"Decenzo is one of the most underrated skaters of all time" - couldn't agree more
If he would have been on a bigger board brand he’d be more well known. Gotta respect the loyalty to his brand though
facts
I've always said that man he truly is and he's still killing it at sls to this day he's truly an epics rider forsure
I would throw Jeff Dechesare in there too
Homeboy NOLLIED El Toro, and nobody cared...

That Sheckler kickflip is my favorite, so many places it could go spectacularly wrong.
Great huck! If you’re curious where that’s at, it’s the Costco in Laguna Niguel on the corner of Cabot and Crown Valley Pkwy.
Get your "I still cant even kickflip yet..." tickets here 🎟
Can’t even Ollie yet
Rightt here, i hope its gonna happen 2024 tho 😂
@@GWNDaanyt you got this!
I've done a few actually. First one in 2023! When people yell that at me I just smile and tell them I forget how and ask them to show me. 😅
@@rickyglaser thanks man, i can Ollie rn and am working on the pop-shove but in a whole year i think it should be possible, if not 2025 for sure 😂
Idk if it would be one of the gnarliest of all time but Garrett's kickflip over the L.A river was also pretty dope too
DAMN TRUE
The unbound narcissism and idiocy it would take for me to jump down the scheckler drop is unfathomable. Go figure that someone who doesn't make a living jumping down massive things would break bones jumping down a massive thing.
Agree and like ricky said the wheels reduce the force by a good bit. Probably a good 20-30 percent. Been skating 20 years myself and always loved jumping down things but my biggestr is 12 stairs. Did a fs 180
The switch kickflip that Mike Mo did in fully flared intro was the most iconic and gnarliest of all time.
Truee!!
that whole intro is so cool and also cracks me up at the same time. it all looks super cool and memorable, and it hilarious watching a couple of them just get smoked by the pyrotechnics
That's my vote too, best intro ever.
Plus didn’t he do it perfectly like 9 times in a row to test for the shot?
The backstories you tell abt the clips make them way better, they really give some character to the tricks
I know its old but Gerwers wallenberg flip is notable for the OGs at least. Wasnt it like ten years between gonz's ollie and the kickflip?
Shecklers tail drop kickflip is the gnarliest thing to go down in 2023 imo.
Top tier list, that Enzo guy's kickflip broke IG when it came out too. Super slept on overall though, thanks for the great list.
thank you for showing ryans kickflip over the 9flat9 it was GNAR
Can't believe you didn't include my kick flip I did in the grass last week.... 😢
😂
Decenzo is one of the most underrated skaters of all time. Nice video!
That sheckler kickflip was insane. Decenzo is the man
Art Cordova newest kickflip is massive and perfect.
Just a quick correction the Davis gap is located in Davis California, not Sacramento!
Haha fair
Ryan Sheckler Kickflip Tail Drop off Encinitas sign is insane also!
Jeremy Wray certainly has some notable ones out there. A massively high mid-90s (or so) one out of a bowl comes to mind. Danny Gonzales also had a huge one over some street (SF?) going downhill. Josh Kasper certainly had a few huge ones down gaps/stairs as well. Mostly older ones there, but hey... that's my era. Now... an entirely subjective one, perhaps... but... what about the most beautiful kickflip? I'd say Tom Penny had some of the best looking ones ever.
The most beautiful kickflip ever IMO is Brandon Westgate´s bump to rail in the middle of his emerica "new shoe" part 2011. Worth looking up!
Shame how Phelps black listed Danny Gonzalez literally had the whole Industry against him just because of his name lame Thrasher
@@colossalfart Will have to look that one up!
@@josephpaerau9144 Indeed! Heard rumblings about this... such a pathetic move. Part of why I got a distaste for Thrasher. Early Big Brother was more my style, back in the day. Always felt that Transworld was a bit too "clean", at least on the magazine side--- they put out some of the best stuff though
@@colossalfart Watched it now. Great part, and I can see what you mean about the kickflip. Lots of power and flare
damn, i never saw that ENZO kickflip before. so impressive... he also did that 20 stair gorgeous hardflip (biggest hardflip ever?)... def deserves more attention than he ever got.....
