Thanks, it's very interesting. What about spectrum sharing of 4G and 5G in LTE TDD bands? Is there any reference document on this topic? What will be the potential challenges?
Yes. Possible. Limitations are that you can only use numerology zero of 5G for data, few resources are wasted, close coordination between 4G and 5G etc
One thing I've noticed, at least on my carrier (Rogers) is that DSS is only used with Time Division Multiplexing 4G and your examples also referred to TDD. 5G appears to only use TDD. Rogers also has LTE on unlicensed spectrum. Is there any reason why you kept referring to band n41? I can understand using it once, as an example, but doesn't DSS work exactly the same way on any band, allowing that some bands may be bandwidth limited? You also mentioned Nokia has dual mode 4G/5G equipment, in addition to supporting individual radios for each. What about Ericsson? Rogers uses Ericsson gear. On the Verizon chart, you show them using band 1 for 4G, but n2 for 5G. I'm not sure band 1 was normally used in North America.. Rogers is also using n78 (C band) but I'm not aware of any mmWave use in Canada. I'm curious about Rogers, as they're the one I'm on, but also because they've taken over providing cell coverage in the Toronto subway system. They took over the Canadian operations of BAI, which previously had only Freedom Mobile using their network. Freedom uses Nokia equipment. I'm not sure what BAI used. I don't know if Rogers will be providing 4G service on the subway, as they're advertising 5G, but dual mode radios would make 4G available too, for all those who don't have 5G capable phones.
It was an informative session . Sir, a small request, along with theoretical stuff parallelly if possible go for basic log analysis ( a. UE point of view b. NW point of view & other debug prints if any wrt processing tools) it would be damn useful for any candidate .//Thanks
Very well explained Sir. Thank you very much for explaining the concept clearly in simple manner I have below questions 1. Won't MBSFN subframe be used for LTE traffic transmission? or MBSFN is used for only Non-LTE traffic transmission? 2.When we avoid transmission of few SSB candidates(blocks) which are overlapping with 4G CSRS and if power of remaining SSB beams received at UE is very low then How do the UE does synchronization?
Hello Sir..I have 2 questions. 1. Why LTE PDCCH is needed in MBSFN subframes since we are not carrying any LTE PDSCH. 2. Can I use the same PRB for carrying both LTE PDSCH and NR PDSCH?
Sir ,Will there be any improvement in terms of Speed if 5G NW is using 4G spectrum? Or its just an data icon change. It looks like with Dss, networks claims their nw is 5G but speeds are only 4G speeds. Kindly explain..
Spectral efficiency of 5G New Radio is three times better than 4G radio. But you loose many resources while using DSS. So net effect may look 5G speeds , similar to 4G speed
Sir I have a question with DSS NR700 we are getting 90% footprint of Lte and only 10% of NR cell during drive test. Is it ok or is there solution to increase NR footprint
The very best explanation of DSS ... Detailed and very clear. Just a small request sir , please do not add background music .
Thanks for feedback
It is explained very simple manner to understand DSS to get a complete overview, Thank you
Thanks Shyam
Very well explained Sir. kindly please do more videos of detailed features of 5G.
Really very good. You have explained in simplefied language and images are also very good
Thanks a lot 😊

Thanks
Hello Sir, can you please eloborate on 7.5khz shift concept in general. Is it used in only UL?
Very well explained Sir. Thank you very much for explaining the concept clearly in simple manner
I have below questions
1. Won't MBSFN subframe be used for LTE traffic transmission? or MBSFN is used for only Non-LTE traffic transmission?

1. No user plane LTE traffic on MBSFN
2. Yes, that may be an issue.
I have explained these for understanding the concept and various challanges.

LTE devices are looking for it in all subframes. Hence required to continue having them in case of DSS also. DSS has to transparent for LTE devices.

What is the current status. Pl share
Awesome..
Thanks Avinash
Nice
Thanks Santosh
The background music must go.
Sure. Will re-upload the video without ......
Please lose the music. During a technical presentation, music is an annoyance.
