I was the owners caregiver there for 3 years until her passing a year ago. She was in her 90's and had lived there since a toddler. I never saw the upstairs because it was locked up. Seeing you walk through the house is surreal to me. I lived a country life as a child and so being here was a great joy to me. I was a trusted employee too and that was appreciated. A lot of my amateur camera shots of sunsets are from this farm.
Holy Cow Eileen! That is amazing! Did you ever go to Elma's Variety Store? We would always stop on our way to Ocean Shores. Last year we just happened to stop by and they were having a 70% off everything because they were closing shop. I was sooooo sad. I loved that place!!!!
Its so wonderful that you knew the lady that lived there her whole life. I am guessing it was in her family for quite some time. Not sure if they were the original owners but would be nice to preserve some of the history of the house.
@Cela Whitney I agree. It is a 60's fixture. I grew up with a similar one. I say keep it if you are going for a retro vibe in your home otherwise find it a loving home elsewhere.
Oh my... this will be a beautiful once you get thing out of the way! All those windows...! Fabulous! The stairway...fabulous! Was this a collectors home? I can’t believe all the things in there! Some I would love to get my hands on... but what a job for your guys.....yikes. Look forward to,following your journey!
Although I am happy for you, I find it sad that the previous owners left so much behind. It's as though they just vanished. Good luck with this project and thank you for the video.
Wow, I just love it!! It looks so pretty on the outside and you'll have it looking so wonderful on the inside. You really chose a beautiful farm and the best way to raise kids. We know. We live in a 1919 home in the middle of Minnesota. These type of houses are worth so much more than what they build today and charge a mint!! I'm originally from Seattle/Renton, so I know just where Monticello is!! Such a beautiful state and area you live in! I subbed to you and will follow you!! Looking forward to it!! Oh, and we dairy farm. We make good use of our farm and you will too! Wishing you the best!! Oh and keep the pull down lamp! That's a treasure with all your other treasures. You're sitting on a gold mine!!
You should seriously just get an antique booth and start funneling stuff into it. You have more than enough stuff to sell plus keep anything you love. Great place!
Wow! That place is amazing. Can’t believe of all the things they left behind. I’m hoping u appreciate old stuff cuz inside that house is some neat old things some could be valuable u never know for example that old book u found. It’s really a beautiful piece of property. I’m still shaking my head of all that was left behind. I hope u’ll try to keep as mush original . I too love the fruit n potato bins so cool. Looking forward to ur next video. Stay safe n congratulations on ur new home.
Wonderful old farmhouse, so full of character and old memories. Now YOUR family can make your own new memories. Shabby chic thrifters and antique collectors would love to find all the "stuff" left behind ! -- Best of luck to you in making this place your own.
Keep the hanging lamp. Painting it to match your new decor will bring new life to it. We had one too, when I was a little girl. Roxanne Lowe is a good friend and I am looking forward to seeing you bring her childhood home back to life and see those amazing babies of yours explore it all.
Thank you so much for your comment Susan! The hanging lamp is a treasure and we will be keeping it :) We love Roxanne and are so excited to invest our energy and love into making this our dream home! Thank you for following along, please keep the comments coming!
It's a beautiful house ! I remember seeing those light fixtures when I was a little girl . I had forgotten about them !! That's amazing that you found one that's in such good shape . I would keep it !! It's so cool !!
What a treasure trove of goodies! Someone’s whole life was left there. I love that your son sees the stuff left behind as “treasures”. I would agree. We had a pull down light just like that over our table when I was a kid. I love watching a young couple with children building a home together. It brings back great memories that I cherish with all my heart. Enjoy every moment together. 💕
Wow, what an amazing farmhouse! Such potential! Love all the character. And so many amazing pieces of furniture. How fun it would be to go through everything. Be careful not to throw away things. People will pay a lot of money for items like these. Just found your channel! Excited to follow you on your farmhouse adventures. Oh, and the pull down light fixture, as cool as it is, it’s definitely NOT farmhouse. Doesn’t suit the vibe of the character in that home. I had one almost exactly the same. I would definitely sell it though!
Thank you so much for all the kind words! Yes, so many great furniture pieces and we have plans for giving them a home in the completed farmhouse! We agree about the pull-down light fixture. It also didn't give off enough light for the space. New videos and updates coming this week!
A friend of mine was having a sale of things in her parents home after their death and it was full like your new farmstead, don't know how they lived in the clutter but apparently they too never got rid of anything!! One step at a time, slow and steady wins the race!
I just found your channel! I would have definitely bought that house too with all those treasures in there. I’m so excited to catch up on your journey I love old homes. It’s amazing how much stuff they just left. Was any of it worth anything? And I know you recorded this a year ago but I would have definitely have kept that retractable light it was pretty cool.
Y'all bought a gold mine to me I would be so excited to see all them antiques... Yes young lady keep all the light fixtures and lamps, and I agree I bought a house once he had carpet all over and had beautiful hardwood flooring in the whole house. We didn't wear a mask and we both were sick with sinus cold 😷. Good luck and God speed
Holy treasure trove!!! Congratulations 👏 wow! That is alot to take in. I'm sure you prob answered this, but what happened to the previous owners?? How sad. I'm excited to see what you do with the place. So many beautiful farmhouse elements, architecture and originals.. 😍
