- 45 years ago, terrorists hijacked a civilian plane with 248 passengers, forced the pilot to land the plane in Entebbe, Uganda, and took 102 Jewish and Israeli passengers captive. This led to one of the IDF's most daring rescue missions: Operation Entebbe.
Watch the story of Operation Entebbe as told by the former Director of the Mossad, Tamir Pardo. Tamir drafted to the IDF in 1971 and served as an officer in Sayeret Matkal, a special forces unit.
During operation Entebbe, he served as the officer of the operation’s commander, Lt. Col. Yonatan Netanyahu z”l. Pardo completed his service in 1978 with the rank of captain, and joined the Mossad one year later.

I am not Jewish, but have been inspired ever since I was a child by Israel, it's vibrant society and it's democracy and the IDF. I remember the wonderful and much needed lift for free people everywhere that the Entebbe Rescue provided after the US debacle in Vietnam. Between Entebbe and the magnificent Bicentennial celebrations here in the US definitely made it my (and probably a good many others as well) favorite Fourth of July.
A real heroes to a nation that almost oppress by all and wanted to be erradicated. Chazak Yisrael.

I remember watching the movie called , Raid On Entebbe. It's one of my favourite movies! Listening to Tamir tell the story of this incredible mission brought tears to my eyes starting when he said it was a 10 hour flight over hostile territory. Then I didn't know till now that this was the operation that killed Bibi's brother. So sad! God was definitely with them on this mission and many others! God will always be with His people! Entebbe has to be the operation that every other counter-terrorist outfit aspires to outdo, but almost none of them will.
Parrot: It is easy to understand what you wrote, but it is clear that our SOC, especially the Seals and Delta Force do many operations that we never hear about. The IDF are outstanding, but we have some in the Special Operations Command that are truly unsung heroes and extraordinary fighters.

I remember when this first happened. I think this was my first year in College... I got a hold of this book "Raid On Entebbe;" and I just couldn't put it down until I finished it. It was such an exciting read - Of Good Vs Evil!

Let us realize Israel as a blessing to all mankind and all life on earth.
First, we must understand the facts about the number and whereabouts of the children of Israel. Because actually half the land of the world is the right of the children of Israel. Which before the 6th century BC our ancestors had diaspora and got the "PROMISED LAND" which stretches from the east coast of Africa, the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, the Australian continent and the Americas and their islands. The world can no longer close its eyes to the facts.
Second, we all must know and understand the historical facts that exist as a guide. We must join hands to open the eyes of the world that some of them actually live on land that is the right of the children of Israel. This is the TRUTH that we must speak out. When they wake up they will be very grateful to the children of Israel. This will change the face of a cruel world into a beautiful and peaceful one.
Third, currently the largest number of Israeli children is in Indonesia. They don't even know who they are. Let us together wake them from their long slumber. When they wake up, they will immediately recognize themselves and return to Intelligent as their ancestors. This will be the basis for the birth of "Nusantara/Indonesia" the Lighthouse of the World which is the main foundation for the realization of Israel as a blessing for mankind.
Fourth, Nusantara/Indonesia as a beacon of the world based on the growing awareness of the children of Israel Nusantara/Indonesia will soon spread to the children of Israel in all corners of the world so that the lost tribes of Israel will soon realize and recognize each other. The encounter of the 12 tribes of Israel is the most beautiful and happiest moment and ends a very tiring journey that is very tearful.
Fifth, let us all strive to create a world that is open, just, civilized, peaceful and prosperous for all human beings so that when the life of the world ends, all human beings and all life are safe in God, no one is left behind. Only with sincere love, justice, prosperity and peace will be created on this earth. This is the basis for all of us to return to God. Because God only accepts us when we return in peace and intact without anything left behind. Then only by feeling as one unit we will all be saved. Feeling one with fellow human beings even with animals, plants and all other life in the world. Because all of us will not be able to survive if we put forward the ego and are not able to feel as one unit.
Sixth, The immeasurable suffering in the long, tearful journey to get the "PROMISED LAND" is "ALWAYS OF THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL TO HUMANITY". Because many of them for generations have eaten, drank and lived on land that is truly the right of the children of Israel so that they will not be able to pay the price. So only the sincere forgiveness of the children of Israel can save them at the end of the life of the world. This is what makes the children of Israel glorious.
