    1 tsp dried basil

Place onions in bottom of slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients. Cover. Cook on low 8 hours. Serve over hot spaghetti (I used rigatoni pasta).

I've seen chefs recommend putting your onion in the freezer for a few minutes. Take it out and dice. The other thing of note is if you handle enough onions in your life the effect is not as bad.

Looks delish! I put onions in the fridge before cutting them or wear glasses while cutting.

I am very sensitive to chopping onions so bad so that I can’t see by the time I’m done. I heard putting your onions in the freezer for 15 minutes before you chop them will help with the tears. And it does. I do that all the time and I don’t tear up much at all after they are frozen for a bit.

Oh man that's awful Cindy. I would totally hate that. I'll have to try putting them in the freezer next time!

I put the onion in the fridge maybe an hour or so before use. Supposed to stop the gas from reaching the eyes.

Buy onion goggles from Amazon. Priscilla of “Pots, Pans, and Priscilla” uses them. She is extremely sensitive to onions and she swears by them. I’ve been meaning to order some.

Looks good. Nice Cutco knife you have there. At 4:55 in the video you say ' two cans of diced tomatoes' but your written recipe says one can of diced tomatoes. I'm going with two cans. Also the written recipe doesn't specify the can sizes ( e.g. 8 oz. , 15 oz. , etc. ) for the diced tomatoes or the tomato sauce. I will print it out and use your can sizes in the video. Thanks for sharing. Thumbs up!

Yes we love Cutco knives! They're really wonderful to use, and hard to use any other brand lol. Thank you for the catch! I corrected the ounces in the description box to : 2 15 oz. cans diced tomatoes! I hope you enjoyed this recipe just as much as we did!!

Rinse onion in cold water. Place a small piece of bread, in your mouth while cutting. It works. I don't understand why....Can NOT wait to try this recipe.
