Paw paw Ben watching your videos for a long time I just love you and your family. You’re the first one I watch every morning. I’m praying for Heidi and you. I had a chihuahua I got him when he was a puppy and was lucky enough to have him for 18 years. His teeth went bad and I had to get 11 of his teeth removed and I guess it was to much for him, he went down fast and I had to have him put down, it was so hard so I know what you’re going through. I didn’t want any more dogs because it hurts to bad to lose one but my husband went and bought me another one this one is a female and she looks a lot like Tippy. Same thing she was a puppy also and she is now 5 years old but I think we just have to give them the best life we can and when it’s time to let go know that we gave them the care and love they needed. My sister was diagnosed with an enlarged heart because of a virus about 25 years ago. She is on two medicines that she will take for the rest of her life. She lives and works hard and exercises by doing a lot of heavy manual work. God gives my sister very good health otherwise. God is in control and can prolong life beyond the doctor's expectations. I have a Chihuahua who has been in congestive heart failure for going on five years. She takes a diuretic, benezopril and vetmedin every day. I will be praying for Heidi to be comfortable. And for you to be comforted by the Savior.
My Chihuahua has been on that 1 year. As soon as she was put on the diarrhetic she peed while sleeping.(Furosemide) Vetmedin, Sildenafil. Her regimen of medication

I think most of us here, who love animals, has had their share of fur darlings we have lost. I'm a cat person and I have several cats I've lost who I still miss. They were more than dear to me, I love them still, and I still get visits from them some nights, when they lay down on my legs, and I greet them with a smile and warm love. They're gone many years but still visits. I was a wreck when it happened, I isolated myself and drank whisky, cried my heart and eyes out, was sore for some time, but the fine dust of years makes you remember more of the good times and deep love than the pain of losing them. And you can appreciate their visits from the other side much better. You get grateful for the time you had with them rather than sad over how short that time was. That's my experience anyway. I'm so sorry about Heidi, but she is with the one she loves best in the whole world, and though her passing may hurt like hell you know you did all you could for her and that she passes at home, surrounded by love. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

We had a miniature pinscher that had the same thing with enlarged heart ❤️ 💙 he was only 3 when my Dad passed and he was Dads buddy like Heidi is to you. So we took him home and raised him up to 12 hrs old before the heart stuff started. I also believe in the power of prayer 🙏 ✨️ and I definitely will keep you and Heidi in my daily prayers like I've had you since lossing sweet Johnny. It's so hard to loose our fur babies they are no doubt just like our own kids. Truly sending you a warm hug my friend. So very sorry about this bad news regarding Heidi. As Doberman owners for over 40 years we've been through it several times. DCM and/or CHF. This is the only bad thing about being owned by a Doberman. No matter how long we have with them it's never long enough. Blessings to you and to Heidi.

Hi Pawpaw. Exactly the same thing that happened with my Willard! 8 year old mini poodle. They gave him a heart med, along with a fluid pill twice a week. That was over a year ago. After the first week of treatment, you could tell he felt better than before he started the meds. Over the past year, his heart med has increased to twice a day and most recently, his fluid pill has increased to 3 times a week. When do you increase the meds? You’ll know. He was back to that little dry, hacky cough. Generally not feeling well. And began getting a little short of breath. He always did well after each med change. We’ve been holding for a while now. Doing well. Most the time I even forget he’s sick. Best of all, he forgets too. So hang in there, Pawpaw. One day at a time. Love you, sir. ♥️

