You found the one person in every state that doesnt know anything about their states slang.
Lesli Abdelgani 😂🤣
Lesli Abdelgani YES THIS IS TRUE!
Jit in Florida was one of the few good examples, the youth jails are called jit camps. Michigan was so under-represented but it's a state that's dramatically different depending where you live. In Michigan people tend to add an s at the end of companies named after someone. 'Fords', 'Meijers' etc.
NOBODY SAYS BOY BYE IN MARYLAND WTF
Lesli Abdelgani yea they could’ve gotten younger kids
its so disappointing when ur state gives a bad answer
Silver Skull ik ,they had one job
Yeah they're like talking about em selves
Washington’s sucked 😂I didn’t even know what he was talking about
@ ohio....
Silver Skull Louisiana
California’s should have been “like, like, like, like...”
:3 :3 I hate how that’s so true
and you know
This is a fact
He said that for the accents video
Hella hella hella
Why did Georgia not say "Bless Your Heart."
It's used as in insult 95% of the time. Essentially, you're calling them a block head.
Moolala that’s what we use it for in Texas
Basically anywhere in the south, like Texas, does that,
more like tennessee
CupcakeABC oddly enough it’s pretty big in NW Pennsylvania too
Texas and Georgia are the most southern states
Who else was disappointed by their representative
Andy Pham California. Too gentrified. Yes we have all that but he missed the all encompassing “like” and an evolved form of mall speech with everything being inflected into a question.
I don't know anyone in Washington who says that
The NY guy didn’t even share anything.
Man Maryland really disappointed me...
Yeah.... no idea what a stickman is
I think they should've used a younger generation.
Then they would've just used internet slang
Ikr who “oh for cute” sounds something like my grandma would say
Jeanette Martinez True but some of them didn't come up with good ones
Eri Rav yeah
For new Jersey the should've used bet, aight, yurr,
how could he leave out “hella” for California
Or dope
Like 😩
So Cal doesn’t use it
or gnarly
Sevira Asynjur I’ve literally never heard anyone say that, and I’ve travelled up and down California 💀 that’s literally one of the stereotypes people use when thinking of Californians because “we’re all surfers” and “say gnarly or bro”
New york slang changes constantly. "Deadass" is one that has been around for a long time and probably isn't going anywhere. My mother who's in her late 50s says deadass.
Lol no! It hasn’t and it won’t! Bronx boy here
What about treesh
Deadass?
Why -and I cannot stress this enough- won’t they put the mf states in alphabetical order!?
ikr
It's to keep you watching lmao
They probably figure if you can just skip to the states you want, people won't watch the full videos, so they organize it randomly (that's my theory, anyway haha)
Because then that Alaska joke would suck
It’s only a 4 minute video. Relax. It makes the video more cohesive
To make you watch the whole video
I KNOW THE CALIFORNIA GUY DID NOT JUST SAY “dude, rad , i’m stoked “
i live in cali and that one hurt my soul
hella hellla hella HELLLLA is the major one
Rubi De lara lol hey 1984 we want our slang back
It should have been the word LIKE 😂
Tae’Lyn Lewis
YESSS “LIKE”
I've lived in Washington my whole life and I've never heard that's hella gnar gnar in the pow pow in my life.
lots of people in Oregon say "Howdy, ya'll, ain't" Portland is their own thing. even they don't say soda-pop
SAMEEEEE
I've never heard it either. And I call "pop" soda.. but I'm the weird one in my family for that.
Yeah it was weird

Baptists, Methodists, and Catholics would definitely kick their bike riding special underwear asses.
I live in Utah and ive traveled a bit and it is one of the most religious and judgemental state I've ever been in
@@xandro2445 the point is that Utah is a more religious state. Our government is practically owned by the Mormons.

