To be fair Ian Underwood should also be credited since he played organ, piano, saxophones, flute and woodwinds on the album and was credited on the album cover as main musician along Zappa.
Fusion, before there was a word for it... (N.B.: The Son of Johnny Otis, gifted 16-year-old (at the time) guitarist Shuggie Otis, is playing the absolutely fire-eating bass part here.)
according to my theory, he's been reincarnated as soon as he died. He may wery well be Ariana Grande or Victoria Justice or Paul Pogba.. who knows maybe he decided he likes football more
Mozart was too pretty, too sentimental, too Hallmark. If you're looking at non-recent classical composers to compare Frank with, I'd say Bach. His study of all musicians is absolutely stunning and his appreciation extends to his work with Boulez and Slonimsky, he actually spent the birthday money his mother gave him to call Varese, also his appreciation of what John Cage had to offer and, finally, to maybe one of the few musicians he enjoyed spending time listening to: Anton Webern. I started listening to Zappa in the beginning of my sophomore year of college (1966) and attended 35 concerts. A quarter of a century has passed and I still feel the loss of his much too early death and what he would be creating if he were still with us. Thanks, Frank, for adding so much beauty and joy to my life!

Hello everybody ! As promised, here is finally the Quizik Medley Zappa. ua-cam.com/video/LXUcXWSA8nE/v-deo.html Zappa is in the pantheon of my musical preferences. It is with great pleasure that I produced this blind test. I have thought about you a lot, all Frank fans, and I hope you have fun with this 40th Quizik Medley. Music is the best!
Does anyone happen to know what instrument plays that fast intro part? CD says nothing but FZ: Octave bass, percussion which doesn't make sense because I know there is guitar in this track. I feel its either guitar or bass played at a slower tempo then sped up (like he did the drums for this track and many others) Hopefully someone could give me a source or something, caus I can't pick it out.
Few people know that The Turtles were supposed to be a satirical music group like early MOI. Flo and Eddie left the band to join the Mothers and Zappa. Listen to The Turtles with a satirical mindset and you'll catch it.
This makes me cry. It's one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.
72 years old and I finally get Frank Zappa!
Never too late😂
the one song i simply cannot press stop!
One of those songs I can listen to over and over.

@@adrienbusterna8930A couple of not bad Beatles songs versus even just this one from Zappa. Well this is funny.

My favorite! I think most people don't know Zappa was a lover of classical music.
Oh one quick listen to a variety of his songs and it’s very obvious, he was a lover of all kinds of music, definitely jazz.
You've mis-spelled "favourite". Please try harder.
@@JohnHansell "Favorite" is the proper way to spell it in american english.

Just played this for my son who's still in the womb :) I couldn't think of a more genius piece of work
everybody goes nuts when I put this on at the Senior Center
+Geoff Meisner That was actually funny and original. *overblown dramatic clapping, because I've lost the capacity for sincerity*
The Ban Man
You've lost the CERTAINTY of sincerity, I think you meant.
More like an IRATE pirate, I would say.
your cool geoff....
Geoff Meisner i wanna be at your student center!!!!!!

I CAN’T STOP LISTENING TO THIS DANG TRACK
Действительно HQ
Frank Zappa was the Mozart of Rock n' Roll.
CKru8789 Well said!
Very well said indeed!
I think he would have preferred to be called the Stravinsky of rock and roll :p
SparkyWesthead
Yes! I think you're right. It would've been more appropriate. :)

I fell in love with Frank (originally from Sicily,my place) at the age of 15. Still never tired to listen it .Peaches 'n regalia my favourite one❤
Love it when someone spells "favourite" correctly.
The first time that I heard this song on the radio, I had to call the radio station to ask who it was. I went out and bought the album.
Genius of the music. I miss you. R.I.P. in peace dear Frank.
È bello vedere italiani che apprezzano Frank...
Masterpiece. One of the masterpiece of Frank.
Jesus Christ what a master piece
Damn right :)
No, he's wrong. Masterpiece is one word. ;)
out of it's time!
a marvel
My only complaint would be ... It should be 20 mins long. Occupying it's own album side.
BriLLiant masterpiece.
Maybe the best instrumental under 4 minutes long ever!
Fusion, before there was a word for it...

Fantastic classic Frank Zappa!!! Thanks
There is Beethoven's ninth and then there is Zappa's "HOT RATS". Two musical masterpieces.

Ahh, a rock band.
this was released before Gentle Giant's formation
Love This Song :D

Zappa...
One of the first "assecible" pieces of FZ music because it just has a 4/4 metre ( doowop songs excluded).

Do you think they named the song after the jam?
You can see so much Montana Harmony being thrown in here.
pigsfoot27--Why is the songwriting of this piece credited here to Mark Kozelek, who wasn't even born until 1967?
Here for 1:24-1:34.
