She and her husband, Nick, founded the anti-human trafficking organization, The A21 Campaign, which works at the local, domestic, and international level to end modern-day slavery. They also founded Equip & Empower, a ministry that is mobilizing people everywhere to live on mission for Jesus. Propel Women is an initiative of the ministry dedicated to coming alongside women all over the globe to activate their God-given purpose. The ministry has also planted three life-giving Zoe Churches in Europe that are not only bringing the Gospel to the region, but also serve the most vulnerable through humanitarian outreach during times of crisis.

When I tell people my Rescue Me series is a fictional series about the real life issue of Human Trafficking, they turn away and say it's too dark. They give the "Ooooh. That's a tough subject. Thank you for writing about it, and they go back to their lives. 😢

It's very hard to hear of need when you have no means to help. Not everyone in the west/ Church has it easy/ comfortable, using $ frivolously; (I've heard this a lot at my own church over the years, assuming we would not be the ones in a position of threat). I'm in the U.S but abuse issues & especially how people dealt with it, (despite becoming a Christian at 17, studying ministry in college, pursuing a godly life, effort with 10 years in support groups/ reading/ study, etc), led to harm. In turn this left me in a position of danger, but I know God is with me. Part of the harm is that we have a mental health system that is totally failing abused woman with wrong answers/ downright life destructive harm, which contributed to putting me in a position of threat. And it's not my opinion; when I prayed about being failed by a therapist (who laughed at my severe problem, didn't listen, stirred up past abuse but did NOTHING then to help me work through it, with the only solution being drugging people & invading & disrupting your life, with no respect for all your effort for health), I heard an answer. As people tried to destroy my life to go to yet another therapist, but I prayed for God to be my Healer instead- that is EXACTLY what my daily Bible devotion spoke about, by Joyce Meyer: of being failed by a human therapist, with God as her Healer. I want to raise a voice about this. We have a huge, failing system that is destroying lives of people they could help. BE CAREFUL whose hands you put your life into! I choose God's hands, not an aggressive, destructive, failing system, that does not understand the true dynamics of struggles from being abused & is FAILING/ HARMING. Love wins.
