One day you’ll look back and laugh at all this... (so many great stories to share with your kids) and say let’s build another one! Trent: “No freaking way!” 😂 😝
Great video. I have been a contractor for 40 years and you have done a great job. One piece of advice about inspections. A clean open work space, no clutter gives the inspector a easier time and gives the impression of a careful thoughtful builder. Flood is optional
"The stress is high" is the greatest understatement I've ever heard. I could not imagine having the inspector in at all after the water disaster. Trent "I have no idea what I'm doing" to the inspector!!! No don't admit to that because it is simply not true. You might not be a professional but really you know far more than you give yourself credit for. Congrats on the pass.
Janine They have , you have to watch every thing you say . I can understand that in the comments because you can't see expressions and body language but on film really. I think you are right they have lost the ability .
All I’m saying is that he does know what he’s doing and he should acknowledge that. His statement wasn’t meant as a joke. It was a statement of his nervousness in his nervousness. I’m just saying you don’t tell the cop you only had 5 beers when he pulls you over for a broken tail light.
OMG Trent! As a musician I have dealt with wet electronics. Yes, it needs to dry out. I know you wanna check it right away, but let it sit for 24 hours first, even if it seems dry. Take a break, walk away and do something else. Clear the deck outside. Remove snow around Terry. Just let the panel rest and try it tomorrow. If you have one, set up a dehumidifier by the panel.
I had a phone to which i dropped it a bucket full of water. immediately threw it in a bag a of rice and wait for a day and it would kinda turn on but then it flickered and flat out died. After getting a new phone and forgetting about it for a few months, my dad decided to turn it on and it worked....I guess i didn't wait long enough or something?
Seriously... this is real life! I can’t wait until you guys are sitting in your complete home with dinner in the oven... and looking back at this moment knowing you GOT THROUGH IT! So proud of y’all.
As stressful as this episode was for you, it truly was for all of us too...like a family. I also enjoyed reading the other comments and I agree that you might want to leave trying the electrical again until tomorrow
A Hollywood writer couldn’t have written a better script to keep everyone on the edge of their seats. Spectacular episode. I laughed and nearly cried but in the end, I had a smile from ear to ear. Congratulations, well deserved. You all Rock!
I too usually wash the floors before I have company. 🤣🥰. Nothing like falling through the stage before your opening act. Look at the bright side when you start at the bottom you can only go up. Great first impression for an inspector as he walks through the door. Bet you made his day! Just be happy Buster Keaton nothings else crazy happened to make the inspector turn around as he was walking out. 🤣🥰. Congratulations! And Thank-you for letting us be part of your journey. Life is a trip, you are both far from being alone! 👍♥️
Was anyone else as nervous as Allie and Trent. 😳 then went into shock from the water explosion 😥 but heart was overjoyed when they passed. You guys are so awesome that we feel you pain. So glad that inspection is over so I can breathe 🧘♂️
My wife and I were so nervous when the Inspector showed up, and we both figured out why. We feel as though we know you both so well. We were rooting for you as we would our closest friends. You are such a special couple.
As an electrician in the Navy. Sometimes when electrical gets wet you can dry it the best you can and it still isn't good... but you give it a day or two and the residual moisture dissipates and it is all good again.
Exactly. Open the doors, crank up the woodstove, and let it all air out for a day. Walk away....until a few hours pass. How many times has that been the solution for a construction problem? Sometimes it's just bad juju.
Yep exactly. But I can not believe he even attempted to energize the panel just few hours after knowing everything was flooded. Should let the panel and all electrical system air out for a day if not couple days at least.
My mom and I love watching you guys every Monday and Friday! You guys are amazing people and you do amazing things! I am excited for when you get the house finished! Good luck with lika and frank! You deserve 1 million subscribers!
I can't believe how invested and emotionally invested in you two building this house. I cannot even begin to explain the emotional rollercoaster I went on with this video lol. I could only imagine how you guys were feeling!
Congratulations!! I was on the edge of my seat!! My Dad was an incredible contractor an built homes for a living! This has really made me appreciate him! This is hard stuff!!
