- We decided to install another Front Runner Gullwing window to our Defender and we thought why not film the process. When we installed our first window we struggled to find any videos online that showed the process clearly so we thought we'd better make a video!
The new window is awesome in the car and makes the space feel brighter and more spacious.

Hi guys. Just about to fit this to my ‘09 Defender. Could you tell me the distance from the rear of the panel you mounnted it pls?
Hi Alex. I think it’s around 150mm but it doesn’t matter too much if you are cutting into a van panel. Just make sure you don’t go through the supports on the inside. Measure check and measure again! 😀👍🏻

I have a question, how do you find the window helps mostly with blind spots and when you come to a stop sign to see the other cars coming? Did you paint or prime the edges that were cut before installing the frame at all?
We don’t really use the windows much for our blind spots.
The view to the right hand side window is blocked by our cabinetry and the left one is visible when in the drivers seat so we use it sometimes but normally I just check out the passenger window for oncoming traffic for Harry or he just uses his mirrors.
Without the cabinetry you could use the windows for extra visibility whilst driving.

I have a similar defender and when we're on trips it's a must to have a partner in the passenger seat to look out for oncoming traffic, the problem is when the passenger is asleep or the driver is driving solo, I thought a window might help a little bit .
Regarding the edges of the panel after making the cut, did you leave the exposed aluminium or did you paint the edges before installing the window?
What brand gullwing is that? Have a link?
