Aprilia Tuareg Commute Review

  • The Aprilia Tuareg just got in our hands and we are using it as everyday bike. We wanted to check, if the latest addition in the Italian manufacturer line-up, has what it takes to help you filter the traffic. On the way to work we made a detour and ended up riding in Enduro mode. The result, a huge smile on our face.

    turn up rebound and soften up the comp a little. one can see the bouncing a bit too much.
    Given how cold it is, the oil is thick - but it when it gets warmer outside, the suspension will soften up anyhow.
    We like the new italian too. just really - really hope the engine can take it now.

    It looks kinda interesting, and I am actually in the market for something like this (currently looking at the AT or T7), however there is one big problem. That is Aprilia reliability. If I am looking for an enduro type bike, or an every day bike, I would want it to be reliable. Something that you just take to muck about in the mud on weekends doesn't need to be, but this should be.

    • @RacingandAdventure
      @RacingandAdventure  2 роки тому +2

      It is very interesting and i would put it at the same level with africa twin when it comes to off-road. Any of the bike that you’ve mentioned are very good for the job. Maybe Aprilia will consider longer warranty so people will get closer to the Brand.

    • @tHaH4x0r
      @tHaH4x0r 2 роки тому +3

      @@RacingandAdventure Interesting that you put it at the same level as the AT, as it is generally quite a heavy motorcycle, and the T7 is seen as better for offroad than the AT right?
      It would definitely be a good move for Aprilia to provide extended warranty, but still, I don't consider good warranty a replacement for reliability. If I would take my bike traveling and break down in the middle of the desert in Iran, no aprilia warranty is going to help me get out of the situation.
      There's not much factual data out there, but recalling the consumerreports reliability comparison from 2015 investigated whether motorcycles had experienced repairs or serious problems by the fourth year of ownership. It found a figure of 11-15% for the 'big four' japanese manufacturers, Ducati around 33% and BMW a whopping 40%. It did not score Aprilia/KTM, but both are likely to be around the duc/bmw range.

    • @Softbaerchi

      I understand your thoughts. In terms of reliability get a T7. Here are some little experiences from me and my friends
      Friend A:
      Yamaha XT660R with 80.000km not a single problem
      Yamaha XT660X with 45.000km not a single problem
      Friend B:
      Yamaha T7 with almost 40.000km not a single problem (Yes he rides a lot :D)
      Friend C:
      Yamaha XT660R with 50.000km not a single problem
      Friend D:
      Yamaha XT660R with 40.000km not a single problem
      Friend E:
      Yamaha XT660R 105.000km not a single problem
      Yamaha T7 with about 5.000km not a single problem
      ME:
      Yamaha XT660R with 60.000km (rode 58.000km of it) not a single problem
      Yamaha T7 with 29.000km (bought it new 1,5 years ago) not a single problem so far.
      We ride alot together. We ride on and offroad. And two of us (me and Friend E) ride also in the winter.
      So from my experience Yamahas just work :D

    • @Softbaerchi

      @Alexander Buech Nono dont get me wrong. I mean i like Yamaha obviously, cause it works. I also have a Yamaha Guitar and a Yamaha amplifier and my GF a Yamaha Piano... but i also like other brands. Before Yamaha i drove Suzuki and KTM. And it also worked perfectly. If i only would drive on the street i would definitely buy a BMW 1000XR. Perfection and pure sex combined :D.
      But as i said Yamaha just works fine. And especially for the T7 you get the most for your money. (Dont know if i can say this like that in englisch but i guess you know what i mean)

In fact numerous studies have shown that if done correctly it is far safer for the motorcyclist because it reduces the chances for being hit from behind. Also what is it arrogant and rude to remove one extra cage from traffic? How is it rude if I make the traffic less congested for everyone? I've had commutes that took 12min by motorcycle while lanespliting vs 40+ min by car doing the same while stuck in bumper to bumper congestion. How is it rude of or arrogant to not participate in traffic while consuming less gas and contributing with less pollution?