I feel y'all's pain. Our pipes burst during the Texas winter storm and our house flooded. We have been living in a hotel and now an apartment for 9 weeks. 🤦🏼♀️
Been waiting for this episode for such a long time, so glad you passed!!! I held my breath along with you and was so devastated to see the water pouring out. Keep smiling !! Loving being on the journey with you

Oh you guys - that was heartbreaking, seeing such a flood of water. On a positive note - isn't it wonderful to go to work every day with your best friend and your good buddy?! Have a great weekend!
I didn’t realized how invested I am with this build. When the water started leaking everywhere I had to pause the vlog. 😩 My heart can’t take it. I can’t even imagine what you guys are going through.
If anyone can make it thru all of this stress and commotion it's you two! Don't give up! I just wish you could take a little more time for yourselves, just to relax. Take care of both of you! Trent, you're a strong and capable person. Allie, you're a conscientious and energetic force! Together, you are fabulous! So "Git'er Done!"
All that water..As the waterfall was beautifully filmed I just sat here stunned and in shock.. but then you just hunkered-down and got to work to fix it and then pass the four-way!!! ***EPIC*** The build will always be BF and AF to me now. I hope you took a break and went out to dinner to celebrate passing with only 4 little things to pin up. Next day, lots to dry out... except for the stuff on the window sill. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Smooth sailing time, (just a lot of hard work to go).🎉
@@julianursten6399 you can do a little calculating in your head to get a rough estimate on how much C it is. Just take the F number, subtract 30 and divide it by 2. If you have 100f, minus 30 would be 70 and divide it by 2. Now you know 100 F is pretty warm, around 35°C. This isn't super accurate but I got tired of converting it always so I just do this and it's so easy that you can do it in your head. Going into the negative numbers it still works. With 23F - 30 = - 7. Divide by 2 and you got somewhat - 3°C. So kinda cold but not too much below freezing.
I think I would have been on the front deck waiting for the inspector...”Uh, we’re gonna have to reschedule?” LOL Way to push through it! Congrats on a pretty damn successful inspection!
Some days you're the windshield, some days you're the bug... Whew!! Hope you guys were able to sleep without tossing and turning after the electrical snafu and floods! Wow, I'm so happy you passed inspection!!! Let me hear a collective WOOHOOOOO!! Ali, you're doing a super job with the video editing! Love the music you choose!
Hi, Trent and Allie! Greetings from a faithful American follower living in Athens Greece. You guys faced unforseen disasters on inspection day! My heart went out to you! You are so brave! Congrats on passing your inspection!!!!Soon, your house house will be finished. You all will be chilling and relaxing on your awesome deck. Keep on keepin' on!!
My heart stopped the first time I saw the water pouring out of the floor! I am so sorry that happened on an already incredibly stressful day! But I am so happy that you passed the 4 way inspection!!!!!!! Way to go you guys!!! A huge hurdle was jumped today and that is something to be super proud of! Crossing all my fingers and toes that you can figure out the breaker very soon!
The way you guys keep it together during adversity is so inspiring to me! 🙌🏻 CONGRATULATIONS on passing your inspection!! AND all the water washed the sawdust off of everything 🙌🏻🌈🙌🏻
We absolutely love watching your story. You keep it clean so we can enjoy watching you on you tube. We can’t wait to get home and fix dinner and hope you have a new episode to watch. We are also a dog family and just love the dogs. We are Christians and there isn’t much we can watch that is acceptable so thank you once again for adding joy to our lives every evening when we get home from a hard days work. Keep up the good work and we will keep up the prayers for you. David and lisa flanagan. 💕
I'd hate to hear what he tells a cop if he gets pulled over for speeding! "I was hardly going 20 miles over the limit & I wasn't drinking that much! Look there's still 3 beers in the 12 pack I picked up just an hour ago!