What hardlfip? Just tried finding it and couldn’t
just search enzo hardflip, theres a rough cut and a magnified video of it@@douglassmith9445
@@douglassmith9445 yeah hes insane!!! its not quite 20 if i recall, i think its in a krux videopart
@@douglassmith9445 ua-cam.com/video/zLocYkyzx3M/v-deo.html
@@rickyglaser pretty sure it's 20 ! - ua-cam.com/video/zLocYkyzx3M/v-deo.html
This vid for some reason feel higher quality then most reaction vids you made earlier 👍
Nicely done 🤟
yeah im doing it differently now, thanks for the feedback!
6:55 Ryan is the nicest guy. I ran into him (literally) at a park one time. Totally my mistake and I screwed up his trick but he just let it roll off his back and gave the traditional "ah, you're good man". Very chill dude.
Which ryan
What’s he going to do? Shoot you? Like just cause someone says “it’s all good” because they have to try their trick again isn’t enough to have a true sense of their character. I heard he was actually a douche bag.
@@FloridaMan786I've seen amateurs treat kids like crap, just for getting in their way of little warm up tricks. I'm sure Ryan has some flaws. Fame gets to everyone's head but when it comes to respecting your fellow skater at the park, Ryan is completely on point. Little things like stopping a strangers board from hitting a wall when they slide out of a trick.
Oh yeah I met him in NC and he was so nice. Gave my friend his board. We talked about different ways to play games of skate and all kinds of stuff. Tricks he’d done, namely the tail drop off that overpass in Thailand. Was a great experience and everyone had a great time and story about meeting him.
@@FloridaMan786 I met him when he came to parisite skatepark in new orleans. We talked while skating, he took a pic and was overall a really cool dude. Later gave me and a few others a board. He was my fav skater when I was a kid. I didn't tell him but I respect him more after meeting him. Everybody has off days
Gotta say that Kirby's kickflip over the driveway in Deathwish Uncrossed blew me away. The airtime is insane and the style too good. Check how his feet how hover over the board as it flips and the catch is perfectly timed. That's a great one.
Bachinsky el toro was insane!
Milton #1 for me. Good edit, very pleasant to watch. David Gonzales has a crazy kickflip in a bank too. And Reynolds down Bercy 5 blocks is iconic too - but harder tricks have been done there since.
That kid breaking both his ankles is priceless
not for that kid, i bet it was very pricey lol
David Gonzalez’s into the ditch
Enjoyed every minute and every flip. Thank you.
I Ollied over that rail into the road / bank that Merlino kickflipped in long Beach, and the downhill landing definitely makes it significantly more of a hindrance than anything. Super awkward landing
Awesome! How many stairs was it?
@@rickyglaser I can’t actually remember, it was a long time ago now. I’m not sure if I even counted at the time. I want to say maybe 17 - 18ish. The top set was a 12, then theres a flat and another set of stairs that go down below the level of the road. I’d say there was probably 5 - 6 stairs before it would have been level with the road surface. I could be wrong, but that’s going off my vague memory
I remember kickflipping 5 steps and homies thought I was gnarly. That was 25 yrs ago. Progression of skating is pure and beautiful!
Totaly agree with you about "Decenso is one of the most underrated skaters of all time" He does the biggest shit, He probably now got the biggest kickflip AND 360flip
2:45 it was in a Transworld video in the late oughts. Just 2-3 years later someone sw heelflipped that gap.
That may have been Tony Tave
Oh dayum, the policy 😅
One of the most underrated for sure.
I’m not knocking Jaws because he’s fucking incredible and the kick flip melons are insane but I like the kick flip by itself way better
I agree shecklers Costco gap is the best kickflip ever done.
Ryan Decenzo is a legend. He was really underrated but now that he’s been in the Olympics I feel like he’s gotten a bit more of the recognition he deserves.
Honorable mentions:
1.) Kickflip down Carlsbad Gap with Kris Markovich. Him and Rob Dyrdek were trying to battle it for the cover of the Transworld Magazine in the early 90's.
2.) Frank Gerwer Kickflip Wallenberg 4.
3.) Mark Gonzales Kickflip The Gonz Gap.
Didn't Markovich kickflip the Frankie Hill-gap as well?
The gnarliest kickflip I've ever seen was done by my homie, Bryant Chapo, from the top of the interstate into a bank here in Albuquerque. I don't know what happened to that clip, but Milton did almost the same trick years later, after spending some time here. It's legit one of the illest things I've ever seen done on a board.
