“People make one shirt and think they’re Virgil Abloh” -Kerwin Frost
@Alex Martins yeah but he approaches streetwear and fashion in an intellectual way and he elevated the streetwear movement for many people in the industry.
Semi no he didn’t. He’s a dude who got lucky and finessed the industry because he got famous friends
@@naganeerajkorada1557 ooooohhhhh hell nah
to all these comment i think virgil did have something different and without kanye he would atleast be a little popular but it is true that his connections gave him a boost.

Its actually better since more people buy online
This is REALLY good advice and has 100% worked in my experience
😂exactly
Whatsapp luv your videos 😘😘😘😍
"Its not any different than any other year." oof. That did not age well lol. But love the video so far
You mean yall ain't giving me the 1 single secret that will turn me into a global fashion icon?! Dammit. 🤦🏾♂️
Edit : I see these "reactors" on UA-cam selling a lot of merch. I don't get it.
the nerves of some people am i right?
Just assholes bro. Everywhere. Time to start thinning out the heard!
If your getting started you should grab this book and have a read! www.lulu.com/shop/go-getter-world/the-clothing-brand-start-up-guide/paperback/product-24492879.html It helped
me learn everything and is not too long!
Y’all better listen to this man !! He ain’t lying I’ve been working on my brand for while now and it ain’t easy as all the other you tubers say. Also watch his previous “How to Start a Brand” 1-9 it’s really realllyyyyy helpful and in depth
If it wasn't for you i wouldn't have my brand today, we sell out every drop 300+ pieces. Thank you Reggie
What's your brand called mate?
Congrats. That’s amazing
Rodrigo Tinoco any tips you could give us?
Rodrigo Tinoco tips???
Sounds fishy
I've got no plan on starting a brand but as someone who's relatively new to UA-cam and just started on Insta, it's a super interesting way of thinking about things.
I know!
Dayum this is actually so useful. Personal Brand --> Business Brand. I want to start an African fashion business, but I'll plan it in the background whilst I'm waiting for my UA-cam account to grow.
Good to see a fellow African here. I hope your UA-cam is doing well and growing now (I just noticed how aged this comment is).
This is perfect timing. I was just telling someone about creating a brand of yourself and clothing label is one way to express your work. I've been planning mines for a little over a year.