As your HVAC professional, I’m going to go ahead and say that probably voids my warranty. 😂 But you know I’m always going to be here to help. Also, hey! I think I deserve more confidence than that. 😘
Here is the policy and the reasoning behind it from the manufacturers' point of view: FLOODING AND SAFETY FLOOD DAMAGED HVAC EQUIPMENT Following unprecedented flooding in the mid-west, Rheem® is extremely conscious of the need to maintain a focus on the safety of homeowners, building owners, inhabitants and servicing contractors returning to or requesting repairs of damaged property. The careful inspection of HVAC equipment in the areas effected is key to proper function and safety moving forward. Flooding or partial submersion of HVAC equipment can damage safety features within the unit and the controls. Consumers, whose units may have been subjected to flooding, are advised to immediately contact a trained, professional service contractor to assess all heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment before resuming operation. Rheem recommends that any HVAC equipment subjected to flooding be replaced and scrapped to avoid any risk of injury or harm. In the short term, the equipment may run, but over time, wiring harnesses and other components may have long-term issues and degradation of safety functions, reliability, and performance. Immersion or partial immersion by floodwaters of the equipment can compromise its key operational components, in which case the warranty will be voided. Flood damaged equipment should be handled as a homeowner's or building owner's insurance claim, and the equipment should be replaced. This equipment should not be repaired as a warranty claim or serviced on a standard call
Congratulations on another milestone in your build. Thousands have come before you with more to follow, but it is entertaining to watch. 😂 I know you get dizzy rolling with the punches, but good on you for rebalancing and soldering on. Always safety first. Blessings!
Congratulations!! I actually cried when I saw that water coming out and then when it happened again I had to pause the video a bit. You guys have nerves of steel is all I can say! So glad it passed and sending well wishes that the panel gets straightened out!!
Oh no 🤦♀️ I could totally sympathise with you, as I had a flood in my house the other night. A pipe had broken and we had boiling hot water going everywhere. My husband turning off the wrong thing didn’t help!! Thankfully our neighbour is a plumber and helped fix it for us. I’m just hoping we don’t have any lasting damage. Good luck for the next phase.xx 🍀
You guys are such a positive influence even when things don’t go great. Really look forward to your videos. Leka is getting so big so fast. Love the pups.
All I can say is you were at your best when things were at their worst. When shit hit the fan you panicked (as we all would) but, you collectively got the situation under control. You passed my inspection. Great job.
Well done guys. What a rollercoaster of a day so many extremes. I couldn't believe it when water started cascading down into the basement but to have it happen twice. I actually shouted out loud "Oh No", nearly waking my hubby. So glad the 4 way went well but what a way to finish the day with the 'flippin trippin'. Hope you get the electriics sorted soon.💜💚👍🧡💛
Great job guys! Im a heating contractor myself and I like how your system is set up. I always make sure that the customer registers their furnace and condenser warranties with the factory. Most manufacturers offer a free 10 year parts warranty on their furnaces, condensers usually have Five. Also, you may want to check your energy companies for cash rebates. In Utah you can get as much as $350 back in the form of a check. Even your water heater, windows, appliances and insulation may be eligible. Good times ahead!
Holy cow...this totally stressed me out for you! When the water was pouring out I started crying..you guys are amazing..We are all pulling for you and know you will figure it all out! We are all here cheering you on! Sending love, strength, and hugs!🥰 ( and maybe an electrician?) Love you guys! Go get em!👍👍
WOW what a day, i would not have survived it. You two are such a supportive and easy going couple that is a great combination, you are absolutely 💯 a joy to warch. My heart goes out to you
Just another day in the life of T & A. Look at this way, the flooding right before the inspector arrives brought excitement to your content. Congratulations on all the good news!
Wow!! Congrats on the inspection! You guys are amazing. The flood was terrifying, but now that it's over, it's just another chapter in the incredible story.
Oh Trent & Allie! This was SO PAINFUL to watch! You've PROVEN Murphy's Law in an EPIC way! NO! You don't get to burn the house down! Don't tempt Murphy! Congrats with the inspection.
Oh my goodness! This was one of the first videos that popped up, I started to watch and immediately stopped, got caught up since the beginning of the build! Finally got to see where all the water was coming from. So much progress! So stoked and happy for y’all.
Congratulations on the inspection! You’ll figure out, if you haven’t already the electrical situation. I just love Lika’s ears! She’s growing so fast! ❤️
OMG, I shouted out NO!!! so loud when I saw all that water, I was literally in tears watching your faces, for all the excitement and hard work just getting to the inspection day. I really can't put into words how bad I felt for you. After all that you only had a few adjustments to make and you passed. That is just so fantastic, well done you guys, all three of you deserve a medal. Trent I don't know how you didn't break down at times, maybe you did but you hid it very well. Onwards & upwards and on to the next phase and really looking forward to going along with you. Hugs to Frank & Lika too. Stay Safe UK
NO DOUBT in my mind about passing the 4 way, YOU are so much better than you think. Besides you had MY PRAYERS and the LORD was watching, so NO DOUBT in my mind you would PASS with flying colors. CONGRATULATIONS! Your Loyal Fan Biz
Congratulations on passing your 4-way!! Murphy’s law was absolutely in effect that day. Hope you’ve figured out your electrical issue and have moved on to insulation. You’ve done a ton of hard work and it paid off!