Pawpaw my heart hurts so much for you & Heidi. It is so hard to see our babies have things wrong. I understand the strong bond that you & Heidi have together. Make the most of the quality time you have together. In the past 4 years I had to have both my furbaby doggies put to sleep. Princess was our family dog-looked like a Golden Retriever but was actually a rescue dog we adopted as a puppy. She lived 15 yrs but her hips failed her eventually. I had a Dog hospice come to our house & put her to sleep in her own bed. We made her last day extra special w/ a final walk w/ her daddy around the neighborhood (very slow), she got a whole pound of bacon. My daughters friends all came to say buy. She got icecream every day the final week. And after her bacon she got a chocolate candy bar (choc is poison to dogs so she never got that in her life). She was so tired by the time the Dr came she was ready for a nap. They gave her a relaxation med first (she had bacon crumbs on her mouth lol). She was literally snoring & so happy! We all surrounded her & loved on her as the Dr injected the final med. Princess went to sleep in our arms. It was the best it could be. Our other little stray rescue named Coda we got when she was 6. She was 12 when her back legs became paralyzed. I had xrays done & they thought she probably had a little tumor in her nerves but would cost $ thousands for MRI & the outcome would be the same. She went down completely & I had to make the call. We did the same with her as we did Princess. She was scared a little when her legs failed her & she wasn't able to urinate on her own so she wasn't as comfortable as Princess but she still passed in her home & w/ special snacks & love surrounded by her family. I wouldn't trade that for the world. It is very costly but was worth every penny. Now I have 2 kitties that are aging. One is 13 & seems to be overall healthy for her age. The younger kitty is only 9 but has had major issues-hyperthyroidism-had to have a costly rad treatment, then about 2 mths later she got deathly sick w/ pancreatitis that required a week of IV fluids, meds & TLC, she turned around but is now diabetic on insulin. I see her slipping a little everyday. I have that dread to my heart knowing it might not be the best outcome. I say all this to let you know you are not alone. You will do the best you can for Heidi. Best thing is to try to get the fluid overload off her heart. I am a Registered Nurse & that is what they do for people. Reduce fluid load, decrease her salt intake (salt will make her hold more fluid) & exercise when she feels up to it. That is the best you can do. The cost of LOVE is the grief we experience when we lose them but it is so worth the pain. (((HUGS))) Pawpaw. We love you & Heidi. ❤

Gene, I understand what you are facing with Heidi. I treated my boy Quincy for 2 years on 3 different meds. A water pill in the morning and 2 different ❤️ medicines twice a day. When his bad days became more frequent than his good days I knew it was time to love him go. So just 4 days after I had to put my potbelly pig Hamlet to sleep (he had gone lame and in spite of treatment he continued to get worse) I had to make the decision about Quincy. This February I held his paw while he crossed the 🌈 bridge. I asked my vet if I could please get a paw print and nose print before I left the office. I'm so glad I did as they brought me great comfort and they are framed by my Hammy's snout print. Hugs and prayers for you my friend. ❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️

Years ago my 14 year old Shetland Sheep Dog Duffy had that cough. Diagnosed with enlarged heart. He was prescribed Cardoxion sp? He lived to the age of 16. Prayers for Heidi and PawPaw.

I have a Chihuahua who has been in congestive heart failure for going on five years. She takes a diuretic, benezopril and vetmedin every day. I will be praying for Heidi to be comfortable. And for you to be comforted by the Savior.

My Chihuahua has been on that 1 year. As soon as she was put on the diarrhetic she peed while sleeping.(Furosemide) Vetmedin, Sildenafil. Her regimen of medication
Her diuretic is Salix.

I think most of us here, who love animals, has had their share of fur darlings we have lost. I'm a cat person and I have several cats I've lost who I still miss. They were more than dear to me, I love them still, and I still get visits from them some nights, when they lay down on my legs, and I greet them with a smile and warm love. They're gone many years but still visits. I was a wreck when it happened, I isolated myself and drank whisky, cried my heart and eyes out, was sore for some time, but the fine dust of years makes you remember more of the good times and deep love than the pain of losing them. And you can appreciate their visits from the other side much better. You get grateful for the time you had with them rather than sad over how short that time was. That's my experience anyway. I'm so sorry about Heidi, but she is with the one she loves best in the whole world, and though her passing may hurt like hell you know you did all you could for her and that she passes at home, surrounded by love. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

We had a miniature pinscher that had the same thing with enlarged heart ❤️ 💙 he was only 3 when my Dad passed and he was Dads buddy like Heidi is to you. So we took him home and raised him up to 12 hrs old before the heart stuff started. I also believe in the power of prayer 🙏 ✨️ and I definitely will keep you and Heidi in my daily prayers like I've had you since lossing sweet Johnny. It's so hard to loose our fur babies they are no doubt just like our own kids. Truly sending you a warm hug my friend. So very sorry about this bad news regarding Heidi. As Doberman owners for over 40 years we've been through it several times. DCM and/or CHF. This is the only bad thing about being owned by a Doberman. No matter how long we have with them it's never long enough. Blessings to you and to Heidi.

