Joseph Castelli Nice! I bet that will be a killer sounding guitar. I have a strat that I’ve been considering replacing the single coil in the bridge with a humbucker and I’ve been looking into the Lollar imperial f as one of the options!
Thanks! I really dug the looks of the Friedman Vintage T and that inspired this Warmoth build. I highly doubt you'll be disappointed if you order from Warmoth.
Exactly the right choice for the neck. I have big hands and all thin necks are not really comfortable for me. In addition, the Fat Neck sounds better when you play 11´ 12´ 13 s gauge strings. Warmoth is also known for its quality. Anyway I think it was the right choice. cheers - / ,, /
Thanks, I love the neck on it. Good luck with your HSS build! The hardest part for me was soldering all the electronics, but it was really more time consuming than anything. I really enjoyed the whole process and will definitely build another one. I'm thinking a traditional telecaster for the next one! Thanks for the comment.
To get your money back out you will have to part it out... but like you said... if you are assembling a partscaster, you are doing it to get a custom result just for you.
I didn't, and I don't plan to. I've had a couple of guitar buddies play it and they've never mentioned anything about the frets and they've really enjoyed playing it. I know there are a lot of people online who claim that a fret level is necessary, but I personally have not found that to be the case. I have even played other friend's warmoths and they never leveled their frets and those guitars played very well. Maybe a fret level will make it play even more better lol. But, I personally haven't found it necessary.
Was it the 1 5/8” nut? I want to leap.....any difference in tone as compared to flat sawn non-baked maple? Do you lose warmth and gain definition? Does it it feel slinkier with out the string trees? Looks like a sweet build.
I got the 1 11/16' nut. As far as tone is concerned I really don't know. I do know that all parts considered I really love the sound of the guitar (the vids don't do it justice, I'm still learning to get a recorded guitar sound that I am happy with, in this particular video I have the amp pretty close to the camera's Rhode mic). If I'm being honest, I mainly chose a roasted maple neck so I wouldn't need a finish, and looks were a secondary consideration. I really didn't consider the tonal qualities for this particular purchase. And if you had not of asked, I probably would never have thought about it, but now that you mention it, yeah, I'd say that it does seem a bit slinkier without the string trees, lol. If you haven't ran across it yet, check out Lucas Fowler's vid on the warmoth roasted maple necks. He talks about their tonal characteristics : ua-cam.com/video/CDtgFT4MpyU/v-deo.html Thanks for the comment!
Hi Benton. My wife is a nurse and they are getting almost overwhelmed at the hospital with young people coming in who can't breathe from Vaping. Vaping does permanent damage to your "alveolus" which are responsible for the gaseous exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide in your lungs and bloodstream. You need them to breathe and live. Once those sacs are damaged they are not fixable or repairable. These people are being put on a list for lung transplants. If there's anyone in your life you care about or just care about yourself. Please STOP Vaping my brother.
Thanks for sharing! Is that a 2 piece or 1 piece flamed roasted maple? Warmoth is telling me they no longer build 1 piece flamed roasted maple neck, only 2 piece.
If you pick the modern/vintage construction style, the fretboard and neck shaft will be one piece with a skunk stripe in the back for the truss rod installation. That’s as close to a one piece that you’ll get from them.
Doing my third warmoth build and I love it. I use the Hipshot as well! I am doing a HSS with two Lollar Blondes and anImperial-f in the bridge

That is a beautiful tele deluxe! I really need to order from Warmoth asap!

Thanks, it's one of my guitars that I grab the most to play and I have 11s on it. :)
Looks nice man! I am currently trying to build a guitar
. It's good fun!

I like to rub a few thin coats of tru oil. It will make that great wood grain pop too.
Great idea
Awesome build dude. I'm currently making my custom baked maple neck with SS frets, did you have to do a fret level of any kind?
I didn't, and I don't plan to. I've had a couple of guitar buddies play it and they've never mentioned anything about the frets and they've really enjoyed playing it. Damn that Tele is a sexy looking beast. But if it was in my hands, I'd be playing some bad Blink 182 riffs
Haha. Thanks, man. I love it. It’s the guitar I grab the most because it sounds sweet and can do just about anything.
