With a Full Heart, Monica Abbott Retires from the Circle

Now the most decorated American softball pitcher in history has announced that she will walk outside the white lines and retire from playing the game that has given her so much.
“My heart is so full after 16 years as a professional and 20 years with team USA,” said the 37-year-old native of Salinas who holds every meaningful record in the sport as an amateur, a pro and an Olympian. “I got to play for you, the fans and entertain you. I tried to play each game with joy and love and competitive fire. Today I announce my retirement from competition.”

Hello Monica Abbott this is the legendary Mike Riggs from the lakewood 51's men's softball team and anyways when i found out that you are officially retiring from softball i had tears rolling down my cheeks and on behalf of my best friend Kevin John Boyer we will always remember you as our favorite softball pitcher and player and we will always miss you playing softball with team 🇺🇸

Noooo!!! I’m a 52 year old mens fast pitch pitcher…still doing it. Which means you can’t quit at 37yrs old…you’ve got another 15 yrs in ya!!!
