I follow all the guidelines you listed. Before I did, I had a lot of wonky 4 patches. Now I really try to achieve no sewing larger than needed in the first place.

Dear Deb, thank you very much for your tips. I am a new quilter about to start a project with jelly rolls and I was so afraid of sewing wavy strip sets.

Good tips! If your iron doesn’t require distilled water, do you have a preference? We have well water that is softened & conditioned but it still can have minerals. Nothing worse than my iron accumulating minerals!
I still prefer to use distilled (or at the very least filtered) water for all my ironing 💜
What is the ironing surface made of?
That is exactly what I am wondering too.

When you say use smaller length of strips, do you mean cut strips in half, or does that depend on your pattern?

Yep, I find that I have an easier time when I cut my full width of fabric strips in half.

Where do you get the spray nozzle for the red and white container of starch
It came with the container when I purchased it.
I have a friend that rarely press her fabric and cuts her fabric with wrinkles make me crazy. I had to give her a pressing lesson. still have to remind her. but she had a stroke so maybe that's why.
Deb, love your tutorials, however!!!!! could you learn to speak a tad slower? I have trouble keeping up with you!
(I've heard that we in the South talk a little bit slower. I don't hear any faster than I talk! Lol)

UA-cam does have the option to change your playback speed in settings. Some voices do not do well slower than ‘normal’ but this video sounded fine at .75x. At .5 there was the echo chamber effect, though. I lived in the upper midwest for 32yrs then moved to Texas. My speaking speed has definitely slowed over the past 20yrs though I am still asked to slow down from time to time!
I‘m German, sometimes it’s very hard for me to understand you. Your ideas are georgeous.
