A girl friend I had 8 years ago wanted me to co-sign on a new car. I did not feel comfortable with that and refused. She broke up with me a few months later. 😂😂😂. Glad I listened to my gut.
My brother bought a house together with a girlfriend. They went through a lawyer for some kind of "agreement." His goal was to marry her, her goal was to get to ten years together and celebrate with a trip to France (she was half his age so obviously the relationship goals were different). At ten years he bought her a ring and a trip to France. She decided against marrying him (I think I was the only one who saw THAT coming) and wanted him to sell the house. He refused and stalled until she had to have a down payment and rent for an apartment, and then he bought her out for a small percent of the value of the house. We told him to get her name off of the deed and never be so foolish sgain. 😬
I knew a woman who dated a guy for a few months, he got her a car with a $500/month payment. When they eventually broke up, she was soooo upset that he wasn’t making the payments anymore and the car eventually got repossessed. She had it stuck in her head that he gave her the car as a present and even though they broke up he should still be making the payments. She was a little crazy.
I know a guy who co-signed on a car for a woman he was dating. She broke up with him, and he was stuck with two car payments, his and hers. He had to work a second job just to make both payments. There's no way I'd co-sign on anything for anyone. I don't care who it is.
I was dating someone who wanted me to wait a year or two on buying a house so we could get something larger together (no proposal, btw). I repeatedly asked him why couldn’t I just sell my house later as the market was supposed to explode. I told him I wasn’t waiting & we could always sell my place later. He broke up with me & I bought the tiny house I could afford. This was in 2019. Best. Decision. Ever.

Would need to hear the other side. Not a lot of deadbeat dads spend tens of thousands on custody battles to get their seed away from toxicity. Not sayin it as fact here. But I would need to hear the whole story.
When I was in my early 20s I had a mutual aquaintance who had divorced her "wealthy and controlling husband." She was forced to live very far below her means because her ex-husband would take her to court every six months to fight for full custody of their son. She told us that she put into a special savings account for the annual court battle, which usually cost around $3,000.00 in legal fees to fight her ex.
@@mikesmith-wk7vy Yes, Captain Obvious, we all heard that in the story, that she and her husband adopted the child. The question is, who currently has physical custody of the child now, her or her husband? That’s because people don’t want to get married, they want to have a wedding. Marriages are super cheap. Weddings usually force you to mortgage your first born child.

It’s crazy how he thinks getting married would save these problems. That will definitely make it worse and she should NOT have put her name on that truck.
The point that came across to me was "do not shack up with some random dude." Cosigning a loan for his truck came across as a desperate move. What she ought to consider doing is dump her car for one that is paid for, bank her extra cash, and focus on her son (the saddest part was her ex-husband and her adopting a boy with special needs and then splitting up a year or two later).

(a country song by danny boone/ rehab called "Bartender Song (Sittin’ At A Bar) " comes to mind... money and assets develop from strong and true plans and real relationships validated by mutual and natural goals ... success doesn't come from personal fantasy and the warped use of other persons...

Yeah I am not sure why she had to be on a boyfriends truck loan. Probably because he could not pay for it. That us a ridiculous amount of car loan to have. It means you can't afford the vehicle. She should get her name of the car loan.
His credit is trashed, obviously.
He is using her. He will dump her soon. They will never ever get married. Wait and see. He is just there for the money and she is a desperate woman looking for validation from a man.
Would need to hear the other side. Not a lot of deadbeat dads spend tens of thousands on custody battles to get their seed away from toxicity. Not sayin it as fact here. But I would need to hear the whole story.
Just hearing her side, and I'm convinced she is the psycho ex, not the husband.
The child was adopted she said
When I was in my early 20s I had a mutual aquaintance who had divorced her "wealthy and controlling husband." She was forced to live very far below her means because her ex-husband would take her to court every six months to fight for full custody of their son.
It was not clear from the call if she currently has physical custody of the child and is fighting to keep that custody, or if the husband has physical custody of the child, and she is fighting to have that changed to give her physical custody of the child.
@@user-mv9tt4st9k It is horrid when an ex used a child to punish their ex. But that doesn't seem to be what is happening in this caller's story.
I'm in Texas and when she told Dave about the fiancé truck I felt the heat off his head wafting up onto my front porch.
lol 😂. yup
😂😂😂😂😂
Some people can afford to buy everything BUT can’t afford to get married for 100$ at a court..
That’s because people don’t want to get married, they want to have a wedding. Marriages are super cheap. Weddings usually force you to mortgage your first born child.