I’m starting my journey today how’s your going
@@carlitocoolin0612 It's getting there. Right now it's in production.
@@TiaBowser nice I need a website and all tbh starting young
TrapLantic60s are u still a teenager? I’m still 17 but I wanna start one
bro i just want to thank you for posting this. every point you kept bringing up kept hitting exactly on the thoughts i was having that needed to change. much appreciated
I started Third World Famous from making promotional tees for my friend’s rap videos. I will admit that doing videos on social media garnered a lot of interest that I didn’t expect
I agree! I am not here if If not because of my brand.
I think everyone that wants to start a brand needs to see this! This is totally something that is rarely talked about. Once you start a brand you realize that once the design and product are there you need to put in way more work in building connections and an audience. This is typically the point where most people that start end up giving up.
I handle merchandise production and consultation for UA-camrs, voice actors, graphic designers, and so forth. This is definitely one of my top favorites from the Casual in the past couple of years. Learning what isn't being said was a golden piece of advice. Thanks again!
This is seriously the best message for fundamentally tackling this problem. It’s one of the reasons why I held off until this year for an idea I have that requires more than just the brand name. It needs a mission. And that mission starts with me doing a music podcast and events first. Then add pieces to that overall effort. But it starts with me. Thanks for this inspirational video.
thank you for youre advices, i am actually saving up right now to buy a seewing machine and make clothes that i design and i have a note book full of them
How is life doing now?
i do nature and street art photography, make abstract art, and make fractal art from all of that. i want to put my designs in print but also on clothes. i also want to get back into other forms of art that i've let slide due to time and money constraints, like metalsmithing, ceramics, and weaving. most of the design i see on your channel looks really cool, but it's all really muted colors. what i want to design is going to be like wearing an art museum. so colorful, statement pieces. i really appreciate this channel, it's teaching me the hard things i need to face if i want to do something larger than POD.
This would apply a lot more to streetwear than other more "traditional" areas of fashion like "Luxury", Haute Couture etc... For them, personal branding came after their clothing brand became successful and after hard physical work designing collections, perfecting designs, establishing a market, attracting buyers / investors, cementing an identity, networking and designing fashion shows etc...
Names that come to mind include Rei Kawakubo, Junya Watanabe, Alexander McQueen, Zack Posner, Stella McCartney, Alexander Wang among many others, but this newer way of building a brand is nonetheless very valid and interesting to see, as displayed by all those mentioned in this video and more.
Holy shit just realized how many subs you're at now.... Since your first video I watched you've been one of my favorite youtubers because of your original yet relevant content, and your clear speaking voice and well thought out phrases. Love your content keep it up Reggie!!
I'll start my personal brand as being one of the first pro/known skaters in Malawi and then i'll drop the street-wear brand. PERFECT
This guy is right.
I'm actually from this and I want to do it again.
I created a personal brand as a trader on Facebook and people knew me. So I decided to start a UA-cam channel about trading and its growing at a speed I never expected.
.
Now I want to use the same method to start and grow a clothing brand.
THANK U SO MUCH THIS REALLY MADE SENSE!! right now i'm customizing clothing and shoes and i wanted to start my line later on i didn't know that that is what a lot of designers did
Yo, Reggie, this was huge. Thank you so much for this vid, my man. From one Reggie to another
Mind blowing content 🔥🔥
This made so much sense, thank you 🙏
I'm just 15 and I wanted to start my own business right now cuz I love a fashion that is mixed with culture, poetry, pure, mysterious, gorgeous, music, and love.
I want to start a brand that everybody can wear for their everyday life. I want my culture to know internationally and to showcase my works and skills for my people.
Start a business
How its going
The personal branding part is so underrated. How will anyone care about your brand of they barely know or care about u
Yess we love the realness!
this is an incredible video man!
how selfless of you!
Good video. In my humble opinion info videos will last and always be fresh, we don't know what to learn if we never get guidance. This is way better then don't wear wack clothing videos...
Greate Content & amazing advice. It’s very easy for entrepreneurs that are starting out to get bad guidance when it comes to starting a brand (I’m talking to you click bait UA-camrs). Some advice for my fellow entrepreneurs... ask yourself why are you starting a brand? Why should someone buy your product? What does your brand represent? What do you have to offer the industry? Or The world? Also READ! READ! READ! and listen to business podcasts. Get a mentor if you can and look for free government business start up programs in your area. One last thing... You will make lot’s of mistakes when starting out and things might take years to pick up. Just know that this is all apart of the process! Keep on grinding! Peace
This is my experience!
Thank you for actually being helpful, that’s all I can say! 🤷🏽♂️
Love this after starting my brand about a month ago I’m more confident then ever, pretty much believe in yourself. Love that
What he is talking is what I am also doing. Personal branding. I don't have money to start so I used my time to start my own brand. I am telling my story.
Wait, you mean I can't just put quotation marks on words and call myself a designer? Aw man...
I mean you could make silhouettes and then put quotation marks on words and then you’ll be a designer
@@prodsosia that’s not what Virgil did tho he took blank tees and put words in quotation marks added a zip tie and that pretty much was all she wrote
I´d like to add to the personal brand aspect , that you SHOULD !!! definately invest in yourself but don´t try to be someone the public probably would like. Just be yourself, by time your following will grow, in a reliable and economic healthy way eventually.
Wow I've never heard of this tips before. I heard to write it down to remember
I'm a visual artist
But i love my art on clothes
So this is sooo helpful
I'm getting a sewing machine soon
This month
Wow u just opened my eyes
This video really helped, this guy is spitting facts, i just subscribed
Man. i totally agree with you. It is hard work. i am too starting my own brand of clothing. thanks for the tips. Great Video Reggie!
thank you for being so realistic yet so inspirational lol
this video had such good info, great
I found this very informative. Branding is very important
Awesome video very charismatic and well structured thanks ✊
Could someone answer these important question for me.
1.) How can you put your design on shirts, trousers etc...?
2.) Do you need like a Macbook or iMac or something?
3.) Is there a good app that allows you to do that?
4.) How can you find the right material for your clothes?
5.) Can you produce like a hundred of the same design?
6.) Any tips on starting an online clothing brand from scratch/nothing?
great video dude!
Thank you for this. It really has been helpful working to build my personal brand.
I would love it if i can see what type of materials japanese brands use into their clothing i recently created my own garment factory and im lost for words at how low the quality of readily available fabrics are here in the Philippines!!
You've got to go directly to Mills
Yeah bro. I feel you, that's why everytime I searched for raw products, I directly check foreign garments.
GREAT VIDEO BRO THANKSSSSS
I’m an upcoming rapper/artist and I was looking to start my own clothing line I have ideas and but not really the tools to start I was looking for equipment prices and stuff but the information was useful
I've studied textiles art and makeup all my life, I love fashion and every time I go to bed I dream of my fashion brand, i may have all the creative skills however I'm not business minded. Lots of things business wise confuse me, I don't always know what everything means or how to do it. I'm also dyslexic so research becomes difficult and very hard for me to understand. I wish wish wish I could one day make a brand of my own. I love tailored clothing, I love quality in clothing. I have the whole aesthetic and ideas but not the money or know how
Olivia Demetriou we can help each other let’s talk thank you
Olivia Demetriou lets work together, I’m from France
@only1andrews hi! Do you have an Instagram I can see?! Maybe we could chat on there ! :)
I'm the opposite. I'm a business minded person and I love researching some stuffs especially related to fashion and business but I'm not an artist or designer.
I see a few of people are reaching out to in these comments, but please be alert as a lot of people want to steal your idea and take it for themselves.
Instructions unclear now I have a clothing band and the turtleneck won't quit playing a bassline
Thank you so much for the amazing clothing brand content the casual!
Thank you so much for this video, much needed. Helped me look at a new perspective of the fashion world
Everything he said was spot on. As an artist (PREMO) trying to brand myself I noticed... most of the time it’s not about the art but more about the artist. There’s ALOT of people on social media as successful artist and if we’re honest .. they ain’t THAT great BUT they’re great people and consistent with content. It’s more about how YOU sell yourself rather than the art itself. I feel like the same applies to brands. So personal branding before the actual BRAND is key. You gain a platform before you sell, giving you a higher success rate.
This is way too helpful 💪👍
Imma start working on my personal brand starting now... I wanna start a yt for thrifting because I'm getting into it. AND MENS FASHION!!! I WANT TO INSPIRE OTHER MEN TO GET INTO FASHION... Why is there barely any men into fashion
Thanks a lot this video changed my view
This was exactly what I needed
Good advice and I stared my cloth brand in 2020. its hard to put all the information together.
This video is everything.
You're a king among men
Wow how do you know wht I’m doing 9 months into the future 😆😆 I’m here for it !
Super useful!! I just started a brand and I’m a bit lost on what to do next..😔 thank you
This spoke to me so well. I am a manga artist and already have a pretty good platform and am currently creating a street wear brand so I might as well show off my art first and build that up first
Plug your instagram bro, ill give it a follow
What's your Instagram account so I can follow you?
Whats your IG man?
This was super useful. Thanks 🙏
Great stuff here
I'm a brand designer in year 2023 and I'm about to start up a clothing brand
So I have started my brand called Pacific Panda Co. and I WISH I saw this first. Don’t get me wrong I am very proud where I’m at, but with this video itself, I would of loved your insight! Im here though, with no regret! Hi my name is Jun Isamo, I own Pacific Panda Co. and I will rise up 🐼🌸 thank you for this VALUEABLE info! Big ups brother!
Starting ain't staying but the details on the subject are well explained here.
Thank you very much for this unique insight
tbh, the best ever!
Love the intro!
This make sooo much sense 👌🏽👌🏽
At the end of
The day..if you build it they will come..there is nothing ritually better at drawing in success and manifesting your dreams than investing in yourself and your ideas..social media following or not..just do it..
I was looking for a niche or a business and all I can think of is starting a clothing brand. I want to learn everything about it and succeed. There’s a lot of people that have a clothing brand but I want to be able to succeed. How would I do this?
reply here with your next big thing after striking the reality
Try and think of a unique idea targeted towards a select audience as its better to have a small loyal group who will rely on your brand rather than a large group who will just stumble on your account and come and go
As someone who has made a few clothing lines this is the best advice I can give you
@@zanyarsaleh7760 Had any success?
Reggie you the man Thank you
I really enjoyed this video. I’ve always enjoyed art but this made me feel more serious about putting myself out there on the media. Of course I’ve thought of using this as a form of promotion to build a following, but I never felt it could get anywhere. But watching this solidified the desire to just put myself out there and start getting “bold”. Great video 👍
I truly underestimated the concept of having a “personal brand”
2:38 Me releasing I can’t do anything
far out this is some great advice!! how is this free lol thank you mate!!
this is definitely, pure hearted advice.
I started my brand making custom fedoras almost 5 years ago. I’m in the process of rebranding this year to incorporate clothing. This video was the added little push to just get it done. Thanks Reggie!!
Has it been profitable?

