  • Sorry guy's this is the last in this short series, not long now to our next trip out.
Stephenson Railway Museum can be found in Newcastle Upon Tyne near the Tyne tunnel.
I think the sun was putting the visitors off as they must have all gone to the beach.

A very smart looking operation there, didn't even know about it. The museum looks really professional and interesting for all ages.

This is one of the reasons I upload my travels to UA-cam,it shows just what is out there. The times we have been told "I only live around the corner from that railway and didn't know it was there".We were shocked by the length of the ride.

Hang on a bit Chris....aren't the tracks too far apart to be included in your 'miniature' railway series? In fact I'm certain that the locos and carriages are standard gauge! Joking apart...thanks for this latest video. You were fortunate to find it in operation...I visited twice (in the week) several years ago , while I was working in the area , enjoyed the museum but didn't get a ride. I must be unlucky because I visited the Listowell & Ballybunion Lartigue replica monorail twice in a month (while working in the the Irish Republic) only to find it closed. Yet a friend (on his first visit) not only found it open but had a cab ride on the 1km replica line. Such is life eh? Many thanks to you both for your series...much enjoyed here! Rob.

We are covering all gauges,it all started off with standard and narrow gauge then miniature,we then put the March Hare hat on and included all Model Engineering Societies, this has made it very hard work but we are getting their.
The museum runs the railway at weekends and Bank holidays.Shame you didn't get to ride the L & B in Ireland,we have not got that far YET but never say never...........Regards Chris.

A wonderful museum Chris, and odd to be hauled by an 08 at a centre dedicated to Stephenson, but such haulage is rare anyway...Regards...Bob
