You're right, maybe I should do a review on it, I'll see what I can do. But, in the meantime, I will tell you that I LOVE this bike. It has been so fun. There were two big differences that I noticed right away, 1. When pedaling over chunk the platform just feel planted, 2. It feels safer going faster. Especially when you start heading downhill. That's just my opinion, but I am in love with this bike. Hope that helps.
Best I can tell from my experience, Carbon is stronger than an equivalent aluminum frame for the forces it is designed to take. Stresses around the head tube and BB areas and reinforcements around suspension locations. However, they are weaker in other areas for the random things that can occur like this crash, or say falling over in a rock garden. For me, I live in a rocky area and have made the transition back to aluminum and steel for this reason.
That sucks mate. Glad you got it sorted. I have been riding for 20 years and was considering my first carbon frame. But seeing this happen to a quality frame at relatively low speed has put me off. I have always had an alloy frame with dents in them and ridden them with confidence they won't disintegrate. Hope you enjoy the new bike.
I think the benefits of carbon outweigh the off-chance of a crash like this. I mean, I wreck a lot and this is the first time anything more than a scratch has happened on one of my carbon frames. Thanks for watching brother!

Thanks but I'll keep my aluminum Trance . Rides great , climbs great what else do you need?
I'm sorry you had to put your bike down. Condolences, bro.
Love your channel's title! Thank you for the condolences, but it's all worked out and very well at that!
Yeah, I think my next bike may not be Carbon.
I’ve been riding it for years and I love it. It’s such a great feeling ride. My aluminum old Giant Stance cracked on a mild jump once so I wouldn’t discount carbon.
Alu 4 life
Aluminum isn't really repairable either.
Videos like this really make me worry about buying a used carbon bike. No warranty whatsoever:(
Damn, now our bikes are dying on us? This year is off to a bad start.
What happened to yours?!?!?
Mine is fine, but your’s & Theron’s?
Majority of cracked frames on UA-cam is fucking carbon 😂😂😂
I got a carbon frame bike a while ago and so far I’ve had nothing but amazing experiences on it so I hope it stays that way
The old Trance would have taken a chunk out of that scrawny tree and kept on shredding....Think I will take mine for a spin tomorrow! Gave you a thumbs up even though I think you were able to manual better on the Trance.........dick. :-)
Ha! I don't know about the Trance and the tree match up.🤣 I love my Trance Advanced but I do feel like the Yeti is more stout. I'll get those pesky manuals one day.....
Ohhh that’s gotta hurt!
I know, right?! I still flinch when I see the clip of the crash. The sound of it.....
I would have cried! I guess at least it wasn't you that broke!
I felt like crying from time to time! And you are right, better the bike than my spine, right?!
That is not a big crash and it's not even a sharp rock to blame that. A frame should take repeated hits like it.
Money well spent... that frame saved your ass! Congratulations. ;)
Yeti frames throw themselves between you and impacts with trees. It should be listed as a feature... get me the marketing department!!!
**6mph @ 225lbs is right at a ton of force... 8mph is already up to 3700 lbs. ... ***
I should have splurged for the airbags.
@@LunchRide JB Weld?
god damn that's a not even a hard crash, it's minor.
Oh sweet irony!!
Like rain on a wedding day?
@@LunchRide I was thinking more Will Ferrel. ua-cam.com/video/uxJh6slAqXM/v-deo.html
Oh! I get it now!
bummer
Thanks, man... It's all good now though! Thanks for watching.
Fail. Keep moving. Dont stop.
Hmm.. seems like mountain bikes are an item That should be able withstand a little rough and tumble treatment…. Never carbon… ever
This is why I don’t ride carbon mountain bikes. Not designed to take direct impacts.
Well, ideally, we dont crash our bikes haha
Carbon for life.
Psh....yeti
Sorry mate but Carbon frames are weak as shit .
Never get carbon fiber.
👍
🤑🤑
Bike is too weak. Go alloy.
Horrible . Expensive item