What is it with these 50K-75K trucks these men fell like they need to have? What for?
I have one near 100K.
To haul mulch once a year. Basically wimps who need to feel like a man with their big red truck as Camel says.
Status symbol for a lot of men, rather than a need.
@@KatieBellinobingo. Its prestige.
Ego. Status.
The last thing she needs to do is get married right now…
The moment she sells the truck, the fiancee is gone. 😂😂😂😂😂 you can't buy love crazy lady
Not crazy lady😂😂😂😂.
@@neisci Oh yes she is crazy!
Rachel’s face at the truck for fiancé 😆😲
Who borrows $50,000 for a depreciating vehicle? I don't care what your life situation is, this is stupid. Pay cash for anything that doesn't appreciate in value.
Why couldn't this "Boyfriend" get the truck in his name. SOUNDS like a Red Flag to me..
He NEEDS it, but his credit isn't good. Because he NEEDED that last truck too, and all the other stuff he couldn't pay for.
@herbiehusker1889 lol his needs sounds more like a wants. He as a man should figure out how to get what he needs without using a single mother and her resources. . while dangling a carrot stick with the promise of marriage.. head to a dealership.. she got suckered in my opinion
@herbiehusker1889 he need to focus on improving his credit.. not talking advantages of other and possibly ruin her credit too. No way on God Green earth would I trust someone who don't value there own credit to value mine..
He planed it from the very beginning probably he has a bad credit and she shes not and convinced her to get the truck and if something bad happens (like he lost his job or not making enough money) he can break up with her and not responsible to pay the truck because its not under his name.
Definitely an indicator that his credit score is terrible.
It’s crazy how he thinks getting married would save these problems. That will definitely make it worse and she should NOT have put her name on that truck.
Yes 💯
The point that came across to me was "do not shack up with some random dude." Cosigning a loan for his truck came across as a desperate move. What she ought to consider doing is dump her car for one that is paid for, bank her extra cash, and focus on her son (the saddest part was her ex-husband and her adopting a boy with special needs and then splitting up a year or two later).
@@user-mv9tt4st9k I get it but it’s not only this video. He just through get married at everyone like it’s a joke. Everyone isn’t marriage ready. Some of them are dating. Like this women he’s talking to. Her and her boyfriend isn’t gonna make it to marriage. You hear how he told her to tell him to sell the truck? When she come to him saying that he’s gonna say no and that’s gonna be an argument. Then what if he mess a payment it’s gonna cause another argument. They might break up over the truck.
These people need fpu before marriage. Itll either help or cause them to end the engagement
@@crashtestdummy1972 what is fpu?
Well said Dave...."stop waiting on getting marriage....chaos will still be in your life in 18 months"
Can't help thinking another divorce will be part of that chaos in 18 months if she were to actually get married again (but can't help thinking that's not actually gonna happen either..)
I just don’t understand being stressed about 45K of debt, then tacking on 50K more for a man. She has self esteem issues and needs to be in therapy and reflection, not married!
“This cruck is crazy!” Sent me. 😂😂😂
Erm, “no! , I’m not buying a 50k truck when I’m fighting to keep my child!” What ?? 😅
Her story isn't really adding up and when a story doesn't add up its probably bullshit.
Also to Dave why is her Ex husband crazy because he wants his adopted child?
I’m near the end of the video, and am I the only one that’s starting to think that SHE is the “crazy ex”?
I'm glad Dave spoke more than Rachel here. The caller is all the place and needed a stern voice
Probably called in hoping John would be there to affirm everything and tell her how much of a strong and awesome single mom she is without knowing any history between her and her ex. Sounds like she makes one bad decision after another then went right to “I have anxiety and depression”. Well guess what honey most of us battle with that daily.
Lol. John would never have said that 😂. He just say what Dave said in a nicer way.
I’ve listened to Dr. John for three years - he routinely affirms female callers and makes them out to be victims. He does not talk anything like Dave.
@@Chalk89why do you guys love to write lies?? Like why? It’s the same you guys always said Dave sides with women. Both men treat whatever story they hear how they hear it! It’s not two sides calling in. They work with what they have. Delony has told men same shit he tells women
@@Chalk89 Women by nature need affirmation and the majority of his patients are females, so you got to know how to talk to them. Can’t blame the guy.
Exactly. Captain Simp to the rescue!
Not trying to sound proud, but in a financial sense I'm glad I'm not married nor divorced
Me too, honestly. And God willing I get married it won’t be to a financial idiot.
