I discovered the band two weeks ago. The more I'm finding the more I'm starting to realize that music will never be the same again for me. That it isn't only about sounding good. It's about the feelings it brings out in you. And the more I'm learning the more I'm crying.

I told my mum about how Ryan wrote this song for Brendon and about how Brendon couldn't continue to perform this song during one of the V&V concerts because he was crying. Then after i was done telling her all about it, i looked at her while we were driving and she was crying... MY MUM WAS CRYING!!! which made me ask her "Mum why are you crying?" and she said "Because they use to be like best friends, now they aren't anymore! I'm 27 too :) I never could see the old Panic! on stage when I was younger because they didn’t perform in France, and that makes me very sad. Because I still love them (and I finally saw them for the first time last summer), but... it's just not the same band. I really miss THIS Panic! :(

For years I have said Pretty Odd is my favorite album of all time. It still is. It is so beautiful and brilliantly crafted and I think it is timeless. It gets better upon every time I listen to it. This album contains my favorite lyrics Ryan has written. This lineup in Panic's history is so good and while I do listen to this album a lot, I don't always revisit the music videos as often as I should because they are so great and bring me such joy, but this one is extra special. Northern Downpour is such a beautiful, mesmerizing, and somewhat wistful song that reminds me that the world is not perfect but to keep on going. I find it to be a song of being present, mindful and appreciating life and what you have. (I know the world's a broken bone, but melt your headaches call it home). That's how I've felt about anyway. I wish Pretty Odd got more attention, love, and appreciation because it has been able to withstand the test of time so far (for me anyway) and I just know 50 years from now I'll still singing along....Hey moon, don't you go down...
I'm glad I've found someone with as much love as I have for Pretty. Odd. So many times I've tried to find more music that could bring me even a little bit of what PO did, and so many times I've been "disappointed". At the same time, this album is so unique and clear in its aesthetic and sound that I'm glad that there's nothing else like it out there. Makes it even more special to me.

I discovered the band two weeks ago. The more I'm finding the more I'm starting to realize that music will never be the same again for me. That it isn't only about sounding good. It's about the feelings it brings out in you. And the more I'm learning the more I'm crying.

Then after i was done telling her all about it, i looked at her while we were driving and she was crying... MY MUM WAS CRYING!!! which made me ask her "Mum why are you crying?" and she said "Because they use to be like best friends, now they aren't anymore! And it's so sad how something like a beautiful song can bring back so many memories and can make you just break down crying" ..... we both ended up crying for a good hour or so. :(

For years I have said Pretty Odd is my favorite album of all time. It still is. It is so beautiful and brilliantly crafted and I think it is timeless. It gets better upon every time I listen to it. This album contains my favorite lyrics Ryan has written. This lineup in Panic's history is so good and while I do listen to this album a lot, I don't always revisit the music videos as often as I should because they are so great and bring me such joy, but this one is extra special. Northern Downpour is such a beautiful, mesmerizing, and somewhat wistful song that reminds me that the world is not perfect but to keep on going. I find it to be a song of being present, mindful and appreciating life and what you have. (I know the world's a broken bone, but melt your headaches call it home). That's how I've felt about anyway. I wish Pretty Odd got more attention, love, and appreciation because it has been able to withstand the test of time so far (for me anyway) and I just know 50 years from now I'll still singing along....Hey moon, don't you go down...
I'm glad I've found someone with as much love as I have for Pretty. Odd. So many times I've tried to find more music that could bring me even a little bit of what PO did, and so many times I've been "disappointed". At the same time, this album is so unique and clear in its aesthetic and sound that I'm glad that there's nothing else like it out there. Makes it even more special to me.