Army!!!
I say that all the time. If something falls down or any mistake or a accident or whatever. This isn't a thing elsewhere?
Minnesotans always say ope
Oregonians say ope a lot lol
Ope, sorry there
Connecticut: lit
Ny: we don’t use lit no more
We be shading
Sara Couch what happen to the B or deadass son
I still say lit tho..
lmao i live in new york, me and my friends were using "lit" and "fam" as a joke

When you get people who know nothing about their state except the Hawaiian girl

Well, no, Alaska's was also very accurate LOL
What did you do to Skai?😭
Illinois: "We say hella a lot."
California: "You hella stole our slang."
hella hella weird...
another one y’all got, but we don’t, is how y’all call the freeway the expressway.
i really just waited 4 minutes and 15 seconds to hear the New Jersey guy say “down the shore”
Karla Suasnavar lmaooooo ikr😭
Lol so true
Karla Suasnavar RIGHT WE HAVE SO MUCH SLANG MORE THAN THAT LMAOOOO
he probably only thought of that because New Jersey is boring

Ok but as a Washingtonian I had no clue wtf that guy was saying I don't think we really have slang
@@girl.liker4205 i agree plus it rarely snows here
When has that been a conversation hey man how was ur day,it was hella nar nar in the pow pow man😂
Yea Washington is almost a lil bit of every state but idk wtf nar nar pow pow is lol
for Montana a much better one would be the word perfect used for everything. Waitress comes to ask how is everything, you reply perfect. Then she might also say perfect before walking away.
Poor Alaska.... Oh, Bless their hearts.
That guy's probably a cheechako (a newcomer)
nah my Alaska man is right tho we still waitin on some slang of our own rip I was thinking about what slang we might have the whole video and then it got to him and I was like yep this is accurate lol

Everyone else: *Bumps in someone* “I’m sorry” or “excuse me”
Wisconsinites: *Bumps into someone* “Ope”
Ohioans too 😂🤦🏻♀️ it’s usually “Ope, Sorry let me just scoot on past ya”
We do that in Illinois too! We also say "up!" "oops!" "whoop!" "pardon!" We say a lot of different things for "sorry" when we have to say sorry.
Ex: You're trying to get past someone at the movies and the movie is currently running. "Oop, sorry, excuse me, sorry, I'm so sorry, um, sorry, I-, sorry, pardon me, uh, excuse me, sorry!"
CallMeKarma YES. As an Ohioan I say Ope so much, and it’s crazy other people don’t say that!! Ohio lady was terrible! We also say “yeah no” and “no yeah no” and “yeah no for sure totally!”
grace gsf I never realized that other Ohioans do that to answer questions 🤣🤣 thank the lord it’s not just me.

BOTO
They should’ve done with like teenagers
🙊
Exactly. “Boy bye” is not slang 🙄
Av ゲーマー exactly
lol, when you don't know whether it's should've or should of, so you use both :D
They should've gone with even older folks, actually, because so many people communicate and move outside their native communities nowadays whereby a lot of slang is just crossing boundaries.
GUMMYBEAYUH older folks only know older slang, that’s why they didn’t use them. It wouldn’t be up to date
Florida on point wit tha “Jit”
she said “don’t bring your little jitt brother” people in miami do not say all of that
@@darnique346
Yeah “jit” itself identifies that it’s a youngin. “Don’t bring that jit” would’ve worked.
@@darnique346 If a friend says he needs to bring his little bro, the proper response (in current slang culture) would be "nah bih, dont bring that lil jit"
@@darnique346 no one anywhere says all of that. Someone told her what to say. Im convinced shes never uswd jit.
Jit is was more used back in the 90's, I can't recall the last time I heard that or at least as often
For Utah “sluff” would’ve been a good one to say. We say it as “I sluffed school today”, basically meaning skipped, and apparently it’s a very odd term to those outside of Utah.
oh that's a good one
slough
"thats hella nar nar in the pow pow"

hella is bay area. nar nar (gnarly) is so cal. both are CA.

Caydence McGory bruh you got the ranch?
wow, the California man is so accurate, if this was 30-40 years ago.
nOONE says rad
Lol.
Race, region, ethnicity, age, religion, and ability to speak determines the accent. Plain and simple
Except for rad
I say rad and awesome.
Life long Alabamian and I never use “bless your heart” as a slight. It’s always heartfelt because someone is hurt, going through something or they’ve done something sweet or kind.
Oh nah, in the black community here we be usin that to throw shade all the time
I’ve lived in Alabama my whole life too, I’ve only used a handful of times, but normally when I say it I’m kinda like joking around
The Hawaiian girl seems like the only one who knows what she’s talking about

