- This is the Tabletop and range review of the RIA 5.0, where we go over the points of this pistol, and shoot it on the timer for speed, and some targets for accuracy.
The RIA 5.0 is a brand new pistol made entirely in the USA by RIA-USA, it uses an innovative RVS or "Ram valve system" however it is not a gas operated firearm, it is still a recoil operated firearm. Shown off at SHOT show 2023 it generated quite a lot of buzz online.
*15 yard accuracy testing sped up 2x to get through it quicker, all other shooting footage was not altered.

I hope my local range gets one to try, looks slick.
You only left out us Tanfoglio lovers. Nice demo.
This was one of my favorites I shot at Shot Show Range Day
Yeah, its a ton of fun and a handgun i try to grab often for the range.
Very impressive presentation 👍
Thank you for watching i appreciate it!
Happy to learn that the trigger is a bullseye trigger. Trigger pull for bullseye is all about not knowing when the shoot goes of. Just pull pull pull & suddenly the shoot goes off. That should be almost guaranteed with a trigger without wall. Perfect!
I regret I can only give one like here becaue that thing is pretty darn slick and a real flat shooter. You ran it well on the steel man!
RiA knocking it out of the park yet again in terms of value for the customer.
Thanks for being a long time watcher!
Great video keep them coming 👍
Thank you for watching, it means a lot to know that people are enjoying these, I have a brand new video coming featuring the RIA 5.0 in the next few days!
Trigger reminds me of the CZ P07. No wall = not a fan. I do hope there’s a Gen2 with additional tweaks like optic cut and irons, not this one or the other.
I saw in one video from SHOT that they are going to offer some different trigger pulls once the production gets up and going, so maybe that 2lb original competition pull will make a comback.
I actually like triggers like this one
Its pretty unique, thanks for watching!
You should run it with 124 it's crazy! I've got some 135 low recoil I'm gonna try and see if mine eats it.
Love the review and the 5.0 it takes some getting used to like you said but just flat out runs!
Thanks for watching, yeah it gets easier to get used to once you have shot it for about 200 rounds.
@@WVGunsNGoats that’s what I had to do. Once you start shooting it you have to stay with that trigger, if you try to alternate between guns it gets hairy. You described the lack of wall perfectly it’s more like a speed bump.
Great shooting and excellent review. I can certainly appreciate the engineering and ingenuity of the pistol and will definitely be on the list for a competition gun. However, I would like to see it in a smaller form for a CCW.
Thank you for the kind words and the watch. I’m not sure if they have any plans to make it in a different size, that would be a question for RIA, but maybe if it sells well they will do more models.
I would love to get my hands on one, but the very few sites that have them sell out as quickly as they get them. I'm hoping for a 4" or 4.24" tac model down the road.
Yes, thats the issue, i had to jump on one as soon as i got the instock notification at advanced tactical.
115 aluminum 200 bullets 2 Lite strike
Other than the barrel system it's a middle of the road gun.
But its unique and i like weird guns, as always thanks for watching!
For us old folks with arthritis in your hands, can you tell me how heavy the trigger pull is?
Yes, i actually picked up a trigger pull gauge is was between 4.5-5.0 lbs.
@@WVGunsNGoats thank you much that's good to know
Nice shooting, but why on earth would you only use 115gr from every manufacturer? This isn't an ammo test. 124/135/148gr from the same brand would have been far more interesting.
Hey, thanks for watching, 115 gr is just the most readily available ammo grain in 9mm near me and makes up a large amount of my stock, however i can possibly try and pick up a variety of heavier grain ammo and make another video testing them at some point.
@@WVGunsNGoats Check out Freedom Munitions. They have amazing variety. I look forward to your field strip/takedown video. I already have the funds to get one of these, but waiting for a universal optics cut and .22TCM. Already have a CZ Shadow 2. Don't need another competition 9m..
So far a vaporware
They get released in batches as they make them, gotta sign up for the drop on their website.
I hate the trigger. The recoil is nice and controllable but the trigger is not conducive to accurate or fast shooting.
I am hoping that they bring out the original 2lb trigger sometime soon.
