Love it..not for the dude who is going to put is through 35 Preamp pedals..it's just a great standalone bass...Amazing...it's what Sadowsky used to do with the Japan Metros in terms of pricing
Hi Anthony, thank you for this detailed video. I’m just wondering, are you sure about the fact that the first Ultra series missed the Posiflex rods? I always thought that Posiflex rods were a standard spec for US made Fender basses except Performer and vintage inspired ones
This has been debated recently... and I was always under the assumption that they didn't since Fender NEVER talked about it. If I stand corrected I apologize. Thanks for watching - Anthony
@@EmpireMusicPgh thank you very much for the answer Anthony. Yes, you’re right. It was not mentioned in the specs for Ultra I. One last question: is it true that the tone control is now working on both active and passive modes?
I really like the changes-quartersawn maple neck is money. Love the luminous side dots. String through body. Not super crazy about the 65948653908650843650438 knobs on it-cause I'm a simp-but the versatility is certainly there.
It's what you get with Active unfortunately... but yeah, I feel you. I like simplicity... I played an entire set of music with the wrong setting on my Elrick last week... too many knobs/switches to notice... lol. Thanks for watching - Anthony
Poor Anthony having to make at least 3 videos highlighting this new range lol...could been a sub-5 minute single video to encompass everything across the range worth mentioning. Dig the jamming though.
They make a 5 Jazz only, but they are still really nice!! We did a video on a Red one, but they do the Avalanche (White) w/maple. Call the shop at 412-343-5299 and we can HOOK YOU UP! Thanks for watching - Anthony
Man I just love the maple fret boards...
On a P?!?! C'mon!!! LOVE IT!!! I can'r get enough it... Thanks for watching - Anthony
That opening jam was on point, sir!
Thanks Danny! Appreciate that. Thanks for watching and being a part of the channel - Anthony
Great review. That is a nice bass! Sounds great.
I found the entire Ultra II Bass lineup quite impressive! Thanks for watching - Anthony
great review, I think I love the maple more from the tone

I think these basses fit a shockingly wide range of players and uses. sub -$2500 and you get a LOT! Thanks for watching - Anthony
Anthony is a great salesman.
Lol... I try to be. Thanks! - Anthony
The switch is probably there because the input jack is poking into the space next to the Mid tone knob.
Again... way above my pay-grade lol. But that makes sense, Thanks - Anthony

Does every knob have the detent in the middle position? My mid outer/large knob doesn't, the rest do. Curious if that's normal?
Yes normal its the only one and that’s because it’s just the passive tone blend.

I WILL NEVER MAKE A SUB 5 MINUTE VIDEO. Unfortunately, I'm long-winded when it comes to this stuff. Apologies in advance - Anthony
How look's signal chain to recording?
Is the modern "D" neck slimmer front to back than the modern "C"?
Yes..a flatter spine pulls the two sides a bit closer together.. very comfortable for those who like slim/fast profile. Thanks for watching - Anthony
9.5? I thought the neck was compound radius?
Need a 5 string version of this
Not the first time I've heard that.. Just a Jazz in this series. Thanks for watching - Anthony
Why doesn’t Fender make this exact bass with 5 strings?
They make a 5 Jazz only, but they are still really nice!! We did a video on a Red one, but they do the Avalanche (White) w/maple. Call the shop at 412-343-5299 and we can HOOK YOU UP! Thanks for watching - Anthony
I agree. Fender needs to get more into 5 string pjs
If sounds good ! The knobs would probably drive me nuts but they do make it quite versitile
I got used to them super fast... nice basses. Mike you have the REAL GOOD STUFF though. lol. Thanks for watching - Anthony
If only it was a 5-string.
