- We haven't been here in years, so Ashley and I decided to walk through and see what Gold Coast Mall looks like now.
Built in the 1970's, this small mall has seen many changes over the years. Even today, in 2021, it continues to change. From Don Hastings Donald’s Duck Shopp, to Liljenquist and Beckstead Jewelers and Hat Land's flagship store, many small family businesses have come and gone.
Do you have any memories of a favorite store inside Gold Coat Mall?
Thanks for watching!
So many happy memories there in the 80's.
My family has been going to OC for over 40 years. So much has changed.
Wow I haven't been there in years thanks for sharing
There used to be a glasses place eye ware.
The liquor store used to be A&P supermarket-then Superfresh (before Peebles/Goldman’s). TJ Max displaced stores in the back (to make room for them). Donald’s Duck was there forever and was in Shantytown as well. Liljenquist and Beckstead (out of Annapolis) was where OC Hair and Nail Studio is now. The hair studio was one of the stores moved for TJ Max. Coastal Fitness was originally a Gold’s Gym. OC Street Food used to be OC Kabob which is now at Ocean City Square at 118th Street.
Wow!!!! Thanks a bunch for commenting!!! Quite the memory! I never knew the jewelers were out of Annapolis, it was quite a challenge finding any history of the mall or old tenants. Thanks again!
There was a Radio Shack, Tony's pizza and the Great Cookie way back in the early 80's!
Nice vid! Thanks for the tip on the White Marlin vodka and price check on Tito’s!
Outside is basically unrecognizable.. inside still looks like 1988.
“Mangers Office”
nearby i believe us to be a roses. is it still around?
Yup! Still there.
I remember a place where I used to buy baseball cards, but can’t remember the name. Oh well.
I was JUST talking to my kids about the old baseball card shops! They hardly exist anymore.
I thought there used to be a Super Fresh there.
Can't remember....someone else in the comments mentioned another grocery store.
Yes - Super fresh and A&P prior to that.
I thought the beer store use to be A&P supermarket?
Good memory! It was an A&P!
Was there ever an OC Gallery at Gold Coast Mall? I think my parents bought an OCMD print from there.
Im not too sure. Trying to find anything about past stores was real hard. But a gallery does sound familiar.
@@ReelJayB Thanks for posting. Have an awesome day!
Donald’s Duck Shop had an entire section where framed and unframed prints could be purchased. I don’t recall an OC Gallery at Gold Coast but there did used to be one in The Shoppes at Fenwick.
Yeah there was. It wasn't to far from the arcade I think.
“Manger’s Office” Ha ha ha!!!!!
HAHAHA we laughed at that too!
Is Crocks Bar still up stairs???
No, I didn't even know they had a bar upstairs.
's there was a bar @@ReelJayB There were stairs outside to get to it. Back in the 90's - there was a local bar up there. I had a summer job at the Comfort Inn next door. And my co-workers would go there after work.
Is peebles and candy kitchen still open?
Candy Kitchen is still open, they have a new location in West OC by Hoopers. Peebles has been closed for a few years. It's a liquor store now.
I thought it was an “A & P”, not an “A & W”.
You are absolutely correct! It is A & P.
@@ReelJayB That was a great grocery store!
