    Great video. I have been a contractor for 40 years and you have done a great job. One piece of advice about inspections. A clean open work space, no clutter gives the inspector a easier time and gives the impression of a careful thoughtful builder. Flood is optional

    "The stress is high" is the greatest understatement I've ever heard. I could not imagine having the inspector in at all after the water disaster. Trent "I have no idea what I'm doing" to the inspector!!! No don't admit to that because it is simply not true. You might not be a professional but really you know far more than you give yourself credit for. Congrats on the pass.

      All I’m saying is that he does know what he’s doing and he should acknowledge that. His statement wasn’t meant as a joke. It was a statement of his nervousness in his nervousness.
      I’m just saying you don’t tell the cop you only had 5 beers when he pulls you over for a broken tail light.

    OMG Trent!
    As a musician I have dealt with wet electronics. Yes, it needs to dry out. I know you wanna check it right away, but let it sit for 24 hours first, even if it seems dry. Take a break, walk away and do something else. Clear the deck outside. Remove snow around Terry. Just let the panel rest and try it tomorrow.
    If you have one, set up a dehumidifier by the panel.

      I had a phone to which i dropped it a bucket full of water. immediately threw it in a bag a of rice and wait for a day and it would kinda turn on but then it flickered and flat out died. After getting a new phone and forgetting about it for a few months, my dad decided to turn it on and it worked....I guess i didn't wait long enough or something?

Great first impression for an inspector as he walks through the door. Bet you made his day! Just be happy Buster Keaton nothings else crazy happened to make the inspector turn around as he was walking out. 🤣🥰. Congratulations! And Thank-you for letting us be part of your journey. • @connemalai8320
      @connemalai8320 3 роки тому +5

      @@julianursten6399 you can do a little calculating in your head to get a rough estimate on how much C it is. Just take the F number, subtract 30 and divide it by 2. If you have 100f, minus 30 would be 70 and divide it by 2. Now you know 100 F is pretty warm, around 35°C. This isn't super accurate but I got tired of converting it always so I just do this and it's so easy that you can do it in your head.
      Going into the negative numbers it still works. With 23F - 30 = - 7. Divide by 2 and you got somewhat - 3°C. So kinda cold but not too much below freezing.

      Here is the policy and the reasoning behind it from the manufacturers' point of view: FLOODING AND SAFETY FLOOD DAMAGED HVAC EQUIPMENT Following unprecedented flooding in the mid-west, Rheem® is extremely conscious of the need to maintain a focus on the safety of homeowners, building owners, inhabitants and servicing contractors returning to or requesting repairs of damaged property. The careful inspection of HVAC equipment in the areas effected is key to proper function and safety moving forward. Flooding or partial submersion of HVAC equipment can damage safety features within the unit and the controls. Consumers, whose units may have been subjected to flooding, are advised to immediately contact a trained, professional service contractor to assess all heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment before resuming operation. Rheem recommends that any HVAC equipment subjected to flooding be replaced and scrapped to avoid any risk of injury or harm. In the short term, the equipment may run, but over time, wiring harnesses and other components may have long-term issues and degradation of safety functions, reliability, and performance. Immersion or partial immersion by floodwaters of the equipment can compromise its key operational components, in which case the warranty will be voided. Flood damaged equipment should be handled as a homeowner's or building owner's insurance claim, and the equipment should be replaced. This equipment should not be repaired as a warranty claim or serviced on a standard call

    Well done guys. What a rollercoaster of a day so many extremes. I couldn't believe it when water started cascading down into the basement but to have it happen twice. I actually shouted out loud "Oh No", nearly waking my hubby. So glad the 4 way went well but what a way to finish the day with the 'flippin trippin'. Hope you get the electriics sorted soon.💜💚👍🧡💛

    Great job guys! Im a heating contractor myself and I like how your system is set up. I always make sure that the customer registers their furnace and condenser warranties with the factory. Most manufacturers offer a free 10 year parts warranty on their furnaces, condensers usually have Five. Also, you may want to check your energy companies for cash rebates. In Utah you can get as much as $350 back in the form of a check. Even your water heater, windows, appliances and insulation may be eligible. Good times ahead!

      Moisture barriers don’t matter when the building materials are soaking wet and not dried up as much as possible immediately. Mold starts growing in 24-48 hrs and there’s absolutely no way to dry it all completely before then. Insurance isn’t going to replace all subfloor, studs, everything that got wet and is wicking into the building materials further and further. That’s just not how any of that works and let’s face it...it won’t get done. It didn’t need to happen. So now mold is growing and will continue to and this is their long time home which could make them sick. It is what it is.