Diego Najera Kickflip picnic table the long ways sickest KF in Flat ever
Decenzo is always on gnarly/iconic lists. Dude's a beast 👏👏
I’ll give this one to Milton all day. Not only is that a crazy spot the fact that he got smoked and had his ankle turned around and went back and still skated it.
Man the crazy stuff we do when we are young. Unfortunately all this slamming ourselves around sticks with you and can linger for the rest of our lives. All my sports injuries and crazy stuff I did as a youngster hurts like hell now that I’m older.
Yo I was anxious that decenzos kickflip wouldn’t show up. Kudos for putting it into the top spot - it’s so huge, he does it perfectly, even with a small shifty in there. Then if you take into account that it wasn’t a hyped up summer session with your homies, but like a single session during colder weather with him being the only one hitting the stairs…. And he’s so humble about it. Nice vid dude
Ryan is humble about everything. I live a couple minutes from the house he grew up in. He has not let success go to his head.
miltons was insane bc he literally snapped his leg there and than went back to kf it that is actually insane
Okay the Decenzo footy is two different sets
yeah i forgot to mention when he goes back it was under construction but he does the sister one instead
This some gnarly skating.
no clickbait :)
He was known before that massive el toro kickflip ..multiple parts out by then
yeah i know, i think it was the first time I personally had heard of him is what i was saying
I agree with you both ENZO and Ryan Decenzo are underrated like crazy.
I skated with ENZO when I was like 15 at Skatecity in Las Vegas when his mom owned it.
that was like 14 years ago... dayum
Over the fence parking lot drop by Ryan, Milton into the bank off the roof, Dave kickflip el toro- easily are some of the craziest straight kickflips. *Could you do a video on shiffty kickflips? I loved those back around the baker 3 days
Before finishing the vid, I have to say Shecklers kickflip "costco??" gap should probably take gnarliest kickflip.
Edit: How could I forget Decenzo and Milton, of course theirs are right there with Sheckler without a doubt!
love the past and future style comment!
First of all, another vote for a part 2. What about Scheck's kicflip drop in thing at that weird rock wall to bank in his latest video part? Also, regardless, the gnarliest kickflip of all time is Milton Martinez at the Sunset car wash, hands down. Even if he HADN'T broken his leg at the same spot a year before.
That video of nuges kickflip was from "bake and destroy" the 09 video that came in a special edition thrasher
Thanks amigo. It was nice seeing all of these back to back like this.
I think it would’ve been good to add Sheckler’s giant kick flip over that wall to a parking lot … sorry I don’t know where it was, you can find it on UA-cam, UA-cam in a video called Ryan Sheckler biggest gaps @ 3:00
I wonder if anyone can kick flip the Lyon 25?? I bet someone can, I pray to God that someone does.
When I say it out the window people just Shrug like they don't know what it is. 😂
Nuge's kickflip was from the Foundation video I believe
Not entirely sure because it was a long time ago, but I think Nuge's kickflip was from a Foundation part. Pretty sure he was riding for them when this happened, it was in Thrasher
That car wash spot is so gnarly I climbed up just to get perspective. Had no intention of doing anything not like I could I’m not that type of animal. But just climbing up was fear inducing. I had to climb back down real quick cause I was getting almost like a panic attack . All these skaters and their kickflips so sick but seeing the car wash in person is just ridiculous
Cook & phillip 17! Don't forget that one legend!
Im actually so annoyed i forgot it
I heard "the nolliest kickflips of all time" and got excited
lol i could make that vid
Enzo cautela kick flip is nuts that spot is in Denver like a 2 miles from downtown red park. And honestly that's the gnarliest that spot doesn't even have a landing right beside the river gnar gnar
Sheckler's other more recent one down the slope is sick too
Nobody knew Dave at the time except Dave's homies
What about the Kickflip of Jamie Tancowny on his Zero Strange World part, that was massive
Can't recall the Baker dude's name but he kick flipped that huge street gap in San Diego. Should def be on the list.
Decenzo's name must be near the top of the list of "highest number of huge kickflips ever done".