Keeps on making dumb decisions.. this lady doesn’t learn! 😆🤔
and why doesn’t Dave appear to hold her accountable?
@@gmrrnracr He never does, he is a White Knight, he has not felt the sting of a Judge telling him to cut a check for 50% of his worth.
Sure doesn't, omg go into debt for a truck when u didn't have to. With a BOYFRIEND
Bad advise to tell her to rush and get married. She’s only 2 years out of a divorce and dealing with a lot with a child and work. She might not be able to make good judgements right now
She is not making them now! And she will not in 18 months or more.
CAPT Sav-a-304 jumps in to tell her that marriage is going to make things better... LOL. That's the stupidest advice ever. The 'crazy' ex is probably completely sane and fighting for his rights.
Granted I've only heard 1 side of the story....but I'm pretty sure SHE is the crazy ex and her ex-hubby was lucky to get away from her, and is likely fighting for custody because he knows how irresponsible and psycho she is.
Bingo, she is Chaos
Yep, she's a walking catastrophe.
The new fiancé sounds like a bum. How do you let your new fiancé co-sign for a truck knowing what she’s going through? You should have your own stuff.
Why even make a decision to pursue a relationship, when she's in a crazy custody battle. Why?
Some people never learn. Idk how you go further into debt while not haviing money to afford an attorney while making 100k a year. This kind of financial situation requires years of poor decisions.
Never 👎 do a loan with a finance
5:00
Why is Dave telling her to get married as soon as possible? She has an active custody battle with her ex (she doesn't need to complicate it with a remarry legal spouse) and a bunch of outstanding debt. Let her catch her breath and the court issue settle first (closure as Dave put it) before sending her into another marriage. But the $50k truck really has to go.😂
Agreed, her finance could be a narcissist with anger issues or an alcoholic but Dave is telling a mentally unstable woman to plie on another marriage to chaos just shows how Dave is so unqualified to give counsel.
They essentially joined finances by co-signing. I think the point was to not act married financially if you aren't married legally.
It’s more “paint or get off the ladder”. She has too many un-made decisions (closed loops). Having a long engagement is one of them. I agree with the sentiment of sell the truck and keep the husband or sell the truck and dump the fiance by the weekend.
@@eurekahope5310 The truck? Thought that would be taken care of by was selling it. Can't sell the kid but a second marriage may complicate the custody issue and her life.
Dang, she’s already working on her next divorce 😬
they have some serious patience. i would have hung up when she explained the truck with the fiance
So she has had poor taste in men in the past, and the next catch isn't sounding much better. The adoption agency really didn't vet very well either.
She's a nurse making $100k. I'd be willing to bet her ex makes great money in a respectable field as well. That combined with a married couple probably made them look great to an adoption agency. It's unfortunately really hard to see how terrible a marriage might be behind the scenes. Even on a home visit, a couple can put on a great act for you.
Agree, until you are married this is his truck and it needs to be sold or at least you removed from the loan/title.
What a mess. Heck of a way to go through life.
She's the one causing all of this drama trying to gain sympathy. How many red flags are there in this video with her? Scary that she's treating people as a nurse with these mental issues.
yep... a lot of them have that mental trait before the job, then it is cultured and nurtured in school, odd work hours and overburdened on the job, high pay at a fairly young age, and then their work culture normalizes and "celebrates" irrational behavior... then you couple that with access to drugs, co workers that share the same traits and social isolation due to odd hours and moving/transfers to other cities and yeah they're easy prey for predators... the loser in this example is the child that she adopted... sure she "loves" the child but what was her motivation to adopt the child and how well-thought out was her adoption plan?... i imagine she believed it was a "good way" (manipulation) to "keep" (control) her husband in check... same motivation with the purchase of the truck for the boyfriend... (a country song by danny boone/ rehab called "Bartender Song (Sittin’ At A Bar) " comes to mind... money and assets develop from strong and true plans and real relationships validated by mutual and natural goals ... success doesn't come from personal fantasy and the warped use of other persons...
There are alot of people who work in healthcare who are really good at their jobs but really bad on thier life outside work
Y’all need to be smarter, a job is a job, every one goes to work with one issue or another. It’s called been an adult! Engineers, lawyers, plumber work with mental and health issues because you need to eat!
@@shachede6828 It's different when the person treating you for medical purposes has mental problems herself. She needs to get some help to work through it so that she can do her job effectively.
@@unfairsanic5089 That may be true, but if it's a life or death medical problem in the hospital, I would not want the caller treating me. Would you?
