Great Idea !! Thanks !!! 2 things ... use oil for drilling metal and DO NOT USE GLOVES WHEN DRILLING !!! I know a guy that lost 3 fingers when the drill caught his glove. It " seems " like a safe idea but it is NOT. Take care and work safe PLEASE !!
Slow RPMs while drilling through metal and add some lubrication. It'll cut better and save your bits from wearing out as fast. Love the idea! Definitely gave me lots of inspiration.
Maybe he has loads of disposable income and or Diamond tip drill bits. Many possibilities I guess we could ask him? Hey man what he said and my question? Inquiring minds want to know..
Clever but a set of pipe clamps would cost less than a good C clamp and you can mount them on wood if you want. I hate ruining or sacrificing one tool to make another, especially for little or no gain.

Great work. There are a lot of bar clamp project out there but yours in the only one that can be constructed with minimal tooling and experience.
I think there was a similar one useing a piece of angel iron or is the one 🤔

Cheapest C-clamp (100mm) i found = 2,90€. Cheapest pipe clamp I found = 19,00€. Looks like there's a gain.
Try some oil on the clamp when drilling
Wy are you using grinding blades for your meadle cuting when they make reger cuting blades and wount heat up your tools so fast