18 stairs wowza! The last huck was just brilliant scary
Sheckler hater: "That's not that high"
*Jumps gap and immediately breaks both of his ankles*
It must be a huge sacrifice to break an ankle and not skate for a whole year. But then imagine coming back and doing it again. You would have to be a little crazy
Not sure why they are putting their bodies on the line on these massive drops, bragging rights? is it even worth it? to shorten career span? For me doing a highly technical trick off a 10 is more impressive from a skill viewpoint.
well, one could argue you can get hurt in any type of trick, I get hurt from just falling on flatground tricks 😄
Frank Grewer's kickflip on Wallenberg was super epic when that first came out...A bit old though.
Jaws clear the gap of skating some parts
ZERO New Blood, Tommy Sandoval, his opening clip with his Kickflip.. man oh man it's good.
Dunno if it counts, but chris joslins 360 kickflip over this huge stair set in germany is pretty crazy.
At 6:40 that set is in denver by the river next to the skatepark
Damn, I can't even watch those breaks, just kills me, man.
For me the best is Sheckler’s. Dude was just floating and catches it so high above the death gate. Run up doesn’t look easy either. To this day I haven’t seen a gnarlier one and it’s been like a decade. Nobody else has ever skated that spot so you know it’s crazy.
I’d put Decenzo 2nd and Bachinsky 3rd (long 18 vs standard 20 so it’s super close).
whats the biggest gap/stairs you've kickflipped? btw W vid
bro i got FOUR of these "do a kickflip!" people in 30 minutes the other day. Its so funny.
Especially when you're actually pretty decent and really comfortable on your board- then EVERYONE asks you lol
I've landed a cpl kickflips .none moving yet. I'm like Gabe- My first flip trick was the varial flip and I'm really good at those rofl.
Knox Godoy…a long time ago he had a birdhouse ad in a big brother…kf a huge set…Ad was lik a photo sequence and all silver…was really dope had it on my wall as a kid…didn’t know if y’all wud mention it…wudda been cool cuz I nvr saw the footage n haven’t thought about it for a long time🍻
I mean, if the time between the kickflip and a harder trick is substantial it just tells you how crazy the kickflip was at the time, doesn't take a way from it. Also, stuff like Davis gap is still nuts to this day, Joslin is just a freak of nature
I think you should have included Ryan sketchler tail drop kick flip
i broke my ankle and shattered my foot 1st session last year smh(i just turned 37 so was 36atm. when the shecks gap came on all i could think about was bro snapping both his ankles jumping down it....and then we see it #ptsd lol
Madmen! Big respect! Xx
The clip of Enzo Cautela is in Denver I live two hours away always heard about that spot pretty sure it’s a 20 stair 😳
Dave is actually a good friend of mine and I filmed him for a few years… after this happened… I will have to ask him but pretty sure he’s skates a 7.5!!
What's your best kickflip Ricky? Great vid 👍🏻
damn good question
When I first saw Shecks kickflip in Transworld....I didn't believe it at the time
dave was a solidified east coast legend by the time he kickflipped el toro.. Go back and watch all his thanks camera parts
Decenzo is the number 1 most underrated skater
Damnit. I clicked this just to get a glimpse and got drug in. Great video.
Haha enjoy
Ryan Sheckler is the Back Street Boys of skateboarding 😂
i agree about decenzo being underated, he is 38 and still competing, i think he has the biggest 360 flip on a 18 stair or something... im 38 aswell and wish i could still skate but everytie i try i hurt myself and it puts me off for months
the skate gods appreciate you highlighting historic tricks.
I always liked Haslam's kickflip fakie in round 3.
u missed my kickflip hahahaha
I did a kickflip in grass one time
Am i wrong, or did I see two different stair sets in the Decenzo part?
You're right, decenzo's is the heaviest.. I remember a big one from heath kirchart, or possibly only kickflip attempts down a white big 6 block.. Filmed from the side and i think jamie thomas ollied it.. Intro to TWS - I.E maybe? Or maybe an On Video or 411...
Heath never landed it. He only tried it that one time.
(Y)@@jasondashney
"Davis Gap in Sacramento", lmao. The Davis gap is in, Davis. It's in the name of the gap 😂
Not the gnarliest but Maurio McCoy has the best looking kickflip out there today
Big caaaap. Louie, BA, Kader and so many more that have s lot more character to their kickflips