WOW!!! I collect antiques and you sure have some treasures there. If you decide to sell any of the antiques, I would get an a appraiser first, if you can afford to do so. You definitely have some money in the things that were left behind. For instance, the big glass mixing bowl you pulled out of the cabinet, if you have the set, it sells for over $50 and they it's pretty hard to find the set. I say, change the fixture in the dining room to a country light, if you are going to decorate in a country theme. Are you going to video the demo? By the way, I'm a new sub here. Love your channel so far.
My favorite short cut to the coast and Olympic Pen. Your home is beautiful! Homestead Heaven in that prosperous Valley! Dream come true😘😘💕💕💕✌🏻️✌🏻✌🏻🐾🌄🌄🎯
Very very very awsome wow thags just incredible its like the while entire home is a time caples i know for sure theres alot if things in there that could be worth alot if money or what i would do is all the antique class ware have that appraised i found tons of vintage glass ware in a estate sale amd goodness. Tons and tons of windows great investment oh yeag soes this home have a attic gosh if so i bet its amazingly full anither time caples is a attic in a old home Gosh its so awsome..
I am glad I stumbled upon your video house tour! Rather than a farmhouse, it's a Craftsman House. Craftsman architecture was common during the 1920s. There is a ton of information on this style that should give you inspiration when you rebuild the addition or replace some of the interiors. Enjoy your new adventure!
@@eileensmith7691 Thank you for your kind reply and for telling me that it was a Dairy Farm. I was thinking about architectural styles when I wrote my comment. Because there are outbuildings, I love the term farmstead or simply farm. Whatever, I am certain the restoration will be beautiful and historically sympathetic. I am grateful that you gave me more information about the property.
Just found this video, Sorting threw and moving out all of those things is so much work! Wishing you both decisive minds💕 i would suggest you set a limit to what you keep from all those wonderful treasures, maybe set a number of items you will keep. You dont want to end up with too many "things" to manage. I just saw a pull down lamp in a movie, I think it would be good to keep for charater and time period of the house. Excited for your families new journey.
What a job and labor of love you guys have decided to take on. Just clearing it out is a major task. I wish you the very best. Love old farm houses and beautiful pasture views!
WOW! Its so sad someone had to let go of all their belongings. That was their life left behind. I know you will love a lot of the old stuff and find a good home for the stuff you can't use or don't want. It will be exciting for you redoing this old farm house. Thank you for sharing. I hope to follow as you put all your special makeover ideas together in this new old home.
Keep the light fixture. I'm in my 50s and my childhood home had a similar one. We didn't often eat at the dining table, but we used it for homework and crafts. beautiful light from the windows. I am looking forward to seeing the hoards cleared out and reviving the structure. Must be a fortune in vintage stuff,
I was thinking the same thing. It is a lovely house for a family. At the same time it makes me feel sad looking at all that stuff. Peoples lives in all those boxes.
Beautiful home.. But, sad in the condition this it is in... Can't believe someone left all items behind... I purchased my forever home built in 1897.. Love it... So much cham... Enjoy the work...
Your place is beautiful! Just found your video by typing in 1920 farmhouse. My wife and I bought a farmhouse in Sagle Idaho built in 1920 on 5 acres with a huge red barn and wood shop December of 2020.We celebrated it's 100th birthday when we moved in! We found all kinds of treasures around but nothing close to your own instant antique shop!
Those metal Gerber baby food lids in that drawer -- we have a few, and ours look just like those, and are 1950s. I have a folding travel alarm clock like those on the bedroom shelf: 1970s, or maybe '60s. Kodak Insta-Matic camera from 1960s. We had a pull-down lamp like that in breakfast room (in our house built in 1959), but that type of design goes back decades before that. Wish I still had it. You've got lots of treasures, and I lot of stuff. Get an appraiser. Best of luck!
The light fixture was from a kitchen originally, and would have been for doing closer work etc. at a table, workroom...informal anyway. Common in the 60s especially in places where flexibility was needed.(50s or early 70s perhaps) Lovely corner shelf
I'm new. Glad I found you, but wow..... You've really got a lot of work to do. I'll be beautiful! I'd keep the pull down fixture, so unique. No telling what treasures you'll find. Can't wait until the final tour. Wow! Tfs.😀 Judy from Sweet home Alabama 😄
I had an Aunt Irene who kept a 'box' for me. Every visit I would hold my breath in anticipation! At some point she would say...."Oh, I almost forgot! I have a few things put away for you. Out would come that box FILLED with little treasures. It was so very special to me....
I was the owners caregiver there for 3 years until her passing a year ago. She was in her 90's and had lived there since a toddler. I never saw the upstairs because it was locked up. Eileen Smith wow that is an awesome back story to this beautiful home
Eileen Smith
Did the owner not have any family left❓
Holy Cow Eileen! That is amazing! Did you ever go to Elma's Variety Store? We would always stop on our way to Ocean Shores. Last year we just happened to stop by and they were having a 70% off everything because they were closing shop. I was sooooo sad. I loved that place!!!!
Come back and show what it look like after you clean it out.
Its so wonderful that you knew the lady that lived there her whole life. I am guessing it was in her family for quite some time. Not sure if they were the original owners but would be nice to preserve some of the history of the house.
Keep the light. It has character.
Someone left their whole "life" there. Treasure the findings......those items are so hard to find these days.
That's amazing! Your home came with its very own thrift store!
I literally just told my kids how much i wish i had a pull down lamp like my mom had. that is a TREASURE. keep it
yes ,keep the light
It’s so neat I love it
@Cela Whitney I agree. It is a 60's fixture. I grew up with a similar one. I say keep it if you are going for a retro vibe in your home otherwise find it a loving home elsewhere.

