I mean, Stronger than You got me into the show because it was so badass. I watched the show a little bit when it first came out, but wound up abandoning it in favor of other shows before the season 1 finale. Then, shortly before the Pink Diamond reveal, a video came up in my recommended: Garnet being savage for 10 minutes. Stronger Than You was part of that, and I was hooked. I wanted more of that. I managed to catch up just in time for Diamond Days. When I found that video, I'd forgotten that SU ever existed, but as I was watching it, started to remember watching it the first time, and I was part of the "some gems have 2 gems" camp xD
That one moment where Pearl asks herself and Steven if Rose can see her through Stevens eyes and he has the perfect answer. T.T If I ever need to cry I look that up.

It's always had an impact on me as someone with mental health issues struggling to navigate how it applies to my relationships, both romantic and platonic.
You should listen to “Other Friends”, “That Distant Shore”, “It’s Over Isn’t it?”, “Found”, and if you want to have a nice joyful break, then “Happily Ever After” (The song in the thumbnail). You might not understand it without the context, though

Steven Universe is incredibly deep and emotional. The entire show as well as the short sequel explores so many important topics and how to handle certain problems people face from love to trauma to anxiety.

I love how songs in this show fit to characters. If a character is out of this world, they have this spacey song. People like Steven and Greg have more human songs. Songs sang by gems in su have their own genre.
“Here comes a Thought” Is the strongest song for me. When I was younger, I would use that song to stop panic attacks. It was a reminder, it was just a thought, were not falling apart. Steven Universe helped me heal through life, and there is no doubt that Rebecca Sugar just by singing a few songs and saying a few lines is what saved my life. I will always tear up when I hear that song. Not out of sadness, but happy because I lived. ❤️
If you want a song with lots of a emotion from a character, listen to “It’s Over, Isn’t”. If you want a song with bonding, listen to “No Matter What”. You should also pull up a picture of Zach Callison. Just suggestions for part 2 if possible.

Stronger Than You is definitely a song more embedded in the context of what's happening than the others, since it centers around a type of relationship between two characters that just... doesn't really have a human equivalent. Trust me when I say, when that song dropped in the actual show, it was a freaking sucker-punch of emotional impact.
Honestly, Here comes a thought is such a beautiful song. As someone with high functioning autism, it's a song that hits different. Just, thinking about how many times I tried to comfort someone and it didn't go as planned, not being able to empathize with others "Something you said that failed to be charming". And the whole "loosing touch, loosing sight" of things, due to not knowing how to connect with people, and ending up just enjoying your little comfortable space where you are safe, but feeling so heavy for not being what everyone expects. The three reminders of "Asking yourself, finding yourself, reminding yourself" are so beautiful. And just, trusting that the people you love, love you back, "Flexibility, love and trust".

I love Steven Universe! It starts off a bit slow and light hearted, but as you get deeper into the series, it dives deep into themes surrounding emotional intelligence. It’s sooooo amazing, with plot, characters, and themes very well constructed. Strongly recommend!!
The good thing about SU, though, is that the journey is really more important than the twists. I loved some of the reveals during the series, but I had some of them spoiled for me and they really didn't detract from the show because how the story got to those points was more important.

The music of this show really really really means a lot to me, in so many levels. Last year a had a nervous breakdown down and "True Kinda Love" helped get through it. If you want a song with lots of a emotion from a character, listen to “It’s Over, Isn’t”. If you want a song with bonding, listen to “No Matter What”. You should also pull up a picture of Zach Callison. Just suggestions for part 2 if possible.
No Matter What always makes me tear up though. I have a little sister and we're very, very close like Amethyst and Steven. Just makes me wanna protect her.
I remember loving garnet and her songs the most ... my favorite was stronger than you for the longest of time and then I grew closer to pearl, maybe it’s over isn’t it is now my favorite but I can’t decide I just love this show so much and listening and reminiscing with these songs feels so special. I remember loving love like you ... I juts love Rebecas singing ❤️ one of my dreams is too meet her ... she gave me so much hope and built a great bit of my preteen and early teen years😭

Stronger Than You is definitely a song more embedded in the context of what's happening than the others, since it centers around a type of relationship between two characters that just... doesn't really have a human equivalent. Trust me when I say, when that song dropped in the actual show, it was a freaking sucker-punch of emotional impact.

Honestly, Here comes a thought is such a beautiful song. As someone with high functioning autism, it's a song that hits different. Just, thinking about how many times I tried to comfort someone and it didn't go as planned, not being able to empathize with others "Something you said that failed to be charming". And the whole "loosing touch, loosing sight" of things, due to not knowing how to connect with people, and ending up just enjoying your little comfortable space where you are safe, but feeling so heavy for not being what everyone expects.
The three reminders of "Asking yourself, finding yourself, reminding yourself" are so beautiful. And just, trusting that the people you love, love you back, "Flexibility, love and trust".
Couldn't agree more.

I love Steven Universe! It starts off a bit slow and light hearted, but as you get deeper into the series, it dives deep into themes surrounding emotional intelligence. It’s sooooo amazing, with plot, characters, and themes very well constructed. Strongly recommend!!

The movie is epic
The good thing about SU, though, is that the journey is really more important than the twists. I loved some of the reveals during the series, but I had some of them spoiled for me and they really didn't detract from the show because how the story got to those points was more important.

The music of this show really really really means a lot to me, in so many levels. Last year a had a nervous breakdown down and "True Kinda Love" helped get through it.
That's nice that you could relate to the messages despite not have watched the show. The songs are truly pop gems and Rebecca Sugar is God!
