I bought an N reg one back in 1978 from a farmer for around £ 50.00. Ran great when I went to see it. Got it home and couldn't get it started, as I was mechanically inept back then, it took me ages to realise he had drained the petrol out. Had to wait until I turned 16 before I could ride it on the road, I was out on it for hours on end at a time, absolute freedom, I loved it. Not without issues but usually down to an enthusiastic teenagers abuse. Great to see you all out, small bikes, big fun.
Superb the clip was fantastic. I had a lime green fuel tank ,5 speed ss 50 in 1980 . I’m 61 years old now and your clip brought back great memories. Regards Dave from Scotland
That took me back to 1977 . My first bike a lime green Honda SS50 5 Speed .I called it my Honda Apple lol.I had started to live. Honda got it right with this one . Looked like a bigger bike and with a little bit of magic could be very quick for an SS50 . Great stream . Thanks
Nice to meet you. I'm Japanese. The first bike I rode was a Honda Express. In Japan it was called "ROADPAL". I'm glad to see it's still going strong in the UK.
Seeing you and your mates all out riding together brought back many happy memories of me and my mates in the late 1970s on our mopeds i had a yamaha fizzy one mate had the dx model with disc brake in bright yellow, one had a suzuki ap50 and the had a yellow puch 50 with twistgrip gears and the slowest of us all they were all much better than all the plastic crap you get nowadays looking forward to seeing more of your videos, roy, quenington gloucestershire.
Hello Roy, thanks for your comment ! It was good fun and next month the SS on my Honda will stand for "Sixty Six" instead of Sixteener Special" When I was sixteen I had a Raleigh Runabout for a few months and then a Puch VZ50 like the one that you describe. Great memories indeed :-)
Bought mine from Par Scooters 10 years ago. It was a wreck and had been hiding away in some shed in Italy for years. Restored it and now enjoy riding it when I get time. Back in the 70s I had a GP200, wish I still had that !
Are your bulbs incandescent or LED by chance? You need an unit for LED's if they are, as incandescent unit won't work. I've seen many vlogs on this issue.
Not really sure what you mean? Not being a high reving 2 stroke engine the Honda doesn't have big cooling fins but it does have them. Hope this helps 👍
