples were getting spot + $15 AGE were still the highest paid at spot +$20
But the dealer was selling the Buffalos at the highest premium.
Interesting. I hadn't seen that before.
@@2is1gold
I've seen it at the Bullion dealer BGASC web sight.
Much appreciation for the Leroy Jenkins reference... LOL! I could just sit and watch your videography of the coins all day; I could get mine out of their various hiding places so I could look at them, but it's easier just to watch your videos. Another great video!
Ha! I'm glad somebody caught that! Cheers!
I see a lot of the Britannia’s getting purchased. Is it simply a price choice? Because I feel like the maple looks better😄
Yeah, the Britannia can be found for 5% right now. The Maple Leaf is more like 7.
Like this guys videos. E s very knowledgeable about gold. Precious metals belong in everyone s investment portfolio.
Thanks Amanda!
Check out "beneath the south skies" coin, it's an Australian coin and much better than the kangaroo imo. Bit higher premium.
👍
Enjoyed your video. I’ve got many silver coins and my bank vault is getting full. I’ve heard that many in my situation are selling their silver and buying gold to reduce the space. I am interested in your opinion.
Thanks
Bill
I know a lot of people are expecting the GSR to get even tighter, but it's at a point I'd trade to gold personally.
Cheers!
I like this guy I've been checking him out and I am stacking a tube of 1oz eagle's
✊
Agree with the 2 American choices, Canadian best secondary option
Cheers!
Thank-you for the video, beautiful coins. 😁
Thanks for watching!
Really good video. Lately, I'm buying value... have picked up some random year Krugs and a couple of 2021 Maples, far cheaper than the American coins, very happy with that!
That's a good way to go right now. American coins have crazy premiums at the moment. Cheers!
The premiums are just way way way up some charging from $200 to $220 for premiums from 10% to 12%. These premiums are way too HIGH
Agreed. That's exactly why I wanted to update this video! Thanks for watching!
Just bought my first Canadian Mapleleaf 1 oz gold couldn’t be happier
Fantastic coin!
What kind of plastic containers do you use? Where can I buy some? Thank you for your time!
They’re Air-Tite brand. Links are in the video description. Cheers!
I always enjoy your videos. Thank you.
Thank you - I appreciate that!
But Trying.
Good way to go!
Yes. Agreed 💯. Premiums are currently crazy. But, never had an issue getting "regular" premiums back on fractional.
✊
Thanks for the video! Great info! Just started collecting
Good luck!
Great Gold Coins video with good content as always. Keep it up! Saludos!
Thank you!
Great video! Thank you so much for the channel and awesome content. Take care.
Thanks for watching! ✊
Excellent content and review of the different types of Gold coins. Good options for discussion, thanks
Thanks for watching!
I don't have any but I'm tempted to get one 🤔 What do you think of the RCM
1oz Gold bar.
It's backed by a Sovereign Nation and they're very attractive.
I have a couple of the Silver version and wouldn't mind having one in Gold.
I think they look great too. Knowing you have other coins, I wouldn't be concerned. I just wouldn't start with bars. Cheers!
@@2is1gold 🥂 Cheers!
Thank you for your videos! I enjoyed watching it and started me into saving in Gold!
Fantastic! Thanks for the comment!
I just love your video, thanks for sharing. Subscribed
Thanks!
I like generic gold bars. Less of a premium allows me to stack more weight.
How do you feel about the government minted gold bars like RCM Maple Bar, Gold Britannia Bar, and Perth Mint Bars?
They look great, but I'm still avoiding bars. I know my local shops prefer coins. Cheers!
Excellent video with really good content and the extra length was enjoyable
Hey, thank you!
I agree, he shouldn't worry about his videos being too long.
I like them all... I agree though you should focus on where you live and buy the bullion coins closest!
Islands in the Pacific Ocean can do whatever they want, though! 🤙
What’s your take on royalty companies vs buying actual gold
I have been creeping and watching your videos for a week or two now… I am subscribed…
I’ve heard people mention the premiums are more today than they were in the past…… Is this the case?
Great information for rookie buyers of gold. The information on the ounces and the makeup of the coin are really important to know
Thanks!
10:31 - curious what you said about the 'philharmonic'. I think you meant to say 'Austrian', but my ears heard 'Australian'. I am old so it could be my hearing.
I've said Austrian Philharmonic hundreds of times, but it sounds like I fumbled there. 😄
Well said sir!! I like the eagles cause what you taught me. But my preference I like maples. Just the look and the purity lol. But eagles maples and Phil’s are my go to coins. I have one 5gram Perth mint bar I bought because it was a super good price from the lcs and come time to sell that one will have to be sold back to the lcs becaue the assay card is ripped and I know a private sale someone would be skeptical lol. But oh well. When spot goes up it won’t matter all that much. Stay safe!!
The Maple Leaf is potentially the best looking gold coin in my opinion. Cheers!
Sold my Perth 20gr bar plastic was coming off. Sold when gold was over 2000 so I made out ok.
Man I can't believe I wanst subscribed to you. I've been watching your videos and just noticed. Man I really love that swan
Thanks Ninja! Yeah, the Swan was a sleeper, but it’s one of my favorites. ✊
I appreciate your content! Should I trust Glint Pay?
I don't know enough about them. I'm aware of them but that's about it.
My top 3: 1. American Buffalo; 2. Maple Leaf; 3. Britannia
All great choices!
S D Bullion is hands down the best as far a price and availability with free shipping.
I will focus on buying more maple leafs. I hope to have 10 gold coins by the end of the year. I just received my first maple leaf in the mail today and will be buying a American Eagle and Buffalo as well. I also got some silver eagles and I bought the capsules to go with the coins as well.
That’s great! My top three coins. ✊
I just received my 2021 Armenia 1oz. Gold 50,000 Dram Noah's Ark in the mail today. Do you have any videos about this coin?
I don't. I've only seen it online. Cheers!
I have a tube of Noah's ark silver coins that are very good looking. Prob one of my favorite to look at so how did the gold turn out
I have sam
