    Would you recommend creating a ''base layer'' of wrapped thread for the guide to 'sit' on, in order to protect the blank from direct contact with the metal guide??

  • @MenCanNotBeWomen
    @MenCanNotBeWomen 8 років тому

    Dont forget to bind the thread on the blank 1st, this protects the blank

    *It’s lightweight. Came with basic lures. Okay quality line comes with it that works for freshwater but not saltwater. That’s an easy fix though.*

    I cant seem to find any info on what size thread to use for wrapping guides. Any thoughts?

    • @MudHoleCustomTackle
      @MudHoleCustomTackle  Рік тому +1

      Size D thread is good for a beginner when wrapping guides, or decorative wraps. Size A is great for wrapping guides, as the thinner profile gives you less ridges, and strength holding the guide to the rod. The downside is wrapping up guide feet gets more difficult, but can be combated with proper guide feet preparation.
      Happy Building!

    the hardest part of the binding is skipped, intentionally, and that's the end of the transition from Rod to Guides
