- Scenic drone clips and cinematic clips of Isla Mujeres in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. We took the boat fom Playa Tortugas and to Isla Mujeres. It would take about 20 minutes and we started out the trip at the most famous beach called playa norte. We rented a golf cart and drove one lap around the whole island.

Enjoyed your video; I went to Isla Mujeres as a 16 yr old in 1973... they called it 'Isla de Mujeres (Isle of Women, supposedly named for the fact that French and German Airline Stewardesses vacationed there- and sure enough, they were about the only tourists there at that time) back then; it was a little known, undiscovered, tiny fishing village back then. It was the best vacation of my life! The locals (and us, while we were there) ate Sea Turtles in place of beef (they were not endangered back then)! My how things have changed! There used to be a small Mayan 'lookout tower' back then on the north side that was several hundred years old. I assume it's not there anymore; what a shame. I am planning on going back there one day, so it's on my bucket list.
Love isla mujeres. Been going there since 1987. Definitely one of my favorite places on earth. 🏝🇲🇽❤
I have been there many times but not on the last 12 yrs. Looks busy now. I do plan to do a mother / daughter trip next March. Could go anywhere in the world but I chose Isla to take my daughter because I have so many fun memories
Went there a couple of times in the 80's. So much has changed, very developed now. Thanks for this, brought back happy memories.

Great Video! My wife and I took a trip to Cancun in 1988 and took a small ferry across to Isla Mujeres. Cost 50 cents as I recall. Island was a very quiet fishing village except for when the Cruise ship docked and then it was buzzing with street vendors and tourists. The island looks far more developed, the only high rise I remember was a hotel on the north east edge of the island. They had a shark pen in the rocks there, fascinating. We had a room in Cancun but loved the island so much we stayed there instead. There was a bar there at the north beach called 'bujo's on the beach' where we got beers and shrimp cocktails. Very Good Memories. I've wondered how the island fared after the many Hurricanes which have come through since.
My hubby and I went there on an excursion in 2019 and it was one of the most amazing places I have been to in my life! The color of the water, just how easy it is to get around with a golf cart, I would have liked to have stayed there longer! I hope I can visit there again someday!!

Isla Mujeres is a stunning place. I've been there several times over the last eight years and look forward to going back. I have never seen those beaches that empty!! I like that you snorkelled at Puente Sur. I'll have to take that in next time. The Isla is changing so quickly, soon it will be too busy to be able to enjoy.

That was amazing video. We were the people in the red kayaks that were there snorkeling in that area the starfish were incredible. We go there every year, it is our favorite place to go.

Yay! You visited again! A really beautiful spot and so much to see and do. It’s a great place to go if you’re traveling on a budget. There are of course hostels, but numerous simple hotels with rooms for $75us/night. Mike’s pizza is great, but like you, I don’t crave seafood. Looks like you had Playa Norte to yourselves!

A True Masterpiece!
The beaches are beautiful - the pizza looked excellent - and it looks like it was an amazing excursion. We stayed there once at Villa Vera Puerto Isla Mujeres - beautiful yachts were parked there and the resort had a round pool.

My first trip to isla mujeres was in 1986 most of the island was a navel base then. The diving was magnificent. Dove on the sleeping shark caves witch are closed these days to tourists. It's changed sooooo much over the year's some for the good some not so good. Its a beautiful place definitely worth the effort to go there. Cozumel is also a great place to visit while you're there 🇲🇽❤👍 don't forget isla Holbox!!!

So interesting and different. We went there in 1987, and took a 50 cent boat ride from Cancun. We stayed at a hotel that we thought was deluxe but had been hit by a hurricane, so it was a bit strange! The windows were all gone and bugs flew in at night :) It was called El Presidente, and it was destroyed a few years later by another hurricane. Thank you for the video, Isla Mujeres seems to still be almost as beautiful and serene as it was then. The sand in the Yucatan is limestone, so it never gets too hot to walk on. We had a wonderful time, maybe I will return.
Maria is just beautiful! You seem happy and relaxed with her thank you for telling the prices of the golf cart and other things ! I plan to rent one this November , what a lovely day! Even if it was not sunny!
