@cmcmc7647 Yay! I hope you love it when you use it! I really like the way the matte black looks. If you feel like sharing your thoughts about writing with it when it arrives, please let me know. 😊
Ha! That is the same pen/ink combo I have, except I have a M nib. 👍🏾 I was going to put Captain Hook in a different pen, but had to wait until it was empty. Then I got the TWSBI and decided that a red ink would look good sloshing around in it. I also fill and clean my 580's with a syringe too. 😏
@MarshaLove0723 Hi Marsha, this combo does look good, doesn't it? 👍 It's great to learn someone else fills/cleans their 580's with a syringe. I am always getting ink everywhere when I fill 😵💫, and this method helps me contain that splatter somewhat better than I can by using the piston (or converter for other pens). I also prefer this method because I can better control how much ink I get in a fill: sometimes I want to top it off, sometimes just a squidge or so to test things out. How do you like your new pen?
@@Neko-KittyLovesFountainPens I like it a lot! The 580ALR has too many ink traps near the nib and I'll definitely have inky fingers if it is dipped in ink. 😏 I usually only fill pistons about 1/4 full. I like to switch pens/inks too often to fill one up and then write it out. (I don't do a lot of writing day to day.) However, these pens have great seals, so the pens do still write without issues even months later, if I put it aside while it still has ink.
@@MarshaLove0723 I'm so glad you like it! Also, I can relate to that about ink traps and piston fills, but sadly it seems like my hands are always inky no matter what. Sometimes I fill to the brim, but like you sometimes not, so I definitely agree with that course of action. I've had Kawecos with their miniature cartridges that I've filled only 1/4 full because I wasn't sure about the ink's performance in the nib or maybe didn't think I'd end up liking the color as much as I had hoped once I saw the ink in person. TWSBIs are so great though, aren't they? Their quality control is top notch, and I really love how smooth the nibs are. I am also one of those people who loves demonstrators and likes to see that ink sloshing around. Have a great day!!!! 😃
@livloves1616 Hi Liv, the little ceramic dinosaur is part of a four-piece set ~ called TEGG 4pcs Cute Animal Ceramic Toothbrush Holder on Amazon. Search for Tegg Mini Toothbrush Holder. This one is the blue dinosaur; there is a green penguin, a white cat, and a white bear in the set. Amazon also seems to sell them in pairs or multiples of four of a single design (two or four dinos, two or four penguins, etc.). I agree, they are so very cute, and I like them even more than the Ink-o-Pets because the ink sample vial sits deeper in them so they are a bit more stable and less prone to accidentally tip, and they are just a tad wider than the Ink-o-Pet opening, so there is a bit more room for the vials in case you get a different circumference ink vial. Thanks, I love the pen: I have a soft-spot for TWSBIs! 😉 Thanks for watching!! Have a great day!!!
@Neko-KittyLovesFountainPens thank you so much for getting back to me!! I'll be looking those up, I like that they sit deeper as I am very prone to spilling. Thanks, you have a great day too!
I sipped a decent Whisky while watching this; nice.
@danielmccann4055 Can't ask for more than that, eh? ☺ How lovely!! And thanks!! Have a great day!!!!
Looks great 👍 I think I’ll buy it in June !

This pen is 🗑️. Try a asvine or a wing sung.

Where did you get your adorable little holder for your ink samples?? Very cute. Also enjoy your new pen!
