Spellbinders Club Kits - June 2023 - Card Class

- In this card class I am making 5 cards and using 5 club kits from Spellbinders for the month of June 2023. Those kits are; the Large Die of the Month, Glimmer Kit of the Month, 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, Embossing Folder of the Month and the Clear Stamp and Die Set of the Month. All of these kits work so well together and are great on their own. Join me for a fun card making session where I will be making 2 Different style shaker cards, different size cards and playing with some inky techniques.

This video was awesome. I bought the Total Package from Spellbinders this month because I loved all of the different sets and the way they coordinate. I love your cards featuring the large die cut whales. I've always had a "thing" for whales because my maiden name is pronounced - whale-n even though it's not spelled like that. I especially love your Jellyfish card. Yes - please continue to share combo videos like this where you mix and match the products from the monthly release. It helps me envision the possibilities. Great cards Carrie. I liked all the cards together. I think most of us belong to more then one club and it’s great to see them working together.
Loved, loved, loved this video! I have all these sets so I'm champing at the bit to get in my craft room and try out some of these ideas! Very hard to pick a favorite but I'd say it's between the whale in the bottle and the whale with the waves. Such a clever idea to make the bottle into a shaker and the outside decoration really makes the card. Thanks so much for sharing and hope you do this every month!

I’m so glad you decided to put the fussy cut shells back in the folder - I wasn’t loving it until you did that. The only thing I wish spellbinders would do is hop on the stencil wagon and offer stencils for their embossing folders - so we could easily color the raised elements …I do love the shells embossed in that silver - they’re glorious!

So many great cards!! and so many great details and tips! I do like the Distress Oxide ink better than just Distress inks. I can't choose a favorite, love them all!! I always learn things from you! I did like this video. I normally can't watch a longer video in one session-squirrel- but I enjoyed this one so much I did it!

I LOVED it! I enjoy longer videos, and you make excellent videos. It might be 40 minutes but you cover a LOT of ground. I'll watch your videos either way, though. :) It's hard to choose a favorite. One of the shakers probably. But I appreciate watching the others which stretched out of my comfort zone. I left a card (and video) half done while I left town for nine days at the beginning of June. When I came back it was a lot easier to approach it more objectively, and I love how it turned out in the end. Thanks for sharing!

Carrie, the whale in the bottle card was my fave, I like distress inks the most. Also, I couldn’t fink the Dr Martins splatter you used that Mary Palicono recommended, looked in the description box 2x. Thank you for these beautiful makes, it certainly had to have taken a very long time to do this one. Your a doll.

Beautiful cards, for me it has to be oxides. I would love to see more videos like this. If I had to pick, my favourite card would be the second whale shaker. Thank you for sharing. X
On the turquoise shaker I love how you waves inside the shaker abs outside swoon - my only great tip is that I put the whale tale at the end- I added one tail fin under and on top to encase the tail and curved it - gives the body great movement ❤
I definitely like the bundled kits video style. I don't know that i can choose a favorite card. Hmmm. Maybe the die cut whale and bottle? I love the shell background, and copic coloring is my restful place.

This was my first video of yours. I somehow followed you on Instagram recently and saw the bottle card today in my feed. I immediately thought I need to find her on You Tube. I have been paper crafting for 25 years and have to tell you I was immediately mind blown. First of all, Spellbinders knocked it out of the park this month. Secondly, your attention to detail is off the charts! The way you incorporate all of the inky, sparkly things was amazing!! I also love that you put your glue on in the shape of a heart ❤️! I loved every minute of this video and can’t wait to watch more of your videos. Thank you for sharing your talent and time with us! You are inspiring!!
I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how to make a shaker as there isn’t a shadow die but this is absolutely brilliant! Someone commented that a tilted bottle would be cute too. I love the rays of light and the gold embellishments - YES they could be coins YAY! For mine I added rainbow foil under the whale’s top layer and it looks so shimmery. This is one of my favorite large die from spellbinders! Thanks for a fab video …I just need to figure out how to slow it down for an easier pace

To slow the video down click on the gear image on the screen and you have an option to adjust the playback speed. This may look different depending on the screen you are watching on. I love the idea of the rainbow foil! A tilted bottle would also be so much fun with this set. I agree that this is one of the best sets from Spellbinders. Me too, they are definitely my favorite and go to inks!
I saw your video and fell in love with these. 😍 I went downhill and bought a machine and these dies to create one also since they had them however, can you use the glimmer hot foil plate without a glimmer machine as I like the waves in the set and was curious if you could just color the waves where it should be foiled. ? I am not sure if I can afford or use foil a lot to justify the cost.
Also, thank you for your videos, I have been watching so many since seeing the whale in the bottle, they're all so pretty.
Hi thank you for commenting. So glad you like the video and cards. You can use glimmer hot foil plates without the machine. You are exactly right. You can ink up the plate and run it through your die machine the ink will transfer to the paper. You’ll have to play around with it a few times in order to get the thickness right. The plate will also press into the paper and leave and impression. It’s a cool look. Give it a try let me know if you have questions. You can email me at carrie@carriestamps.com. Have fun with it. Second question - I always put my glimmer plates on the platform the entire time it is heating- you didn’t - is this step not necessary?
