Roger Babcock thanks. I have every game we played in the 2019 season on my other channel “HORSESHOE PITCHING”. I put them over there so nobody has to watch commercials before each video. There’s a few exciting matches coming down the pipe.
nice way to start off the new year. its so nice seeing bobby c and dan playing again. saw you and rick in the back ground. i believe tournaments start in georgia in two weeks. we started league play three weeks ago. man am i rusty, no pitching over the winter and no pitching during this covid mess, and boy does it show.
I shot horrible last week but it’s funny because I’ve been pitching really good lately. It happens, so I’ll just come back stronger next week. I’ll be ready to rock n roll. Good hearing from you again.
Just recently started watching your videos. Really enjoy them. A few of my friends and I love throwing horseshoes!! We're here in NC, I never have played ringers are 3. We always scored them as 5 lol it'd be really fun to play against yall. I'm sure I could learn a lot!! Anyway, keep up the good videos!! 🤙
Great to hear from you. Playing ringers as 3 points makes a game last a little longer and that’s the only way I’ve ever played. I’ll keep making even if nobody watches. I enjoy it.
Topping Ringers. That was an argument at POST 9190. We knew the rules were the top shoe goes first. The problem was that with the ringers canceling each other why do the other shoes not count for points. Our closest shoe rule has been adopted most everywhere here in North Texas.
I don’t know where exactly in the video you’re referring to but yes, in the case of top ringers, you count the next closest point. In “topped ringers no points” it goes to the person that tops or goes last so we are doing it the same way you’re doing it in Texas.
It’s a baseball field mix. Mostly clay mixed with a little sand. It takes less work to keep it in playable condition. In our league we allow pitching from 30 feet if you’re 65 years old or more. This 5 year reduction allows older gentlemen to enjoy the sport longer.
Thanks. The measurement from the stake to the foul line is usually 3 feet and the from the stake to the side is 18 inches. Full pit dimension is usually around 6 feet long by 3 feet wide. Walkways are usually 18 inches wide giving the final measurements at 6’ x 6’. I really appreciate that you watched and I hope you enjoyed it.
Looks like Dan’s ( River Rats ) foot is over the line while shooting a bunch of times during the match. Is that a foot foul and should someone let him know?
Yes it’s a foot foul. I will let him know. I noticed that in the videos as well. If we are a Championship team then we must be adhering to the rules more than any other team. Thanks for the comment.
Plus… we’ve been down 0-19 and we’ve won 21-19 so I’d never play skunk rules in any game. Even cornhole I’ve been down big and come back and won games.
Bserk92 Yes people play that way but our league try’s to adhere to NHPA rules as best we can. In the event of topped ringers the team that “tops” goes first. This allows a change because in horseshoes, throwing first can be vital. I’m Cornhole we play “Last point goes first”.
Hmm wish I could play on a league.. I’ve played 25 years on sand bars my whole life and on mountainsides in the ozarks and even on gravel.... so I can out plan any of these guys.. I throw about 3 ringers out of 4 .. not too bad.. but my dad is lil better.. my whole family play very competitive
Stuart Hall that’s great. Really fun sport. If you guys are on Facebook, you can play on your own pits against anyone in the world. Just check our “HORSESHOE PITCHING ONLINE” on Facebook.
Stuart Hall yes he did. I mentioned it to him and he fixed the problem. Now he’s about 12” from the line. He over exaggerated the fix. Now he needs to move up a little bit.
This is just the way we play here in Illinois. Another form of handicapping for the trailing opponent. If we don’t want them to go first we just continue putting on 6 packs but we aren’t that good
Good to see horse shoe videos again. Great look at the players and pits. Keep sending them. Thanks very much. Really enjoy them.

Good to see you guys back playing!
Dragonfly Horseshoes glad to be back pitching.

What dirt is in the pits?
Why 30 feet pitching?

Nice game fellas👍. Question? What's the measurement from the pole to the foul line . Front and sides🤔. K thanks

What do you guys do for skunks? The league I play in does 11-0 and that's a skunk.
We don’t play skunk rule. Last years handicap was a max of 12 points. This year it’s a max of 9. Hard to play skunk rule with those handicaps.
Plus… we’ve been down 0-19 and we’ve won 21-19 so I’d never play skunk rules in any game. Even cornhole I’ve been down big and come back and won games.
Ok. Was just wondering how other leagues do it. Thanks!
The league I'm in we follow our partner
Last point goes first with us here in cali. Don’t believe in giving them a chance
Yes. That would be nice. Even after a four dead situation, the topping opponent wouldn’t get to go first? That would be cruel and unusual punishment
Last point
Last point goes first

Where do you pitch?
I’m from Southern California brother. Your guys from Ohio?
No we are aren’t from Ohio. We play in Northern Illinois.
Follow the point.
Do you pitch backyard or at a club?
Hmm wish I could play on a league.. I’ve played 25 years on sand bars my whole life and on mountainsides in the ozarks and even on gravel.... so I can out plan any of these guys.. I throw about 3 ringers out of 4 .. not too bad.. but my dad is lil better.. my whole family play very competitive

The guy in shorts has cheated bunch of times by stepping over the line.
Stuart Hall yes he did. I mentioned it to him and he fixed the problem. Now he’s about 12” from the line. He over exaggerated the fix. Now he needs to move up a little bit.
