  • Another Welsh Dee salmon to my Orvis Clearwater 11ft 7# switch rod. This on was the 5th salmon of the 2017 season caught on a size 10 D Stoats Tail from the glide above Horseshoe Fall at Llangollen.

    Was that the L&M stretch above Horseshoe falls? I’ve just rejoined and normally head straight to Duncan’s.

      Yes, it is. Duncan's is a good pool to fish but you should also try: Dee Farm, Pipe Pool, Broken Bridge, and the pools on the golf course for salmon.

    Hi bud was hoping to get to the dee sometimes mid September any advice and much chance of a fresh fish?

      Hi Jim, September is usually a good month on the Welsh Dee if there is some decent water. That time of the year about half the fish caught are fresh. I have a fishing blog and I post regular updates on how the Welsh Dee is fishing. So if you subscribe to it you will get my new posts emailed to you.