Hello can i talk to you?
can you tell us deeper on 'personal brand', like how can we relate the personal brand to the fashion brand, or how long (how much) the engagement takes to legit start fashion brand after personal brand?
Great information.
Thing is how do u start a brand with me my self when I do lots things and u plan to do lots of things my main thing is to spread a purpose and positivity and keep negative out and follow your vision mine is more of my story then my self
I thank you for this video😭🙏🙏
Thank you mr casual man

Very inspiring!!! Makes total sense. Time to re-write the plan and that's a good thing!
It's such a difficult path, but that's how you know it's the right one!
Y’all probably won’t care but I got a clothing line @misruledusa lmk what y’all think🖤
Love your Videos!! You always give so many good points of view. Watching your Videos for years

Great advice.... I watch the channel all the time ..
So I am a Tattoo artist with many design but do not have the time or experience with shipping orders and creating merch from scratch
I want to use a print on demand to begin my merchandise line .........???
Is this a bad idea ???
Appreciate the knowledge.
You just confirm ! What i was thinking, im A graphic designer whit a lot to learn but this shit is the one that sells, we have to make and imagen for are selfs. More now that everything will be from a internet profile. And i hate the idea but theres no other wave and i mean wave in to the future.
Such brilliant human being. I got just what I wanted. Create a brand about me! My taste, style, personality, etc...great advice. 🤝

My clothing line is called King of strings by Tyrique Lindsay its a fully functional harp with a angel on slides coming soon!
I feel so much better after watching this, I’ve been working on my personal brand and decided to create clothing. I have not launched yet and I’m working on my business brand now. I will admit I am SUPER scared to launch.
How’s your brand going?
