That seems to me a bit logical what you said, by the way what you said about Geoff arranging this one, if you look in the original music description you can see that he indeed arranged it. Geoff is really aware about his voice obviously other wise that low end that goes G1 F1 then E1 in subharmonics
I love her faces. Haha. And I love when you look up and caught her expressions haha. Great reaction, I love watching you two together breaking videos down!
Looking at the credits from the original video, Geoff arranged it... so yea it was him that was like, "And then I'm gonna go low, and then I'm gonna go high, and then I'm gonna go LOOOOW. People love that!" and he wasn't wrong.
Voiceplay has connections to Universal Studios in Orlando Some of them sang there. Word is this was shot there and the Grinch was the Theme Park Grinch .....
About your point at the end geoff arranges most of the songs they do. He made a video on his own channel about making it about 6 or 7 months ago you should check it out its interesting.
Seeing the evolution of Voiceplay has been phenomenal. If you look at some of their earlier videos, Be Our Guest & Friend Like Me, compared to some of their latest ones, Grinch/Oogie Boogie, their growth is all around amazing!!!
Him, along with the OTHER Bass Singers, going lower and lower makes the feel fulfilled I think. Plus, I think that they KNOW that those sounds, make the listeners, SHOCKED!!! And they like it. Just like any other performer does. LOL, and Emily was shocked.
I love this song as my youngest song used to sing bass in a ensemble and quartet when he was in highschool and he would break out singing it at home! I would smile!
The first Voice Play video I saw was "This is Halloween" in 2019. From that moment, I fell in love with this group. Geoff is just insane! I sang bass in my high school acapella choir... I can't even imagine what it takes to get that low! Today's my first time seeing your channel.. it's great seeing how others react to Geoff's amazing voice. Your fiancee is beautiful! You guys look like such a happy couple. I hit the subscribe button! 😉 Stay safe and healthy!
Him. “This dude hitting those note even human note” (Geoff) Me a sophomore in high school hitting first octave notes as low as a D1 and still going lower as I practice
Loved the Grinch in this. He didn't over act like Jim Carrey, "How the Mask Stole Christmas" was more like it. There are many great A Capella groups out there. Some are college groups, so their members change regularly, but they still manage to maintain high quality. BYU Vocal Point, the all female A Capella group BYU Noteworthy and UVU Voiceline are choice examples. Then there's Acapop Kids. And last the little know group Eclipse 6, a common comment for their videos is "Why doesn't this video have more views?" or "I thought this would have millions of views." The same response is true for the non-A Capella group Gentri, especially with original songs like "In A Blaze" and the life changing "Dare". The harmonies of these groups are equal to Home Free, Pentatonix, Voctive or Voiceplay and many others. And last for a truly unforgettable experience watch Google Translate Sings. It will have you rolling on the floor.
"It's inhuman!" Love this comment. It tickles me more so that I can actually sing along with Geoff. Truth be told, I'm still learning, so this last note is a challenge, but the rest I love to be able to sing with them.
I'm with you there Robert. Some of his lowest notes, I can't quite hit. It's been great watching Voiceplay for the past several years and seeing how all of their skills, ranges, and techniques have evolved and improved. Also, the way group has evolved, as a whole, has been fantastic, though it was always sad to lose members.
Same here! I sing in a new virtual a cappella group that I started where I arrange and do all the mixing for. I also sing bass in it so when we were thinking of doing this song, I knew I had to try and showcase some nice beef in it. you should check us out! I hit a half step higher than what Geoff hits! ua-cam.com/video/HximsNUoLuw/v-deo.html
Same here mate, i can just about hit an subharmonic E1, it did took a lot of practice and im sure my voice will eventually age so i hope to go a little lower
That ratio viewers/subscribers usually is static and is actually shows a healthy constant influx of new people discovering this niche of UA-cam. Doesn't mean you should stop telling people to sub but know that if you hit 100k and that ratio still looks strangely similar it's a good sign. Keep it up in 2021, hope you have a safe remainder of 2020 and a successful 2021!
Check out Home Free's version of 'Beautiful Star Of Bethlehem'. It features the Oak Ridge Boys as well. Austin has a solo in there that will blow your mind!
Every time I hear Voiceplay I get goosebumps. Enjoyed the reaction guys. Could you please react to Noel by Tommee Profitt I think you might like it. #BradicalBandwagon4Life
Okay, so it's not vocal, but I would love to see your reaction to The Piano Guys' "I Saw Three Ships" for one of your Christmas Sundays. It's worth the watch.
This is my favourite cover of this song, but I'd love to see you and Emily check out the Small Town Titans cover as well, it's something else. Also this is nothing to do with christmas but I'd love to see your reaction to Hypa Hypa by Eskimo Callboy, if nothing else to see your reaction to the incredible music video.
This was an impressive display of talent, but it's going to be a while before anyone displaces Small_Town_Titans as my favorite version of "Mr. GRinch".
Umm, I'm having a problem with the bass in this video. I have my head leaning against my wall, and when the bass kicks in, my walls vibrate so hard that I'm afraid of a concussion. :-) Note: my house is 80 years old, and built of wood. As my stereo is 100 watts per channel, you can probably guess how much my house vibrates to this. The low notes are at a resonant frequency to my house tends to amplify those. The Grinch is the most hateful character that I love.
Geoff kinda does keep getting lower - his voice is still the same bass-baritone, but he's constantly working on his subharmonic technique. Meanwhile, it's very encouraging for me to see y'all losing your minds over the bits of his range that I /can/ sing - particularly the bottom end of octave 2. I spend so much time hanging around the deepest singers in the world, I kinda forget that I'm still pretty low by normal-people standards.
I relate to the second part, I’m a trans guy which is odd to me, I didn’t expect to become a bass but here I am able to hit a decent B1. It’s literally so reassuring and encouraging, extreme gender euphoria for me.
@@sprumf Jackpot! I'm so happy for you - that's an awesome outcome. Just checked, and my lowest clean note right now is a D2. Two of my friends are currently on T - one seems to be settling around baritenor, and the other one can't tell yet. Basso profundo is a pretty great result, first puberty or second. ^_^
@@sprumf Voice type classification is kinda complex, but if you have a decent B1 then yeah you're very probably a basso profundo. Either way that's definitely a deep voice compared to most other men. If you want to know more and you're on FB, I highly recommend joining my group over there: "Octavism, Basstronomy, Choral" (I'm an admin).
Geoff arranged it, so nobody had to ask him to hit those low notes, he did it to himself
Brad: That note isn't even possible.
Geoff: Hold my beer.
😉
I believe Geoff the base arranged this one himself, so he is well aware of how low he can go!

I was saying that if he wasn't sure about his voice he wouldn't have all those low notes in the music
Check out Peter Hollins christmas movie medley Geoff is in that as well
I love her faces. Haha. And I love when you look up and caught her expressions haha. Great reaction, I love watching you two together breaking videos down!

Wonderful base and again he hits E1 the same as Oogie Booigie. Sounds great!
Wonderful bass, too.
the same B4 too
Adriana is 16. Just sayin.
No way she’s my age😶
I honestly thought she was like 23

I think the arrangements are split pretty half and half between Geoff and Layne, though Geoff def did this one.

9:05 ah yes! The 2 reactions to bass singing!
Geoff did the arrangement by the way.
No one else would dare ask him to hit some of those notes. So he does it himself.
@@leechowning2712 Layne absolutely does. LoL Layne arranged Oogie Boogie's Song.
