Hello! Thank you for the question and interest! Yes , knives are available for sale in Canada now! If you are stil interested please email me for details
Hello, I have about 40 years woodcarving experience....but I struggle SOOO much with this style. I bought a knife similar to yours (Beavercraft C10). And have been trying for 3+ years to succeed. Barely a day goes by without me practicing and getting frustrated with the results. I am wondering if my Basswood is too dry? The "premium" Basswood I buy in NC is very dry and appears "redder" than your beautiful white boards. When doing the cuts as you describe, with a perfectly razor sharp blade I have to push with 50-60lbs of force to make a simple cut that you seem to do with no force at all. Many of my chips end up like a pile of splinters than a solid piece like you get. Or maybe my knife is sharpened too high of an angle? My knife is sharpened to 17°- do I need to go lower? I really do love the style of chip carving. And am very thankful for any advice you can give me. Great videos by the way.
Hello, thanks for stopping by! 1. If your wood is too dry you can use water spray bottle to wet it a bit. 2. Your knife is sharp but angle is too big. All my knives are sharpened to 5 degrees and usually need only honing on leather. I make knives my self and you can try it from Etsy shop - www.etsy.com/shop/CarvedUA?ref=seller-platform-mcnav takes about 2-3 weeks to the States by mail Good luck and don't give up carving!
@@bonobowoodcarving7932 Thanks so much for your reply. Wow 5 degrees. That’s a huge difference. It’s going to take me awhile to reprofile my current knife.. I did go ahead and order one of yours as I want to see how the handle leverages the cuts.
Thank you! I make knives myself. You can order it from Etsy from my online store www.etsy.com/shop/CarvedUA?ref=seller-platform-mcnav takes about 2-3 weeks to the States by mail, about 10 days to Europe
