Shepherds, called by angels,
called by love and angels:
No place for them but a stable.
My Lord has come.
Sages, searching for stars,
searching for love in heaven;
No place for them but a stable.
My Lord has come.
His love will hold me,
his love will cherish me,
love will cradle me.
Lead me, lead me to see him,
sages and shepherds and angels;
No place for me but a stable.
My Lord has come.
Text: Will Todd.
Heard this in Chicago the other evening. Music of the Baroque performed it. What a lovely piece of music. So different--peaceful and powerful.
I have been singing carols for 60 years and this year is the first time I have been unable to do so. I came across this hymn for the first time last night sang by the Abbey Choir, Shrewsbury. ( the carol service may be on UA-cam ) and was deeply affected by it . Let's hope we will be able to have carol services again in 2021
Gorgeous piece - I heard on Christmas Eve at a church in Dallas.....and just began to cry at the beauty of the sound, the birth of our Lord, and all of the loss from this 2020 covid year - peace on earth and hope for a better year - My Lord Has Come.
An intensity, warmth, sincerity and accuracy that moves deeply.
Thank you, NU Choirs . . .
A beautiful carol, beautifully sung. Thank you.
Tears in my eyes listening to this. Thanks for posting. Absolutely gorgeous.
Me too - I was bawling my eyes out on Christmas Eve when I heard it. So beautiful.
Stunning music. Wonderful singing and portrayal of the birth of Jesus.
Beautiful
The Master Singers, a local group in Eau Claire WI, sang this at their most recent concert. Tearfully beautiful to see.
This is beautiful. The #Norich cathedral choir sang this at the Carol service this year... a perfect way to begin this a Christmas.
Did an Evensong program with Will Todd at Grace Church, Richfield, CT in the Fall of 2014. Wonderful man to work with, and his music (and our choir) blew the roof off in praise of God!
What a beautiful and tender rendition of this piece. Our choir has done this too and I find it hard not to get emotional when singing it- well done to all for the most stunning and heartfelt performance.
Exquisite. I have no other words.

Beautiful music....
What a fantastic choral piece. I've just as much enjoyment listening to this as singing it 😍
What a beautiful blended sound
Amazing! One of my favorite choral pieces.
Absolutely beautiful.
Heard the Halle' youth choir sing it at the weekend, gorgeous
This performance alone is reason to attend this school. Thank you for your delicate conducting and sensitive singing.
AAHHHHHHH! So Beautiful!
Just heard this in church and it was so chilling I had to just stop there and listen in awe
Thank you for the beautiful singing! Will Todd will be in the US this fall (October 2014). See his website for details of where and when. We are looking forward to singing with him.
