Tailgate release
System for mechanical unlocking of the boot in the event of a battery or central locking malfunction.
This is a common problem with Peugeot 307, Citroen C4 and other medels.

Worked! I was rear ended and the boot pushed in. Over time water ingress has corroded the contacts. Shorting them didn't work. This has saved me buying a new boot! Many thanks!

Am fost sa cumpar niste teava cu masina lu taicamiu, un peugeot 307. 20 de min m-am chinuit sa deschid portbagajul :) Merci pentru video...:))

Fun fact. I removed the whole cover by releasing the screws and and put a jumper whire in the handle plug. The battery wasnt dead. The microswich inside the handle had gone bad.
Instead of buying a 50$ salvaged handle, I t cost me around 10$ for 2pcs of identical microswiches, 5m of 2 wire cable and on push button.
I replaced the microswich in the handle and secure one for future replacement and used the push button and cable to put a trunk opener button near the drivers side.

@@AdrianDragan thank you. I remember using aproximatly 4,5m of cable on the 3 door peugeot307. Even if you dont end up using the button, its basicly a backup if the handle fails.
Personaly I had no ideea that you could open the trunk using a screw driver. Thank you for that.

On Citroen C4 Coupe's there is a design fault with the wiring and after a few years can break at the connection and cause the boot not to open. I've had this twice now. Still love my car though.

You should probably change the switch that opens the luggage compartment door, it may be locked in the open position.
In the coming weeks I will make a video on how to replace the switch.
Do you have to do this every time you want to open the boot? I just bought a Citroen C2 and I can't get the boot open.
Hello. if you can't open the trunk every time, the microswitch in the opening flap is probably defective. Try to use a multifunctional spray (WD40) in that flap, if it doesn't work like that, the microswitch will have to be replaced.

One of my rear doors wont open from outside or inside. Any tip?
It is complicated to open it in this situation, however make sure that you have not activated the child safely function. If you can not open it I recommend going to a car service.

so my button works makes a noise tries to move the lock mechanism but the boot is jammed shut i tried a screwdriver in the manual open and nothing feels glued shut.
Hi. Hello. You have to remove the trunk door closing mechanism and the opening contact, they must be cleaned, greased or changed.

Nu are tot ca la portbagaj de unde se poate debloca .......??
Cum pot debloca ușa stângă spate sa blocat si nu pot să o deschid ,e problema închiderea centralizată fiindcă se aude un dublu click când încerc să deschid ușa dar mecanismul nu acționeze deloc si nu pot să ajung la el fiind blocată ușa, fața de ușa am reusit sa o dau jos dar nu stiu cum sa rezolv problema.......Multumesc !

Problema este delicata, ar fi recomandat ca daca nu reusesti sa rezolvi sa mergi la un atelier auto. Probabil este stricat mecanismul zavorului (broasca).
What in the world. So there is no key or latch to get into the boot without power. I have never had a car that you have to be fricken Houdini to open a boot. LOL

Salutare. Momentan nu am clip despre cum se demonteaza / inlocuieste acel switch. Sper sa revin cu acel clip cand se va mai incalzi vremea, trebuiesc demontate capacele de plastic de pe haion si fiind frig exista un risc mare ca acestea sa se rupa.

Tocmai. Am avut nevoie. Si m am chinuit. Eu am tras de plasticul ala mare de la haion si am bagat o sarma, sa il pun in scurt pentru a l deschide. Daca il vedeam atunci eram boier :))

@@AdrianDragan Can't find it on my 2007 407 SW. Can't find the screwdriver hole because of a few inner panels and i'm traveling without any tools. Kinda screwed. Why would the 'emergency opening' system require a small screwdriver?