Exactly the same thing that happened with my Willard! 8 year old mini poodle.
They gave him a heart med, along with a fluid pill twice a week.
That was over a year ago. After the first week of treatment, you could tell he felt better than before he started the meds. Over the past year, his heart med has increased to twice a day and most recently, his fluid pill has increased to 3 times a week.
When do you increase the meds? You’ll know. He was back to that little dry, hacky cough. Generally not feeling well. And began getting a little short of breath. He always did well after each med change.
We’ve been holding for a while now. Doing well. Most the time I even forget he’s sick. Best of all, he forgets too.
So hang in there, Pawpaw. One day at a time.

Pawpaw my heart hurts so much for you & Heidi. It is so hard to see our babies have things wrong. I understand the strong bond that you & Heidi have together. Make the most of the quality time you have together. In the past 4 years I had to have both my furbaby doggies put to sleep. Princess was our family dog-looked like a Golden Retriever but was actually a rescue dog we adopted as a puppy. She lived 15 yrs but her hips failed her eventually. I had a Dog hospice come to our house & put her to sleep in her own bed. We made her last day extra special w/ a final walk w/ her daddy around the neighborhood (very slow), she got a whole pound of bacon. My daughters friends all came to say buy. She got icecream every day the final week. And after her bacon she got a chocolate candy bar (choc is poison to dogs so she never got that in her life). She was so tired by the time the Dr came she was ready for a nap. They gave her a relaxation med first (she had bacon crumbs on her mouth lol). She was literally snoring & so happy! We all surrounded her & loved on her as the Dr injected the final med. Princess went to sleep in our arms. It was the best it could be. Our other little stray rescue named Coda we got when she was 6. She was 12 when her back legs became paralyzed. I had xrays done & they thought she probably had a little tumor in her nerves but would cost $ thousands for MRI & the outcome would be the same. She went down completely & I had to make the call. We did the same with her as we did Princess. She was scared a little when her legs failed her & she wasn't able to urinate on her own so she wasn't as comfortable as Princess but she still passed in her home & w/ special snacks & love surrounded by her family. I wouldn't trade that for the world. It is very costly but was worth every penny. Now I have 2 kitties that are aging. One is 13 & seems to be overall healthy for her age. The younger kitty is only 9 but has had major issues-hyperthyroidism-had to have a costly rad treatment, then about 2 mths later she got deathly sick w/ pancreatitis that required a week of IV fluids, meds & TLC, she turned around but is now diabetic on insulin. I see her slipping a little everyday. I have that dread to my heart knowing it might not be the best outcome. I say all this to let you know you are not alone. You will do the best you can for Heidi. Best thing is to try to get the fluid overload off her heart. I am a Registered Nurse & that is what they do for people. Reduce fluid load, decrease her salt intake (salt will make her hold more fluid) & exercise when she feels up to it. That is the best you can do. The cost of LOVE is the grief we experience when we lose them but it is so worth the pain. (((HUGS))) Pawpaw. We love you & Heidi. ❤

My brother has had 2 Dobermans in the past 20 years, and he's lost both suddenly due to a seizure & cancer. All I can think of is: the flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long. As with all large dogs 😢

Gene, I understand what you are facing with Heidi. I treated my boy Quincy for 2 years on 3 different meds. A water pill in the morning and 2 different ❤️ medicines twice a day. When his bad days became more frequent than his good days I knew it was time to love him go. So just 4 days after I had to put my potbelly pig Hamlet to sleep (he had gone lame and in spite of treatment he continued to get worse) I had to make the decision about Quincy. This February I held his paw while he crossed the 🌈 bridge. I asked my vet if I could please get a paw print and nose print before I left the office.
I'm so glad I did as they brought me great comfort and they are framed by my Hammy's snout print. Hugs and prayers for you my friend. ❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️

Dear Mr.Morrow, There is always that one animal in our lives that has control of our heart. They give unconditional love no matter what mood we are in. They have bonded with us more than any human, even our spouse because they hear our most secret thoughts. I've owned several dogs, but was given 8 wonderful years with my soul mate before I had to see him go to sleep. It's been over 10 years & I still miss him & get emotional.
