This video was meant to be, perfect timing! I just learned last week that I'm some combination of a pale neutral leaning warm/pale olive. I've been searching for new lipsticks for the last two days now to go with my new discovery. Last night I purchased Chanel "Burning Red" and Maybelline "Self-Starter" and "Enjoy the View". I wasn't sure what else to get after that so this video is really helpful!

Oh, I'm so happy to hear this about the color formula!! It's so convenient to be able to touch up whenever/wherever. And that Dior lipstick sounds nice, I need to try more of their makeup. Do you prefer the Dior formula over other brands? The MAC Chili is definitely worthy of it's cult status on their site. I was surprised how much more it flattered me vs the blue based reds.
@@girlgetglamorous Dior makeup is nothing to write home about, IMO, LOL. Have you ever tried Kjaer Weis? I just bought the cream foundation, cream blush (Sun Touched and Blossoming, wow!), and cream lipstick and I am impressed. The packaging is heavy, but I love it because it is unique and sustainable than most brands. Curious of your opinion on the products? Thanks for the reply, made my day!
I go through phases of red lip obsessions! This was interesting to watch. I actually have Nars dragon girl and I find it clashes too much with my copper hair but I agree it's a unique shade. My fave shades I've found are Beauty bakerie liquid in bowl of cherries - honestly the BEST bright cherry red omg it's stunning ....but the formula is not great. It's long wear but I find I can't wear it more than a few hours before I cannot wait to take it off. My other fave is Mac lady danger. It's the perfect red for ginger/copper hair in my opinion!
Hi Dana, yes, such a good point on the Nars Dragon Girl! I find that it's really flattering as a Strawberry Blonde, but when I went darker copper it did clash. I wish I had remembered and included that info in the video! Thank you for bringing it up. And for MAC Lady Danger suggestion, I will check out that shade. Enjoy your weekend!

You should do a video where you try Besame Cosmetics! They have a PERFECT red called "Red Velvet" and it is *gorgeous* with hair color like ours. ^_^ I also really love their lipsticks called "Chocolate Kiss"... the perfect neutral for strawberry-blondes and redheads, and "Merlot", which is a sultry, Hollywood-in-the-20s, deep-berry-wine color. And all their lipsticks are bullet lipsticks, and fashioned like old Hollywood makeup. Love it. You should do a video on their products!!
You look very glamorous indeed! I have been unexpectedly smitten with revlon’s the lucsious mattes lipsticks. They have a velvety, almost powdery finish (in a good way!). They aren’t transfer proof, but they also don’t require the prep of a liquid lip. I generally only wear a very sheer base or sometimes just spot conceal, and a lipstick that requires liner can just feel unbalanced and these don’t. I especially like insane and show off-each only 5 dollars on Amazon!
Also looking forward to your video on nude lipsticks. They are even harder to find than a good red!

It's SO hard!! I have tried hundreds of lipsticks to test for blog + UA-cam and it's just crazy how few of them I actually wear day-today. Finding the right tones is everything!
I’d love to see more lipstick swatches from you . I’d love to see your favorite browns , mauves , berries …etc . I prefer brown based lipstick. I have peach undertones and don’t wear foundation. I just accept my slight flaws because I have fungal acne prone skin and don’t look good in foundation anyway. Thank you for this video. Nice colors 😊. I finally figured out that I have neutral undertones skewing golden if anything - I think you have called this peach? In fact, you were super helpful in helping me figure it all out, so TY! I am also a blue-eyed redhead (though fading/graying now). But the latest twist in my color plot is: my teeth. I think I could wear a warmer red if my skin was my only concern, but anything with too much yellow/orange just makes my teeth look yellower. I find any cool lip color works better for this reason. But I do think I would have more color latitude if I could afford veneers (or tolerate bleaching).
Hi Judith! I completely understand. The warmer reds are definitely less flattering on my teeth vs the blue based reds. But I feel like they are more flattering with my skin, so it's a trade off for sure. I bought a drugstore whitening toothpaste that I was able to tolerate every 2 weeks that actually whitened well. I'll look it up and report back.

I have such pink undertones, and *everything* sets me off to blushing that I avoid more red on my face LOL I love the look of a good red lip but am just too afraid to jump in for myself. I do have some good berry shades tho, I have learned they flatter my skin tone as I've played :)
Yes, when in doubt, berry always works!! I tend to go for more medium to full coverage foundation when I wear a red lip or else I end up with very reddish looking skin as well, I totally feel you on that.

Hi Justina! I did try a Clairol combo last summer (will be on blog soon) where I mixed two level 8 red and blonde shades from their Soy4Plex line at Sally's. It was pretty, but their level 8 was much lighter and more blonde than the Wella level 8. My hair hadn't been that blonde in 15+ years. I am not sure if their boxed colors also skew lighter. I went to their site and both the copper and reddish blonde level 8 nice + easy shades look pretty. It looks like the Copper shade will give your more reddish results and the red blonde with have a bit more blonde in the finished results. I hope this helps!
Revlon makes some good red shades-for a softer red Softsilver Red is a more watermelon red shade.I also like Fire and Ice and Cherries in the Snow.
Revlon make such pigmented lipsticks. I love that Cherries in the Snow shade, will have to look up the others, thank you for the recommendation!
what about eyeshadow colors? My complexion is so similar to yours, with sea blue eyes- and I struggle choosing eyeshadow colors!

Thanks for the video. I enjoyed so much. But one thing… what they sell as “WHIP LASH” in NARS is not this red but nude/beige. Perhaps is the product name not right…?
I know, it's a bit confusing! Nars describes Whiplash as a "Rusty Nude" on their site, but I found it to be this brick, natural red shade, definitely not a traditional "nude" color at all.
I have a neutral peach undertone that’s a little less warm than yours. It’s not easy finding lipstick shades that look amazing. Most of them just look alright and nothing special. It’s annoying when people say that neutral undertones look great in everything. That’s just lazy advice. Blue undertone reds kind of clash on me and orange undertones look very neon. I prefer yellow, pink, and berry undertones.
