I am French and I confirm that in France we pay no tax whatsoever for motorways or national roads.
I also prefer to pay the toll for what I drive than to pay a tax every year.
Road tax does not exist any more the tax is based on how much the car pollutes

I love adaptive cruise control when you want a relaxed drive but goes out the window when driving quick. Mpg is pretty good considering how you were driving

Great video and totally enjoyed it. I haven’t driven on that part of the M25 or used the Eurotunnel in two years. Yes that weird how I used to drive through France, Belgium and into Holland without having to show anything. The green seatbelts look awesome mate.
I HATE people who cannot drive in the left lane. I think they were all stars on Jim'll fix it, or they want to be Jimmy. The left lane is not for trucks, or shit cars, its FOR EVERYONE who is not overtaking. So if your driving along and there is nothing to over take to your left, MOVE LEFT until you need to move right and overtake. THEN, you move left again. You see trucks doing it when they over take a shit box. I think you should make an educational video showing people how to drive.

Another great vid. We spent 6 years living in Germany in the late 80's and 90's, we had to take an additional theory driving test to drive. Back then all of the autobahns were unrestricted and it was only the odd speed limit around busy junctions and cities that had speed limits, but the polizei enforced that quite rigorously, and even back then they were using the portable tripod speed cameras, oh and the polizei cars were green and white back then a bit harder to spot. I've still got the photos somewhere to prove it. As we lived on the Dutch border we spent a lot of time driving in holland where the police were a lot more ruthless on speeding, my mate had a new M3 E30 which the police took off him for speeding noand he had to get a taxi back home. Great roads, great fun, great beer and great times.

The RS3 seems to be decent on the old fuel consumption poss because of the box from racing line? I know after I fitted my tuning box I got a lot better mpg. I was cruising down to London same day you were and would have liked your trip more than mine!! Looking forward to the next update :)

Great content couple of points-
1. Reason no french police on tolls roads is that you are timed between tolls and average speed calculated.
Please note local police building immediately at exit of toll booths and will be pulled over.
Police normally very fair but of course there are exceptions.
2. Highway Code allows undertaking on inside lanes only if matching speed of your lane and not using as a way to cross over into other lanes to get ahead.

When you first got those belts installed in the RS3 I commented saying I wasn't so sure about them, I think I've changed my mind. They look pretty minted.

I am surprised that you did not have the Libet T windscreen tag to save all that faffing about at the tolls. That little bit of road at Reims has a posted speed limit of 80 kph which everybody including locals ignore

That terrible lane discipline is an English thing unfortunately. Travel north onto the M74 and go onto the M8 and it's nowhere near as bad.

Im english living in scotland. The lane discipline is better in scotland. But the motorways are mostly only 2 lanes wide which is a pain in the hole when wagons are passing each other
It's the same in Ireland. We have fuck all motorways and most of the drivers don't know how to use them at all.
@@andy2200a Yeah other than the M74 and M8, everything else is dual lanes. Some trucks like to race each other over the course of 7 miles so they can arrive at their depot 19 seconds earlier.
@@bencarr79 It's definitely not. I average around 50k miles a year and as soon as you get south of Gretna it turns to shit.

No road tax in France. You do pay something when you buy and register a car.
At the Toll booths if you get a Tag for your car you can go through the T lanes, you don't need to get a ticket and you don't stop as barriers automatically - can go through some at 50kph. Called a Liber-T tag. You can get one in UK.
Roads in France are pretty well maintained.
I think you should give the wife's a camera aswell let them video trying to follow yous and getting lost 🤣

No worries about fines lads, I travel europe every week, setting speed cameras off as I got from France to Poland to Spain, never had a fine, but if they catch you they will fine you

Why on earth would you drive through France with it's road tolls and speed limits when you can drive straight across to Germany from the tunnel?.
I can get from West London to just outside Venice in 19hrs that way
Crossing Germany from the Tunnel? There is Belgium with a lot of works and limited to 120 km/h. France has highways at 130km/h and fluid.
@@waltsous8664 France is full of Gendarmes who will target GB cars for any minor infringement, Germany is much easier and less stress.
