I have several Steeldive watches and am very happy with all of them. No issues. Seeing your problem with the clasp was a bummer, worse yet, hollow end links and problems with the bezel. Which, after seeing this video, seems like an easy fix. The worst part is, I have this in my cart, just haven't pulled the trigger yet. I'm sure I'll still purchase it. Just thinking of maybe installing an engineers bracelet. I guess my options are endless. Great review.
My islander has the same issues minus the bracelet, bezel was so stiff I had to use a rubber mat to turn it, and the case below the crown is super sharp. Easy fixes and no complaints from me, but I like to tinker, not for everyone. Good review man!
Hi Dan, you are doing some great videos, congrats. Just one question about this watch, on the different sites where we can find this model, they all come with a 'simple' lume pip bezel. I would like to know where to get the fully lumed bezel as shown in this video? Many thanks in advance for your reply. Regards. JM
Great question, I asked to see the watch pictured on the website, and the one I got sent doesn't have the lume pip. The mystery deepens..... I will find out. In the meantime, you can also email steeldiveuk expressing your interest in this watch and see what they say.
Very nice tip for the oiling! I have a Tandorio blue skx, which has very stiff bezel, so I'll try it with silicone spray oil as you write. Are there any side effects after weeks of use, for ex. like cloging easily with dirt and becoming stiff again? Edit: I cleaned with alcohol first and on one watch it resolved the bezel issue. On another Tandorio - was still stiff. So I used PTFE dry lubricating spray, applied 2 times and it's much better now, not too stiff, not too loose. PTFE spray doesn't attract dirt, I had it in my drawer.
something about the hands dial and indices on an skx or a homage like this that are just perfect for me ....i think its my favourite watch face of all time and i cant really pinpoint why ,nitpicking i would love to see this with the 36 movement to get day and date but other than that what a watch
The oil trick will do... Unless you actually live next to the beach and swim often 😂 You should try the sub copy by San Martin. Aside from the bracelet, I'm very impressed with the quality.
I recently bought the SD1994, which is a GMT version with a more Seiko accurate better quality bracelet and sunburst dial. The only fault with it is the lume on the dial is much smaller than the indices themselves, which really bugs me and stops the watch from being almost perfect.
Just another good review. I do enjoy your content. I have the very same Steeldive. Great watches with awful straps. All in all fantastic purchase. Highly recommended.
I bought this watch a week ago from the website, with the £5 discount. So last night the bracelet decided to fuck up, the watch dropped on the concrete floor face down, chipped the “sapphire” glass, its proper visible and you can feel it with your nail.. You could say i didnt push the pins back enough when I adjusted the bracelet, but I had the watch on my wrist the whole week and it was fine... So yeah, I am a bit disappointed...can drop it in the trash now.
I’m not saying I’m poor but my Grail watch is a Steel Dive!👍
No shame in that. Imo, my Steeldive Sumo is better than my Seiko Sumo.
As SteelDive is becoming more popular, some Chinese may already be thinking of a Steeldive homage 😉.
😂...probably true man! We’ll be seeing homage homages soon.
Starking has an Invicta Pro Diver homage so who knows ;)
@@MrOstefar 😅
You called it. Addiesdive!
If it's all aligned, then it's not a true homage.

Looking forward to the comparison video.
Nice tip with the watch oil.
I'm so happy it works, really solved the problem.
Case 41mm
Lug to Lug 45.8

I have a blue one on order. So impressed with my 1979 Steeldive I wanted to try another.
Such good watches for the money! Nice choice
Can never go wrong for £100 for an NH35, sapphire, 316L case, and good water resistance
Those Islanders are brilliant. You're going to love it. The price is commensurate but it's still a steal, even with the import duty.
Im so excited to see it, should be here in the UK soon. Im so grateful to them for sending it over!

Hi - just a quick thank you for the promo code. I bought the SD1953 and am delighted with it. Just the job. Thanks
I'm glad you are happy, enjoy!
Good alternative to the skx as the prices have now gone crazy.
Great review 👍
Thanks Derek

I would really want it to have a day window though.

Excellent video... It seems to be a good watch. How about the Accuracy?

007s are getting harder and harder to find. The Steeldive looks good to me. A decent bracelet doesn’t cost very much.
Poor them real divers out there struggling to get a seiko with no hack and misaligned markers 😂
I’m really enjoying ur videos keep up the good work 👍
Thanks, will do!
Can anyone recommend a good quality & fitting bracelet please?
I love the watch but dislike the steeldive bracelet

or buy a new SKX crystal which should fit
Yeah, sapphire isn't indestructible don,it breaks on impact,it's simply highly scratch resistant, try being more careful next time 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Please review the steeldive 1976 Puck halios homage, there are no reviews on UA-cam yet
Hi mate , have you got a link to this strap please? I really like it especially on this watch , you have matched it very well ✌️👍✌️
Hi, its a sailcloth from watchgecko. Thanks for watching 👀
@@watchmewithwatches thanks for all the vids , have a great weekend buddy 👍
@@buxz777 you too! Thank you. 😊
Hi. Where can I get this oil applicator please ?
i too get the wife to fiddle with my bezel once it shows some stiffness.
lol
Creation ahhh! Ahhh! Let the cat out! Good for seiko 5s some models wont ship uk anymore.
Can i use WD40 ?
Silicone only, and not too much either! Just a light squirt.
Really wish the SD came in day date instead of just date.
The fact that it’s not ISO rated doesn’t mean it’s not a dive watch.
I imagine you got to the price eventually, but I gave up.
Sorry Sam. You could just go to steeldiveuk and check it out?
Homage is a terrible description , it's a pattern rip plane n simple .Nobody is paying homage to anything 👍😁😁
True 👍
Why not make a hommage of a hommage of a hommage? Hommageing a hommage of a homage made in china!