Congratulations on passing your inspection. So sorry about the big cleanup you are now subject to. I am impressed with your positive outlook. Keep going forward and I have no doubt you will inherit the rainbow.
The lengths you guys will go to to create exciting content! LOL Seriously, though what a great outcome for your inspection. Kevin is a great teacher because he has an awesome student! Well done.
Just want to say we bought Simpli-Safe a few months ago, and love it. It was SO easy to install, easy to turn the system on and off, and really affordable compared to other systems. Worth every Penny for the peace of mind.
Wow! what a rollercoaster of emotions. You handled that amazingly, I would have been rocking in the corner, crying and adding to the water on the floor lol. I'm so pleased that you only had a few little bits to fix from the inspection and with absolutely no experience other than a flood in my home once, we were advised to let everything dry for 24hrs at least. I really hope that's the case for you. Good or bad, you're making memories xxx
That was tough to watch I can only imagine what it was like to live it! The music went great with the scene, glad you were recording!! So suspenseful!!!
Never thought of it; but you saying that....could totally see them doing a remodel home/garden show (eatting), travel show...helping communities here and there. global meet-and-greets.
I've been building for 50 years and inspections always make me nervous. You folks did a great job for your first time out. Enjoy watching your adventures.
Wrong. They have a major water damage problem on their hands they need to eradicate immediately to save their home, belongings, the health of them, their dogs and future family.
@@youfinallyfoundwaldo1364 they installed all kinds of moisture barriers. As long as they dry it all out it will be okay.and insurance will cover furnace or anything newly installed. And if this had to happen now is better than when they carpets and all their belongs in the house. But that's not the case.
@@joaniebowers5231 Moisture barriers don’t matter when the building materials are soaking wet and not dried up as much as possible immediately. Mold starts growing in 24-48 hrs and there’s absolutely no way to dry it all completely before then. Insurance isn’t going to replace all subfloor, studs, everything that got wet and is wicking into the building materials further and further. That’s just not how any of that works and let’s face it...it won’t get done. It didn’t need to happen. So now mold is growing and will continue to and this is their long time home which could make them sick. It is what it is.
Congratulations on passing a milestone - so many new opportunities for learning and growth - next inspection will be so much better now that you have gone through it and know what to expect.

What a handy fellow! Good work and thanks for that insight!
I don’t know if the duct is internally insulated but if it is, it’s toast. Once wet insulation is ruined. Not talking about mold.
I can’t even believe how calm and positive you were during this situation. You guys are AMAZING!!!! I’m in awe of you guys. 😀
Congratulations on another milestone in your build. Thousands have come before you with more to follow, but it is entertaining to watch. 😂
I know you get dizzy rolling with the punches, but good on you for rebalancing and soldering on.
Always safety first. Blessings!
Congratulations!! I actually cried when I saw that water coming out and then when it happened again I had to pause the video a bit. You guys have nerves of steel is all I can say! So glad it passed and sending well wishes that the panel gets straightened out!!
I’m so impressed and proud of how you guys handled the bumps in this process. What an experience!
You guys ROCK!! THANK YOU to all the friends/ helpers/angles along the way that helped.
Oh no 🤦♀️
I could totally sympathise with you, as I had a flood in my house the other night.
Great job.
I think I need to go puke now.......
@@SilentStorm_5 ... you might want to have that checked out by a doctor. Could be a severe case of pompous-ass-id reflux
Luckily Kevin's worked with inspector.A good General Contractors reputation goes a long way.
🤣I wanted that conversation on film between Kevin and the inspector💯😂
We all know you aren’t entirely satisfied, but I hope in your hearts you are amazed with yourselves. You’ve done a remarkable job!
Bless you both and your precious doggies. I wish you all the best with your new home.
I look forward to my Monday and Friday mornings watching what's new in the Trent & Allie world. Great job. love your enthusiasm.
All I could think about was Trent’s gramma folding their laundry and having to watch this video! The “Sheer Panic” she’d feel!!!