Since when is Nebraska “proper”, this girl didn’t do Nebraska justice 😂
GeekLife 720 ye ye
Nebraska gets looked at as boring and it’s so annoying
As someone in NC, can I can attest that we do use pet names as nicknames for everyone, even strangers. It's part of that Southern heritage that never left.
and I’m cool with that! especially my soulful side. I say bro, sista, baby, honey! if we talking music, and I’m like, baby, listen!
I've lived in Minnesota my whole life and I've never heard anyone say oh, for cute before. Am I weird??
no, but when i went to florida for a school trip people made fun of the way we pronounce boat or our state.
For cute, as far as I can tell, is slang that was present up on the range at one point but has faded over time. No it’s just an exaggeration of reality, kinda on the same level as the characters in Fargo. Also, her definition was totally wrong.
Idk, I know people there and they say it so 🤷🏻♀️ 🤷🏻♂️
Nobody:
Texas: Y’all

Daniel Scully not even soda pop, just pop lol
Well there’s also: Howdy, Bless Your Heart, and Coke (referring to all sodas)

I was trying to think of a Florida slang word and jit was the only one that came to mind... she got it spot on!
“It takes slang a long time to reach Alaska we are still waiting to get some.” I’ve never heard anything more true in my whole life.

People say “hella” a lot but not naR nAR iN tHe poW pOW
As someone who’s lived in New Mexico I can say confidently one of the most confusing slang/colloquialisms is calling every carbonate beverage “coke” because they’ll say “you wanna a coke” and hand you a Mountain Dew or other kind of soda
It's not soda, it's pop in the civilized world. AKA Minnesota
In Utah, instead of saying faceplanted we say “biffed” it like “oh I biffed it really bad”
The whole midwest says “ope” when we accidentally bump in to people
Yesss
I say that too, cuz I spent all summer out west for 14 years. I have southern and Western slang/accents
“ope lemme just squeeze right passed ya”
You are actually completely correct sir
In Texas a lot of people say ops
the "bless his/her heart" part got me ROLLING

Lol we got dat frick
Like hella nar nar in the pow pow?!?!?
Seriously!🤦♀️
nor cal and so cal will have different opinions on that
Hes only representing the coast amd valley not literally anywhere else
Authentic Oregon coast slang term “burn off”. So we’d say “oh the fog’ll burn off and then we’ll go outside n play” meaning that in the mornings when it’s chilly, there’s a thick layer of marine fog but then it will go away when the sun warms up. Some places in Oregon have a slight California valley girl twinge, other places slightly have a mid-west influence in a similar way that Washington does. My family in Washington definitely says “warsh” and we all grew up saying “pop” lol
They should’ve brought in us teenagers and not even ask us what slang we use but just like talk to use because we are gonna end up using a lot of slang 😂
The Washington guy really did his state dirty. No one here says “that’s nar nar in the pow pow.” Like, WHAT IS THAT?!?!?
Big yes gamer
* ari andrada * I’ve lived in Washington my entire life and I have NEVER heard someone say that
He also said that people say pop nobody says pop lol
Same for Wisconsin. I’m legit mad at that dude-
More than half of Washingtonians were not born in Washington, so not surprising that a non-Washingtonian is representing us. He seems very Californian. They make up 9% of us so not that much of a shot in the dark.
New Jersey "Down the shore"

4:36 So it takes slang a long time to reach Alaska? 😂 May be it froze when it reached there.
I actually thought States like Hawaii, Louisiana, New Mexico, Maine, etc would've more slangs due to languages other than English also being spoken there natively. So some Creolised slangs could easily exist there.
washington dude: that’s hella gnar gnar in the pow pow, that’s hella gnarly in the powdered snow

I don't know if any other state says this but in Maryland we say DMV which stands for D.C., Maryland, and Virgina and you usually will it the name pop up about 7 times a day on the car radio or news.
Another one for idaho is gems for tater tots because we have a lot of gems, we have fry sauce too
Alaska: "We're still waiting to get some" I'm dyiiing
Why bring people who probably don’t use slang at all🤔🤔
Gonna start using bless your heart.
The NY is spot on! 😂 Two other bigs ones are "How you doin?" And "EH?" If your confused, asking, or being rude