gorgeous house by the way.
when people ditch mid century and replace it with farmhouse or ikea a part of me dies
c 1920s house

Beautiful home....but kind of sad...that’s someone’s life was just left there....I am sure you will make it a wonderful family home
I was thinking about that too .
Was not just left there. Though she died her family was there to do what needed to be done until this young family wanted to buy it as is.
The outside looks so magical with all the greenery!!! I love it!
Reminds me of my house I had so much fun going through all the old stuff and I found so many antiques have to look through literally everything

My grandparents had a pull down lamp like yours-always loved theirs so I’d say keep it. I’m jealous of all the antiques in great condition I would keep to use throughout the house if I were in your shoes. Of course there’s a lot I’d sell as well. I wonder if there are neighbors who know something about the family who lived there to know the story of whose stuff and house you bought?
I love the pull down light!
You can keep the light in the dining room.
So much workvto be done... but it will be worth it in the end! Lovely farm! 👍 good luck 😉
If possible buy you a counter depth refrigerator. It will give you more space in your kitchen. Keep or sale all the vintage Pyrex. Wow the quilts in the closet. Dog could get lost in your house. When was the last time someone lived in this house? Thanks for the tour.
Hi Linda, thanks for your comment! The current kitchen is going to be demo'd and a new addition will be built in its place. We don't have an exact floor plan yet, but we will be doing a spacious kitchen (since we spend so much time in there). We will be keeping some of the pyrex, but will be selling most :) Either at the garage sales or on my IG page. Yes, so excited about those quilts!! The last resident passed away in December. Looking forward to seeing your progress!
What a treasure! A lot of work...a lot of fun finds! Definitely keep the light fixture.
Congrats on your farm house purchase! I enjoyed your tour and look so forward to seeing your improvements. Lots of treasures to behold.
Alot of antiques to keep.

It’s gonna be great! You got your work cut out for you! Ant wait to see what you do with it!
I just wonder what happened to the previous owners. All their possessions just left behind.
I was thinking the same thing.
It is a lovely house for a family.
At the same time it makes me
feel sad looking at all that stuff.

Thank you so much Karita! Thank you for following along, friend!
How cool to get a house with all those things to dig through.

Why do people always add the ANNOYING repetitive background music?! I turn the video off as soon I hear the horrible music.

It’s is definitely a gem… full of history and amazing objects… congratulations, I love it. 👏👏👏👏
