Great video. Is the dust cap supposed to spin with the bars? Mine does that, wondering if the shop didn’t put the o-ring in there.

Nice video. I’m installing one now on my KTM and have encountered a perplexing problem. When reinstalling the top triple clamp, I cannot get them anywhere near their original position. After installation of the bracket and new (smaller) shroud, their is no space left. Any idea what I may have done wrong?

Maybe myself or others on here may be able to direct you in the correct direction. If you drop the forks all the way out, you can work just with the clamps. make sure the bottom clamp and post is seated all the way in the frame. Otherwise, I'm not sure what your issue is without more info or pics. So your not able to get the top bolt or pinch bolt tightened?

Outdoor Action , I got it figured out. The stem dropped about an inch through the frame. I had the bike on a stand and didn’t notice. Thank you.

Why the strap and box, I dont recall you loosening the lower pinch bolts, the lower pinch bolts hold the fork tubes and tire in place with no issue!

With the top clamp removed, there is nothing holding the assembly from sliding down out of the head tube.

Is it the same with the ktm 200 xc-w 2012???

+julian wilson The steps should essentially be the same for any bike with the same sub-mount set up. Your dust cap or torque specs might be different, but otherwise the same. Slaven's Racing has a good set up for single track riders on the settings. I took his to start with and then worked my way from there for what I thought was working best for me

That's how I did it a few weeks ago when I got a new bike. Live and learn.

You dont even have to do that if the lower pinch bolts never get loosened then the forks and tire will stay right where they were when you started!

these things are like 600 dollars and they make u buy a little shit plastic cable guide, thats fucking silly it should just come with it, what a joke.

I agree. Worst part is, I didn't have it at first and did have the cable catch once.

ya thats so pathetic, their all way to over priced for what u get, shouldnt have to buy anything else for it to work correctly at that price, like how much does that little shit cable guide cost them to make , 25 cents in plastic, and they prob charge like 30 bucks for it, cause they know ur going to want it when u buy the damper.

I think it was like 15-20 bucks. I was lucky and bought my damper from a guy who said it wasn't for his style of riding.........single track............hmmmmmm. Anyway nice guy. Maybe he just needed the money.