This comment deserves an oscar.!!!!
Trent: "I might seem calm on the surface".
You tube: Nope, not the word we'd be using.
Amped is the word that came to mind when he said that
Awesomely great, I am so happy for you guys.
It was “all the energy” I was giggling.
Thank you for being open with your feelings...a good example for all.
Bahahaha! Exactly!
So Happy that you've passed the 4-way inspection!!!! This electrical problem, shall too, pass!! Great job!!
OMG I knew exactly what happened when that plug failed. I'm so sorry for that added stress. You are all doing great, keep up the good work!
Sorry about the trouble, guys, but it's great that you passed the inspection!
My heart goes out to you
The two of you were meant to be together. You really do compliment one another. Love, love, love your videos.
Oh my God I was almost in tears!!! You guys have grit!!!!💚
Just another day in the life of T & A. Look at this way, the flooding right before the inspector arrives brought excitement to your content. Congratulations on all the good news!
Congratulations on almost passing the four-way. You’ve done an amazing job. Thanks for taking us on your wild house-building ride.
Oh my gosh, those floods! I'm so sorry. I'm glad you passed your inspection and hope these new problems will get resolved soon. Stay safe.
This video just cured me of my dream of building a house 😊
How wonderful, a huge congratulations guys!
Facing distaters and keeping the camera rolling ??!! Hats off, much respect to you, Allie.
[Edited for typo]
Oh my goodness! This was one of the first videos that popped up, I started to watch and immediately stopped, got caught up since the beginning of the build! Finally got to see where all the water was coming from. So much progress! So stoked and happy for y’all.
Two words.... EMOTIONAL ROLLER-COASTER! Today's video was better than a ride at Disney World lol.
Congratulations on the inspection! You’ll figure out, if you haven’t already the electrical situation.
I just love Lika’s ears! She’s growing so fast! ❤️
I just defended my masters thesis yesterday and it was a lot less stressful than this video
Hope it went well!! Congratulations!
@@TrentandAllie roughly the same result as your inspection! 😆
Congratulations!!
Congratulations I hope you won!!!!
😂 lmao
Oh crap! I’m afraid to watch..... but I’m gonna!!! ❤️
What a day you poor kids. I’m so impressed with the passing of the inspection. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍granny b
Congratulations on passing your 4-way!! Murphy’s law was absolutely in effect that day. Hope you’ve figured out your electrical issue and have moved on to insulation. You’ve done a ton of hard work and it paid off!
Congratulations on your 4-way inspection pass! Exciting time!
Well done.
You deserved a good outcome there , so much attention to detail , that you have very little to go wrong , God bless.
Congratulations on passing your four-way-inspection!!! Still, that water flooding your house looked really terrible...
You were bound to pass, Allie has been supervising the whole time. Congrats kids.
Patrick McLain - To be honest, it was just a 'near' pass. One more time should do it.
That was tough to watch I can only imagine what it was like to live it! The music went great with the scene, glad you were recording!! So suspenseful!!!
if this was on Netflix...it would be bingeworthy for sure!
Yup this would be up there with my favorites Trent & Ally & Schitts Creek lol
Never thought of it; but you saying that....could totally see them doing a remodel home/garden show (eatting), travel show...helping communities here and there. global meet-and-greets.

It is already a binging show on YT. The whole channel.
I was on pins and needles watching them going through all the emotions.
That's the way to go. I know you would you all the best. Love you all.
I've been building for 50 years and inspections always make me nervous. You folks did a great job for your first time out. Enjoy watching your adventures.
Congrats on passing. Sorry for the flooding and electrical issues. I know you guys will prevail !!!
Take ya hat off, kick ya boots off and kick back, grab a brew and relax! It will all be there tomorrow!
Words of wisdom.
@@joaniebowers5231
Moisture barriers don’t matter when the building materials are soaking wet and not dried up as much as possible immediately.
@@youfinallyfoundwaldo1364 have you taken your medication lately?? Mold is not going to be a problem there.🤦♂️ have you ever been in construction???
Congratulations on passing a milestone - so many new opportunities for learning and growth - next inspection will be so much better now that you have gone through it and know what to expect.
Wow! When all that water started flowing....I was SO worried! Congrats on the inspection pass and the small things to fix! Trent? You and Allie are home builders!!! Teresa
