Seen from a Danish perspective: This is what's so amazing about British film. Beautifully made films, not necessarily packed with action, but fine little sketches on every day life situations. There's something so heart warming about these films, and I can't stop smiling.
Oh, how I miss those lovely gentle long days, you watched the days roll away like a light breeze though your mind, dogs walking though their joys of being free, I recall, a tumbler of home made lemonade, jam sandwiches, and I also recall occasionally a slice of cake, sitting in the park, no worries no fears that to day brings to young and old. 🙏👍✅🐶 grandpa Pete.
1983 - 2023 ! 40 years young and still so nice, lovely and actual ! Enjoyed every second of it ! P.S. - I went to Istanbul to look for Turkish Grass. I found instead Turkish Delight ! I bought six boxes. At home I put them in.......pots under a lamp. They don't grow, but got very.....tanned ! 🤣😂😃
Thank you so much for posting this! Even though I have watched it MULTIPLE TIMES, when I'm having a difficult day, I watch it again!! Oh, and of course I pray to God and thank him for all the senses he gave me, and most of all, waking up on the topside of the grass!!!
@@hirschowitz1 Hi Jenny, thank you for asking. I am 70 and in good health, no meds, my savings are secure and I have a car so I can get to the grocery store. Have to say though this whole thing is getting a little spooky not knowing what will happen next. Just have to hang in there and wash my hands LOL How are you doing?
My first time watching this anything with Patricia Routedge in the title always makes me watch it. She's a. Great actress . Serious but so funny as the Mrs B" hyacinth bucket -pronounced bouquet 💐💕🌻👒👜👠👠🎬📺🎥🎭🌈🌟🌹🍀🍁🌱🌺💖🌟
Dado D I agree. In my lockdown here in midtown manhattan (things are really awful here in the city tonight), my ancient building is filled with wonderful dogs so I get to help with the poops and the pees for the older residents...... wish I had a young person with video camera making a film out of this. I took one canine lad out this morning and walked five blocks north on Lexington Ave. In the middle of the street and not a vehicle or person in sight! Don’t know where in the world you are but take great care. Miss Jenny
Hi, Miss Jenny, I'm in a university English teacher from Romania who spent one year and a half in New York state back in the mid-1990s, mainly at SUNY Binghamton. At weekends I used to travel to NYC and roam the streets. I loved NYC! I' m happy to hear from somebody who lives in Manhattan and loves dogs. Take care! DD
I have been trying to find this for years. I have even contacted the Producer, Paul, Weiland. They have said that they are in the midst of digitising their back catalogue, so we can but hope. Brilliant film and excellent cast. I forgot Hugh Laurie was in it.
This is a classic short comedy film on a par with "The Plank" and it's surprising that there is very little information about it anywhere on the Internet. One can only hope that it is released on DVD one day. Thanks for posting it.
The guy throwing the stick for the dog looked like a young Hugh Laurie, could it be? You have to slow the video speed to the lowest setting to see him better. I could be wrong though but it does look like him.
Brenda Irwin It’s Jenny: Yes, I thought I recognized him from early Hugh and Laurie episodes, but I also had to wait for the credits to make sure... with my grey hair I hardly recognize myself from early photographs.
So who was the Very First male Dog that had discovered that if He lifted his leg up he could then empty his blatter onto more area of the Vertical object he is marking with his Scent. Becuse if they squat to pee, (on the Grass or Ground) they are Marking less area with their Scent. And here was me thinking it was so they didn't Piss on themselves!...

@Keegan Moshe yea, been using Instaflixxer for since november myself =)
Charming little film.
How sad that we no longer get wonderful stuff like this anymore we have lost so much in the last few years
Pastor Flaps now all we get is stupid so called reality game shows and shows, and other stuff that is so boring.
More like 25 years.

Well we oldies of 70, are having to have these days back, in our self isolation.
What a beautiful story I really enjoyed it
As an inveterate dog-lover I loved this little gem. Miss Routledge was an extra bonus. Well done to all!
Lovely understated comedy and gentle on the nerves!

The lovely Patricia Routledge ... Love this its funny
Wonderful, marvellous, hilarious!
Brilliant! Just what I needed in ‘self isolation” here in an eerily quiet midtown Manhattan........ thank you so much. Miss Jenny
It was wonderful, wished for another half hour. Same here in Ottawa, eerily quiet.
Brenda, how care you? Jenny
Didn’t put on my glasses..... the question was meant to be ‘how are you’ ....... I’m useless at typing...... love, Jenny

Superb! These dogs are the best actors in the world, and the British the best directors!

Wonderful British humor!,! It’s mine too and I’m American and From Utah no less....
What a nice movie, I love it, so funny!
I absolutly love her..
I remember him in his heyday in the late fifties/early sixties. Great singer and comedian.
Turkish grass? I enjoyed every second of this fabulous film.
Isnt it sad that EVEN THE DOG in this show CAN ACT better than the so called actors in today's rubbish
So agree. It seems that, with few exceptions, most actors seem to have graduated from the Plank School of Acting.
What a gem, I thoroughly enjoyed it - thank you 😊.
Linda Charles Really glad you enjoyed it as much as I did
Wonderful filming. Love the dogs and nod to capability brown
Thanks for posting this. I am an old pal of Daves from the fifties and it is nice to see him still getting some play. RIP Dave.
Dave king I loved him x

I was a teenager in the 70s and during the week you didn’t see people during the day en masse. How I miss those days Self isolation not a problem x

Beautiful day at the park 👌👌

Yes, saw his name in the credits :)

6:55 'Shouldn't you be getting on with the grass Errol' lol
We hate ourselves far too much to allow this to air today.
Thanks for the upload.
A young Hugh Laurie ‘not throwing the ball’.
Hyacinth flower she mentioned in the last 2 minutes :-)
If you are here to see a young Hugh Laurie (House), his bit begins at about 14:30.
Dame Patricia Routedge
Great actress /singer

Delightful!
I have worked in Parks for nearly 40 years. It's very close to how it used to be. Now it's just with less staff.
Which park was this film shot in, help settle a disagreement.
The old man and his dog. So funny!
I'm guessing that's bishops park in Fulham when you could park and enjoy it.
Goodness, Hugh Laurie was the man whose dog got the little boy's boat.
A young Hugh Laurie!
Good old days when you could let your dog shit anywere, great days...
Mrs. Bucket will give you a shovel and bag to pick it up tomorrow.
Great little film and it was good to see 2 Puli dogs
Don't tell people to keep off the grass!!! You're just asking for it.
That made me laugh out loud here in my midtown manhattan lockdown...... thank you, Jenny
Double Entendre: Keep Off the Grass (Lawn)? or Keep Off the Grass (Pot, Weed, Turkish)? Maybe both. :-)
Hyacinth (It’s BOUQUET) Bucket!
Is this the Dave King who had a show on NBC in the summer of 1959?
Yeah the one and same Dave King 😊
Anybody know the tune that starts at 13:01 ?
Such an odd little film.....
So who was the Very First male Dog that had discovered that if He lifted his leg up he could then empty his blatter onto more area of the Vertical object he is marking with his Scent.