CRAZY is putting it mildly. What is with “men having a truck”. And probably only one tool in his tool box. No BRAINS!! Him and her.
For a nurse....she's not too smart
Dave,,, what makes you think !!! Getting marriage is going to solve problems
It seems she gets into bad relationships,,, she needs a therapist,,,,she should be calling Dr Phil McGraw,,,,,Not Dr Dave,,,,Dave should stick to real estate,,,,,
Just who is the crazy ex??? I'm thinking there is enough crazy to go around.
This is ridiculous
Gosh! Dave is hilariously honest,,,,,
Red flags all over this. The adoption screenings are extensive and she now saying she has a crazy abusive ex a year after the adoption.
Next she has a great income but has no idea how much their spending, it’s just out the door as quick as it comes in 😅.
She said that the child was special needs. As cruel as it seems, the screenings may not have been as extensive. Also, there may have been an unreality about caring for the son. When a child is special, adults do not always agree about what is best. 😕
I love the correction as she realized whos shes speaking to 😅😂😂😂 “I made a hundred rack… Hundred thousand” lmaooooo
I think she was trying to say grand 🤣
Anxiety and depression, yet she's taking care of patients? WTF?
I hope she can calculate infusion rates correctly as a nurse because 25+9+20+48 is 102, not 90!
I need an uncle like Dave to tell me as it is.
Already engaged? I guess we see why the first one didn’t work out.
One bad decision after another. Failed marriage, adopted kid, new boyfriend, depression issues, why do people make their lives so complicated?
They want the perfect Instagram life where everything are there ho
Husband, baby, pochy clothes. SUddenly the perfect life is just a normal everyday life When the first conflict about money strike. Then there is so much to clean up. She needed some support and fond a fiance who understand her and the complex life comes when the father want custody of the child.
People can be so nasty. She ADOPTED a child, and yes now she is a single mom. Thank goodness for someone who decided they wanted to help a child atleast.
Her and her ex adopted a child. She didn’t say who has custody of the child currently.
I feel bad for her ex.
I feel sorry for this mom & the adopted child bc this child might have problems getting adopted into what he/she thought was a stable permanent home. Prayers for this child & this caller's finances🙏🙏
I like how the male ex is crazy automatically.
Dave is such a simp...
Seriously. The "crazy ex" probably doesn't want his kid in the same house with the new boyfriend.
I can bet you he’s not. I can almost bet she had this new guy in the picture while she was married. And it’s probably why their marriage ended
With all of this going on, the last thing that this woman needs is to get married again but Dave won't tell her that.
...blinded by superstition...
Wow, I completely loved this advice. She needs to get out from under all the pressure....
Selling the truck solves 2% of her problem and deflects from the 98% of the problem that SHE CREATED that has nothing to do with her fiancés truck!
I'm a nurse who was married with a LAZY nurse. I got rid of him within 3 years. This nurse is making the same mistakes over and over
Maybe it’s just me, but while you’re dealing with a messy custody battle and a failed relationship you meet someone else, get into a relationship AND get engaged AND you buy stuff together. Like, wild!!!!
This guy is not going to marry this lady. And I feel he will not sign off on selling this truck.
As crazy as her story sounds, I'd be willing to bet the "crazy ex" isn't the crazy one
No matter how much money some people make it is never enough. I have family members who burn through money with reckless spending AND waste.
I do agree the more things that need closure the more crazy things are we need to have any dates and we need for closure
3:33 Just watch Dave's face.
Hilarious.
The only reason the guy is living with her is because she bought him a $50k truck
Rachel's body language: from hands in lap (00:23) to a self hug (05:31)
I understand. This is awful -
She sounds like a real catch, I’d run for the hills…
Why do people buy cars that are 40k or more all the time??? Especially when they aren’t really even doing too good financially. My husband and I have had our same two 10k cars since we were like 19 and 20 (now 23) and they’re still running just fine.
If I owe $2k on CC, I get very nervous. How do these people live with so much CC debt?
I wonder what happened to the first marriage.........
Lol
That's crazy😅
If her fiancé decides to stop making the payments, she will have to or HER credit will be trashed.
If bad decisions was a person. Get it together Lady.
I can’t believe how much people are willing to pay for cars….
Such dead money.
These days a 6-8 yr old vehicle is SO much less, and not much different.
‘Top of the line’ models in good nick are still great to drive 6 yrs later.
It’s a weird Ego thing that carmakers LOVE.

Perhaps good advice might be to stop battling for custody. Agree to joint custody and move on? Unless the ex is abusive or has a drug problem.
No marriage = no problems like that
